hello friends and welcome to another reading vlog! this week i challenged myself on a little readathon, trying to read as many books as possible in one week! I also go bookshopping (!!!) at two beautiful new bookstores, so i'm giving you a small 'come bookshopping with me'. AND in this reading vlog you will finally meet the elusive housemates i always mention!

My dear friend, you should take a break from books reading and watch some movies. Watch "Memento" (2000, criminal drama), "Outlaw king" (2018, history), "Ex machina" (2014, sci-fi) and first "Tne man from Earth" (2007, sci-fi).

It’s totally normal to get sick after really stressful seasons! Your body’s immune system is on high alert when you’re stressed and when you come down or hit that deadline your immune system does too. I often get sick when I take vacation from work, like my body says “oh, it’s okay to relax now? I’ll go on vacation too” 😂💀 feel better soon!

Oh no just when malls are finally dying in America they’re being resurrected in the Netherlands. That mall is way more trendy than anything I’ve ever been too though, that second bookstore was aesthetic ✨

Oh in my area one is a major spot, it’s just becoming more walk around open airs malls, ateleast on the beach, is where that’s becoming a thing.

Sweden has "mall of Scandinavia", which feels a bit presumptuous like the rest of the Scandinavian countries are OK with us representing them.

100% Stockholm to crown itself "Capital of Scandinavia" and then build a Westfield Mall of Scandinavia. I'm not sure what the Danes think of it, but as a Stockholmer it's kinda funny.

My tip for this kind of this is to dig out an old book you love and re-read it at whatever speed you want. Wrap yourself up in a reading comfort blanket. Drink lots of water. But I enjoyed the video. I particularly liked one shot in the bookshop where I'd read two out of the three books in shot: Girl, Woman, Other and Unsettled Ground. (Vanity, vanity...all is vanity!!) I haven't been to a bookshop since the pandemic started so that was a nice thing to see.

The mall thing - I don't know about the whole of Europe, but in Poland people like them a lot, they like to build them and spend time in them, every bigger city has one, or two, or in the case of my city, Cracow, 5 or something :D and always the next one that's about to be built has to be bigger and fancier of course. Personally, I can appreciate having all the shops in one place indoors, but in general hate going there, just too many people, too many lights, bright colours and music.

Indeed! There're many malls in Europe. Spain is full of indoor and outdoor malls, I've also been to malls in the UK, France and Italy (there's some famous ones). I really want to visit Poland, I've got many polish friends living in Barcelona 😍

I've been to the Netherlands once (Amsterdam) and absolutely fell in love with ABC! One of the best selections of books that I've ever seen 🤩

I really like hearing you read out some Marcus Aurelius! Your voice is so pleasant to listen to while I crochet and I'm so glad you showed how human you are at the end, you admitted you wanted the vlog to end happy and positive but hey life doesn't always go that way. I'm starting a master's degree in the fall and I'm really nervous about meeting deadlines and all that so I'm glad I have your videos to help me get through it, as another student is also doing their best and that's the best you can offer :) gah this got cheesy at the end, you're one of my favourite booktubers and I can only hope my channel look as great as yours one day! :D I love your editing style! There're malls in Europe, Spain is full of them (indoors and outdoors), and at the top of my head I've also been to indoor malls in the UK, France and Italy, actually some of them are famous and visited by tourists! It's true I haven't seen them in the Netherlands but I wasn't focused on going shopping when I visited haha Btw, Stradivarius and Pull&Bear are spanish brands from the same family "Inditex" which also owns Zara, Zara Home, Bershka, Oysho, Massimo Dutti and Uterqüe 🥰

Marcus Aurelius' notes might be a little over the top to us now, but the guy was running an Empire and I bet he needed the extra motivation to keep everything running smoothly. For me, I'd probably dial down his advice a few notches because there are some good nuggets of wisdom in there. Also, good luck with the thesis

How is the selection of English books in a Dutch bookstore? I live in Germany near the boarder to NL, and in German bookstores it's mostly only one shelf of English books! That's too few! Idk if its your kind of thing but Mr Wilder & Me by Jonathan Coe (I saw a short clip of it) is a really good book, I think it was in Paacman? Is that what that bookstore was called? And felt so confused for a split second because in London there's a shopping centre called Westfield, must be a company that does shopping malls over Europe. Good to know! Haha
