I've always thought that "Who is the most famous person who knows your name?" is a much more interesting question than "Who do you know?" or "Who have you met?". I once exchanged a few words with Steve Jobs (outside San Jose convention centre after the keynote introducing the original iMac), but VampireChicken knows my name.

I thought the Elephant Gambit was 1 e4 e5 2 Nf3 d5. Though 1 e4 e5 2 Nf3 Nf6 3 Nxe5 d5 does, I admit, transpose to the position after 1 e4 e5 2 Nf3 d5 3 Nxe5 Nf6 in the Elephant Gambit.

So, that is NOT the Elephant gambit as such, though it is true that you are transposing to one particular variant of it a couple of moves down the line. I play the Elephant from time to time 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 d5 and if they go 3.exd then 3.- Bd6 is my favourite line.

What's the advantage of Bd6 rather than Jonathan's preferred line (which he demonstrated this video), if you don't mind me asking? I was thinking of farming some Elo so 😂😂😂
