Use the base gel as the slip solution, and it's sooooo much easier to work with, and I've found less lifting and longer lasting results that way. Also, white is always the most difficult color to work with for some reason. 💕

Honestly you must of used it incorrectly! Mine come out so amazing ! Especially using dual form . I hate 90 percent alcohol 70 works best for me. I never do them super crazy long . So maybe you didn’t practice enough . It’s forsure not gonna be amazing the first time . That’s why I did one nail over and over till I got it right then I did a full set after 2 weeks people say they look better than salons ans i agree it’s amaZing

I admire you for trying this. It does get better. I’ve been doing my nails for only 3 years and believe me, it does get easier. A suggestion-I discovered clips that hold the nail on while you adjust the polygel underneath. They help tons!!!

I just got my first polygel kit yesterday. I have used gel polishes and paints on my natural nails but have never did polygel extensions. I have 2 days off of work so I am going to give it a go. I think your nails turned out pretty good for your first try. As you mentioned it will take practice. I only do my nails now. I use to do acrylics for friends, their daughters, and myself. I do love designing nails. But I am going to be trying this kit out. Thank you for your honest opinion from your personal experience. Hopefully we will both get better as time goes on. I agree totally kindness costs nothing so spread it around. Use that quote quite a bit.

Thank you for sharing your. Experience. I ordered a kit from Modelsone from Amazon as well. The first attempt was a absolute disaster! It took me a week to get everything. Off my nails. I tried again and the second time was better but I still need lots of practice. I actually painted a thin coat of poly gel directly into my nail. Then I filled the nail for and cured it for 10 seconds then adjusted the nail form if needed. Definitely not easy!

Doing polygel nails is like swimming: When you start out you need some instruction, it helps to have the right equipment (easier to swim in a swimsuit than a sundress or jeans & a sweater), & lots & lots of practice!!! I've been doing polygel nails for 3mo now & here's my tips: prep is paramount! Make sure you don't have ANY skin where you're going to put the polygel. I've found an e-file to help with this majorly-which has it's own learning curve (keep it low & go slow, but keep moving). Once you've roughened the nailbed, washing your hands is great, but then you need to remove the soap/detergent residue from your nails, so wipe well first with 100% acetone, then with 70% or greater alcohol (I usually have 91%) - this can also be used as the slip solution. Now the base coat & cure, I swear by clear polygel as the darker the gel, the more it needs cured, get & use the nail clips, do 1 nail at a time, start with your off hand, cure the top for 60 sec, then turn it over & cure for another 60-120 sec, leave the forms on for a couple min after you're done curing, & try not to get them too wet for a couple hours (I'll wash my hands, but not shower or do dishes for a few hours after applying my polygels). I, also, like shorter nails (1/2 inch from cuticle to tip). I hope you kept playing with them, or try again.

This was a great real video. I am thinking of switch from dip to poly gel. The dip just takes so long, even though I've been doing it for a year now. Polygel looks like it wont take as long once you get the hang of it! Thank you so much for the honest showing!

A tip use the top cork of the slip soloution as you not need much at all. And the form sall be a bit larger then the nail otherwise you having flimsy nails yes. If the nail gets to be like you had with first nail just take more polygel with slip soloution and paint the nail like a nailpolish as to fill in the midtake holes and put under the uv lamp for 30 secounds more. It is important you use right size of the mold and not to much slip soloution. The slip soloution is just for helping you to make it even.

Hi luv. To get used to long lovely nails. Slowly increase the length, very slowly. Also you'll learn to stop using the ends of your fingers and start using the pads of your fingers, also the sides of your index fingers. It becomes natural. I always had long nails. Just slowly increase the length a tiny bit each time and eventually you'll find you can do everything with ultra long nails. Thanks for the review, I've been looking for a kit for ages, this one looks great for the price. P.S you can mix say two gel colours in a glass bowl to achieve a different colour also

Try UR Sugar Base Coat and Top Coat. They are really great products! Reasonably priced and work with all polygels. Also, as many of your “commenters” said, use a lot of plain alcohol for the Slip Solution. I’ve used 71% and higher and they both work very well. Maybe try putting on 2 very thin coats of the polygel ,cure it then add a tiny bit more to underneath the nail and cure that. I’m still perfecting that technique. Getting the “Apex” just right takes some practice too. That’s the center of the nail and gives it strength and structure. I’m very sure that you will be an expert in no time!!! My manicures have lasted as long as 6 weeks (adding fills) but I try not to drown my nails everyday…just use minimal water and gloves as much as possible. And….It’s taken a while to learn not to use my fingernails as tools!!! Good luck with all your efforts and God Bless!!!

91% alcohol works better then the slip solution, it’s not so tacky. Also adding the polygel to your regular nail as an overlay is way better then using the dual forms. Practice makes perfect. Also make sure you double your “bake” time 😉

Yes modelones works with 71 alcohol and works better on toes for a great pedicure!! Double or triple your bake time. Trust me you don’t want uncured poly gel! But it’s so fun!! Don’t give up

I started doing dip nails when we were locked down so had had a lot of supplies when got my kit what I don’t think I could do is not have an efile and nail clips that hold the form to your nail when you cure it also it’s really important not to smoosh them down so it squeezes out at the cuticle just use light pressure and clip it and cure

I’m not being rude just trying to help you out but you should’ve used 90% rubbing alcohol and your not suppose to push the polygel onto the nail like that your suppose to spread it throughout the false nail, and it looks like you didn’t add enough polygel to your nails sometimes you have to squeeze a lil more onto the false nail and it’s a lil easier to squeeze the polygel onto the false nail then putting it on the spatula, and after you are done filing your nails you can either get rubbing alcohol wipes to clean up the sides around your cuticle and fingers and then put cuticle oil on not all beginners are going to have perfect nails the first try I’ve seen most ppl buy nail models to practice first even tho you posted this a few months ago hope this helps 🤙🏼

Lol. Did you watch someone else first? This is a nice one to watch, before you try. But, I’m curious to know if you’ve tried again since all the advice in the comments. Are you interested in trying again? It’s funny to me that it’s a fail; just a learning curve. They lasted a week! So better application after learning or trying a bit more and it’ll turn out! White is a daring color for the first time too! I still can’t apply white polish to myself, looks like a whiteout mess lol

Modelones is a good product. I have bought many products from them on Amazon. I am definitely not a professional and I get complements about my nails all of the time. It almost feels like you went out of your way to make it look like the product wasn’t working for you. It is not sticky or difficult to work with and who pours the slip solution into a bowl. You don’t need that much. You do have to be patient and willing to do your nails multiple times before you figure out your groove but the problem is the inability of the user who is trying to learn not the product. Maybe doing your own nails is not for you but Modelones is an affordable product that can make a girl who can’t afford to go to the nail shop feel like she can look like she did.

Less liquid even though it seems harder to work with it. It will run less and less pressure when applying it’s not a press on nail it has to adhere and not move and then it is stuck. It molds. Much different.

It's best not to cut cuticle. Small cuts can get infected easily. Also you can permanently damage the nail matrix. (That is the area under the cuticle where new tissue is formed that the nail grows) If you do want to cut your cuticle the best way is to soak your fingers is warm soapy water. This will clean the nails and soften the skin and cuticle. Actually, the cuticle is dead skin around the nail.) Never cut your cuticle dry because you are more likely to cut yourself.

Nope, nope, nope. I know myself, and I don't know that I have the patience. Before Covid I went once a month and had the dip nails done, which I was totally happy with. Right now I'm just polishing and shaping my own nails at home. Not my favorite because I don't like the shape of some of my nails, but it is what it is......for now!
