Thank you so much for using the team, I’m glad you decided to use it!! It feels unreal that someone I’ve looked up to for such a long time is playing with pokemon I used, it means a lot as a relatively new player. Here’s to hoping I can build more feature-worthy teams in the future!
Hey man, awesome team and congrats on your results at the regional. Just wondering, is Heavy Slam exclusively for Flutter? Archaludon has been on a diet and is light as hell, Flash Cannon would do more damage in almost every situation. But FM has terrible Def and amazing Sp. Def so I figured that must be reasoning?
@@OpinionatedAussie Yup! With flutter being as insanely common as it is and there not being a ton of other fairy types running around (at least not nearly as much as flutter), your steel move on arch really only needs to deal with flutter mane, and being able to OHKO it is very important when flutter outspeeds and can 2hko back depending on its spread/item!
@@LookItUp thanks for the reply, makes a lot of sense! I'm trying to wrap my head around finer details of team building and understanding the reasoning behind niche moves and EV spreads really helps 😁
@LookItUp Glad too see one of your teams being covered, I always enjoy seeing what your cooking up each regulation. . . . Even if I always end up using a meme team like swift swim hypnosis feebas.
Dude PLEASE keep uploading like this!! Theyve helped me so much and the way you explains things has been helping me big time with this new Reg. Love the content!!!
Hi Aaron! I had the Dozo team in game 6 and was freaking out when I saw I was matched up against you. I recently got into VGC this generation due to the RU-vid algorithm recommending you and other beastcoast members. Your VGC content, tournament commentating, and the times we get to see you compete are the best out there. I was prepared for the icy wind to miss or not be enough😅 (timid Tatsu). I had banded Urshifu and should have locked sucker punch at the end there. Thank you for the great content and it was so cool to battle you!
Yes! My only wish was that we actually had to battle the trainers in the terrarium outside the elite four to rise up the ranks before we can actually take on their elite trial. I think it would have been a great way to show a lot of players who are not used to playing doubles all sorts of strategies they can do with two Pokémon active at once.
I made a rain team recently with Peliper, Archaludon, and Rapid Strike Urshifu and had great fun with it. I also added Walking Wake to cover for Sunny Day, and Milotic since I see Incineroar in most games. Peliper/Archaludon is just a really fun combo and I quickly realized just how strong and oppressive it is.
I used a similar core of 4 for this (manual rain torn is slower than whimsi so I leaned into this for weather war) and instead of Milo I used Grass-Ogerpon with Superpower that is EVd to guarantee OHKO into 95+% of incineroar. It also came with Sitrus Berry Follow Me on a slightly bulkier set to allow Scarf W-Urshifu to play into Raging Bolt. My 6th was kind of hastily thrown in there but I doubled down on monograss with Fake Out Rillaboom and to allow for Grassy Glide doublespam and additional recovery on lefties Archaludon Easily the weakest portion of the team but the rest was so strong it did okay..
Wonderful team and it got me to Masterball rank! One thing I want to say is that this team helps me from struggling to deal damage on minimize Muk which is a popular team in the Chinese community. That heavy slam not only kills flutter but also a small pile of sludge as well!
Archaludon is Metal Bridge Goku, and you can't change my mind. Evidence: - Kamehameha is electroshot. - Ki blast is flash canon. - Assault vest "weighted clothing" - Stamina is him getting stronger through being near death (Saiyan X-Factor) - Stalwart is stubborness to redirecting attacks.
Nice tan I hope u had a nice vacation or u changed the lighting And perfect in depth explanation as always Ever tought to do bo3 battles with open sheets on showdown to feature the teams in a more natural enviroment I mean ladder and open Teams are way different
Thanks for the video! Funnily, I've been thinking about an Archaludon team just today and been struggling to think how to make it work, especially outside of rain-Electro shot core. Was thinking screens or even veil could be nice since A-Tales could cover the Fighting and Grounds that threaten Archaludon. QOTD: my favorite part of the DLC are the new pokemons (paradox, Hydrapple, and Archaludon) being available and usable for Reg F. They've opened up a lot of new fun teams to build and experiment with, both meta and jank in-mind. Bolt core, Gouging Fire for sun and bulky attacker, Wake for sun, Crown for fast Psy Spam as some of the examples I've been having fun building around.
QOTD: Easily raging bolt. FINALLY a consistent answer into urshifu rapid-strike, along with being a super consistent, well-balanced (in terms of matchups and speed) and just actually fun pokemon. not to mention some of my fave mons returning like serperior and latios :)
Awesome video as always! I just wish you would still show the general overview of the entire team (like you did in the SwSh era), so we can see the entire team at one look, before you go into the detailed descriptions of each Pokémon. :)
Love these videos, they're the perfect length for pushing myself at the gym! My favorite part of the new DLC was the Elite Four battles which pushed me to consider my EVs for the first time ever!
weather ball does more damage than hurricane does in rain. its base power doubles in weather. So it's 50 -> 100, 100 -> 150 from rain, and 150 -> 225 from STAB. Hurricane is 165 after STAB on a neutral target.
Favorite part of the DLC was probably the Champion fight. Champion battles in Pokémon usually don’t have that much personal conflict/stakes attached to them, so it was really cool to see a new direction in that regard. (That and the music was bangin.)
I have to say that when we got Duraludon for me it was one of those Pokémon that make you say: "oh cool", but never really gets too much of my attention. But now Archaludon is becoming one of my favorites 😂 it's so cool to me for some reason, and for real this time lol (plus it's cry is so satisfying to hear)
24:42 😇👌💯💯 i was looking forward to seeing archaludon content!! really thankful for this 🙏🙏 (qotd -> i love the double battles and really enjoyed the ones with the elite 4 and champion!! i hope this isn't the end of blueberry academy coz i wanna see more of everyone!!) (and do more double battles)
When Dragon Cheer is fixed I would love a Prankster Dragon Cheer pokemon but in the meantime I want to try and make bulky support Archaludon with Dragon Cheer into Sniper Scope Lens Kingdra.
Isn’t sniper + scope lens + cheer overkill? Sniper gives plus one, scope gives plus one and cheer gives plus two. You only need plus 3 to get 100% crit rate
That last battle was so cool to watch. The moment I saw Thundurus, I had a feeling it was going to use Electric Terrain, and that feeling only grew when I saw it paired with Archaludon. Funny story with me knowing that was me doing a little bit of research out of curiosity: the only Pokemon that can Prankster set up Electric Terrain for Future Paradox Pokemon is Thundurus... If I one day pick up Scarlett or Violet, I'd try to make a team that works off Electric Terrain that doesn't use Pincurchin.
Qotd Honestly just the idea of it all being doubles based was so cool to me. Loved seeing what strats the random trainers had. Also being able to shiny hunt starter Pokémon is great too!
This big stapler bridge uses three different stats to calculate the power of its attacks. Attack for heavy slam, defense for body press, and SpAtk for Electric Shot and Dragon Pulse. Don't believe I've seen a mon run that before.
Qotd: the final battle with Kieren was great, I also loved the fact that every single battle in the dlc is a double battle with some interesting tactics. I'm using a rain team atm too and loving it. I had Hearthflame Ogerpon as a counter to Sun teams but I've faced so much Pao-Nite combos that I've found it absolutely necessary to put an Indeedee on my team to stop priority. 😬
Sure, when you mentioned weather ball with pelliper, I totally relate to those situations when somebody just brings out the sun, i like hydro pump with wide lense, or surf when I pair up with a pokemon like quagsire with water absorb, he's really cool to counteract those switching electric types who take advantage of the rain, and then pelliper doesn't get affected by EQ, so you have a nice surf / EQ teamwork there. But Weather ball is powerful and accurate, I also like it a lot. Wow that Archaludon is really interesting, the body press with no defense investment, and heavy slam, maybe I can experiment myself, thanks so much for the video.
Would you say archaludon is a pseudo or not? It has 600 bst and dragon type but isn't a 3 stage evo plus its a different generation evo. 🤔 Also yay baxcaliburrrrrrrrrrrr :D
I've come up against a few Pelliper Archaludon teams as I've been climbing up toward Master Ball and I really think that the Assault vest is a pretty major deal here given how Special Attack focused the current meta seems to be. In particular, it seems like most other Archaludons I've faced thus far are just not as prepared for Special Attackers all that well as they fairly consistently go down to 1 or 2 attacks (I've been using the Primarina team featured here a week or so ago, for those curious).
One of my favourite current duo's is Archaludon and Friend Guard Maushold, when you hit it with population bomb you get a nearly guaranteed +6 defence so theres so much you can do with them
My only issue is it’s lackluster special defence which can only be boosted by assault vest since it dosent have calm mind which requires sacrificing a item
Archaludon is wild, i've been running AV but with Stalwart instead of Stamina because of plethora of redirection this format between psyspam Indeedee and W-Ogerpon. Its definitely not as optimal as Stamina builds but ignoring redirection is funny every. single. time.
This mon I always struggle against to the point I use Perish song on my flutter mane just to at least force my opponent out if they get too many boost with Electro Shot and stamina
Just yesterday I saw a video meme about Focus Blast never hitting and all the comments making fun of the move… Then game 4 comes in 😂 The meme is strong with that move
QOTD: Double battles everywhere. Single battles are too easy at this point in the franchise and I would love to see this develop into difficulty option in future games. Having double battles throughout a whole game would be awesome instead of having a supereffective move and a setup move sweep each part of the game.
I've been using archaludon with breaking swipe with essentially the same set as this one to make it an unkillable tank but heavy slam to ohko flutter mane is interesting
Archaludon is so oppressive if you don't have the right mon to deal with it. I also love seeing the Baxcalibur. I've won 10 of my last 11 in masterball with a Baxcalibur on the team, thought i was the only one lol
That Tatsugiri was guaranteed Timid Choice Scarf, since it outsped your Choice Scarf Urshifu. Tatsugiri can never outspeed your Urshifu unless it was Timid and you were Adamant, which is exactly the case here.
Finally found a meme team to climb the ladder with and these rain/electro teams are just WALLING me like crazy. We can for sure expect to see a few of these place high!
Man i love these vids I recently got back to playing ladder and really like these videos, especially the parts when you explain the team and there weaknesses. Keep up the good work. Have you seen the dark urshifu, farigiraf and blood Moon Ursuluna team from hyungwoo shin, looks pretty good.
Sir, I would really appreciate a lucario team. It's a fantasy of every pokemon anime watcher to play compatitive pokemon with their fav mons. It would be great if you make a team on the most noticeable fallen titan Lucario. Please ❤❤
i feel like both dlc’s were huge upgrades to the game, not just in gameplay but story and overall feel. the dialogue is much better and more thought out and the story is more interactive, less copy paste cutscenes. maybe that’s just me
Hi Aaron! Big fan of your posts and watch regularly. I was wondering if you can show a team with Iron Boulder? I’m trying to find pokemon to place around but can’t decide :(.
