i was very anti e-reader for a LONG time but was gifted one for christmas last year, and i’m in love. i still prefer physical books but my kindle has gotten SO much use in the last couple months. i brought it on a trip in April and read 3 books in a week. i hardly ever read during trips usually and i credit my kindle to my ability to read that much. very worth it. and i do read faster on it too
i was a physical book only person for so long. but once i embraced the ereader (strictly the kind that looks like paper), it's life changing. i live in a very small space where i can't collect as many books as i'd like, so it saves a ton of space, plus i just love it for super long books, and you really do get through them faster somehow! i still definitely read phys books, i switch between the two, but i really do recommend it for certain things :) (plus, throwing your kindle in your bag to go literally everywhere and read at any moment is the best) 💚💚 love seeing your videos always!
being able to take a kindle anywhere is what’s most appealing to me! I would never be parted from my current read again 🤩💛 lol you might have convinced me!
i really like your videos!! as for e readers, i sometimes use my mums kindle or the kindle app on my phone, but it’s usually only if i have been sent ARCs, i love reading physical books, nothings feels better than that (except when they’re big and i feel like i made no progress) and i agree with you, 530 pages MAX is enough 😩 also i’m very excited to start reading the shadowhunters series and to pick up funny story!!
100 pages per day is a good reading goal. You get a fair bit of reading in without it being unachievable long term. When I was in university I would read 100 pages during my commute alone, 50 pages going in and 50 pages going home.
i totally agree about the “reading to have read” consumption model that’s promoted by booktok and unfortunately has migrated towards booktube. i’ve been trying to get away from that and spend time enjoying the books i read, but seeing my decreased stats compared to the last few years sometimes makes me really sad 😭 but i’m definitely enjoying reading again more like i used to when i first found my love for it compared to when i joined the overbuying/over-reading/overexposure cult that is booktok
right! the numbers are discouraging 😅 but the enjoyment of actually reading is so much more important than completing a reading goal!! preaching to myself here lol
