A substitute I always use if I don't have lemon is some apple cider vinegar!! Of course it isn't exactly the same, but usually lime juice just doesn't fit the bill when you need lemon

ANDREW, that hummus is criminal 😭 breaking my Middle Eastern heart. BEST TIP is to leave the canned chickpeas on the hob on high with some baking soda, before blending complete game changer. Not end of world if no baking soda. Also soaking your minced garlic in the lemon juice just letting it sit whilst you organise everything else really neutralises the spice of the garlic. cookie and Kate has the best online hummus recipe explains all these tips.
As wine country locals, we can safely say we love a wine and cheese pairing. We have a whole list of wine pairings of each of our cheese wheels, but for the most part a Cabernet Sauvignon never fails us.
Andrew, if you ever visit Asheville NC, you should eat at the vegan restaurant called "Plant" they have a vegan cheese plate and they make their own vegan butter which they use on their housemade bread. Definitely check it out if you're ever there! Go visit Asheville and take Chris with you!
ANDREW! Keep a few *food-grade* essential oils in the fridge for when you need a bit of flavor and find your perishables have spoiled (lemon, lime, and basil are some of my favorites and have saved many a hummus in my home).

Not just Mexican but nah we don't necessarily do that in America. Depends on the dish, with Mexican or Indian food I use them interchangeably. With Italian or Mediterranean, NOOOOO. Lime just won't do it.
