Just a cooking suggestion, you should have the oil a little higher befor droping the nuggets or use a thermometer while frying.....since both the chicken and the tempura batter were cold, I think the oil temperature might have dropped a bit, and that could be the reason that the batter was not as crispy and brown as expected.... Great video, the nuggets look delicious!!!

It also leads to a more oily nugget. But yes, great idea. You do want the oil hot before adding in any type of food product.

For more crispiness, you could try double frying the nuggets. You fry everything, wait a few minutes and fry it again 😉I do it for Korean fried chicken and it does make a difference 😊

If they reheat well, then you could batch prep and freeze them. That would decrease how much time it takes to have nuggs...like your cookie prep

As someone who has worked at McDonald's, the nugget color depends on how fresh the oil is. The fresher the oil, the lighter the color of the nug.

That That really helps, thanks! I used to have such old oil at home because it was so much hassle to change it. Since it meant spending more than 10 minutes with my sister to do and I hate the feel of oil. But it meant all the food was darker than expected.

@@erinjohnson7504 you should definitely make them when you have a little extra time! they are life changing (at least for me :p), they do take some time to make (especially when you don't have the dough attachment thingy like me, then your elbow grease will have to suffice but hey, it might as well count as a workout), but to be honest most of it is just waiting for them to rise. in the end they are so worth it!! my friend's dad thought they came from some fancy bakery and my aunt who almost never eats anything that is not whole grain ate 2 of them. highly recommend!

I wont lie - I'm 23 and still get happy meals. Its a great portion if you just want a little bit of fast food without going crazy!! I get the 6 piece mcnug with fries, apple slices, and of course the sweet and sour dipping sauce!!

I love my meat grinder. I got a high class food processor just so I could have a meat grinder. We make burgers with the medium size, meatballs with the smallest size. Sooooo good! mmmm

I always like the videos before I've seen them. Thanks Rach and Chris So fun! Isn't MSG very unhealthy? My Dutch McDonalds order is always: 6 McNuggets with bbq sauce (don't know if it's the same everywhere), a Big mac menu milkshake, Maestro Angus Burger, and sometimes a McChicken or a Big Tasty burger. Pahda pa pa pah.. I'm Lovin' it! haha

My favorite nugget dipping sauces from McDonald’s are bbq and sweet and sour together. Honestly life changing. I usually dip in the sweet and sour first and then dip into the bbq and it’s so good.
