@@adamquinn3230 cool I never asked but I don't think it's a typo cuz he spelled it wrong twice and I genuinely don't think he knows how to spell it so I just wanted him to know how to spell it
Remember that one time when Mumbo tried to do Bedrock redstone? He spent half the video struggling to build a 3x3 piston door and the other half gawking at the moving dispensers.
Bedrock is easier to first grasp, but gets harder for complex, fast circuits due to its inconsistencies. Java is harder to learn, but is easier for larger circuits. That’s just what I think, as I do both. Also, you can’t try bringing one mentality to the other. In Java, you have to embrace the 1-tick pulses and quasi-connectivity, in Bedrock, you have to slow down to prevent circuit muddling and such.
5:00 "That would be crazy if that had worked" Funny thing about that, it WOULD have worked if you used a repeater instead of redstone dust. That's actually a really common circuit.
yeahh.. bedrock redstone is way simpler to understand (for beginners), while java redstone is really frickin weird BUT allows you to do more crazy insane stuff once you know how to manipulate all the redstone mechanics and use them to theirr full effect
i get that but for me redstone should have certain rules and behaviors and QC dont fit in it and dont make sense. and for bedrock, it would be good if just someone in mojang decide that fixing bugs on one of the most important parts of the game could be a good idea
QC is the only way to power a piston wall from one side flush. Removing it would render a fast 5x5 impossible given that that’s literally how half of the sides work
I love how he spent time trying to make a upward double piston extender and gives up, just to try and make another one in a more complicated context. Genius.
5:07 As a Java redstone person if you replace the redstone dot with a 1 tick repeater it'll work. If you want a more in-depth explication as to why then let me know and I'll make a video explaining Java redstone as much as I'm able to.
Mumbo saying he doesnt understand why Bedrock redstone works the way it does in that version The Bow Tie Man saying he doesnt understand why JAVA redstone works the way it does in that version It seems there should be a collaboration with Mumbo and Bow Tie, each trying the other version while explaining the version they are use to. Could be interesting 😂 Since they are both equally confused about the other versions redstone mechanics
hey, just wanted to let you know why quasi connectivity(qc) is a thing. when the qc-able blocks (pistons, droppers...) were added, they borrowed the code from the iron door which was made to be activable from 2 blocks above or diagonally (cuz a door is actually 2 blocks). good video btw, it looked like me trying to understand redstone a long time ago
Quasi-connectivity and block spitting don't make much sense at first, but they are incredibly useful. Bedrock's piston mechanics are based on RNG, but on Java, there is a specific order that components power. You should look at some of the fastest Java doors :)
jackson playz honestly to me java redstone is so much simpler bedrock redstone confuses me and im actually originally bedrock player for 3 years just idk thats my opinion
Used to be on Bedrock (because my phone was my only usable device; all my laptops were useless) but once I got a usable laptop and used Java, I’ve been loving its redstone MUCH more and have never looked back. I get why someone who has spent much more time on Bedrock and is just so used to it that they don’t mind the drawbacks, would rather stay, fair enough, but personally, I find the QC stuff much more tolerable than the inconsistent and slow timings of Bedrock redstone. Quasi connectivity is actually understandable enough once you learn how it works, though you DO need to read it carefully to understand it. It’s still extremely good to have Bedrock RU-vidrs like you around! You all help make Bedrock less crappy!
I main java and even i lose it. It tends to be more consistent tho which i like, bedrock does (or did) have underwater redstone which would make underwater farms smaller cos you dont need a case. r im going crazy and it never had
you have to respect this dude. he could have easily googled teh basic mechanics of java and watched some videos to understand, but goes through with it, even what must have been hours of pain. hats off man
Honestly, when you said you dislike creative mode movement when flying in Java, I laughed a little. When I play bedrock edition, I complain about instantly stopping moving when you release a movement key 🤣
@@TheBowTieMan But I find that it's more restricting. I'm used to the slide of flying in Java, it *feels* like I'm actually flying and I have to correct accordingly. But that's just me; I'm not the best at building or redstone in either version, and I barely play Bedrock 'cause it does funky things to my brain (unless it's PS4 edition; that has the best of both worlds, though I still find myself trying to separate my head tilt and my movement more often than not)
quazy connectivity works because if you power the bottom piston from that far, you have to give a block update, the top piston provides that block update
@@vividised1982 he has real life stuff as well you know, sometimes something happens, so naturally he needs to put his rl affairs first, its like family before a job.
Don't worry, TBTM, I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around Java too. It's good ol redstoneglitch here, designer of the first existing MC datasaving, multi save slot target minigame. I have designed a 3x3 though.
Connectivity is pain and happiness at the same time, while i was doing a 3X3 door that opens and closes in a spiral, glass saved me because of the transparent block rule that makes connectivity change (the 1 tick piston rule + observers helped me a lot too)
*Leaving his home world alone, one man, will venture into an alternate dimension where physics don’t apply.* “Start log, I’ve been stranded here for... actually I don’t remember anymore.” “Oh no, it’s here, the quasi connectivity!” “I have to run, I’ll continue this log soon!” (Demon noises) “ *AHHHHHHH*” *BOWTIE MAN into the Java dimension* coming to theaters July 4’th.
This was fun to watch as a java player. The reason i play java is 0-tuck doors. They are a kpt faster then normal ones (3x3 can close instantly and open in 0.3s)
this was actually interesting to see from the other side, a java player looking at bedrock would be in much the same situation, confused on some things such as pistons seemingly having no priority on bedrock, while a bedrock player struggles with quasi connectivity and speed changes. I've always wondered why there's not a lot more cross between java redstone and bedrock, I feel both player bases could learn a trick or two from the other
Love the intro! As luck would have it after playing Bedrock the last couple years as well I recently tried to remake the first thing I ever made in Java in about 2013, which was a portcullis gate - it went about this well so I feel your pain!
Are you serious???? When they would do that i would stop playing newer version dude. I love how the Java Redstone Works a 3x3 Flush door with 3 tribble Piston extender that are 4 Pistons 1 repeater 2 observer. You need 2 Observer signals (Button best uption) then you using some one off java bug to power a piston that powers the piston
So, the things you have to learn to become a Java redstoner: - quasy connectivity - 0 ticking - BUD - Which blocks unmoveable, and which ones breakable - The mechanics of block 36 - In 1.16.4 you CAN put things on top of pistons
@The Bow Tie Man Block 36 = Moving Piston block (also known as ghost block) It is a technical block use by pistons to temporarly strore the id of the block that is moved. It is very useful (the only way in 1.16) for breaking bedrock, or to create unobtainable blocks like headless pistons. Also, when blown up, it drops the block that it stored the id of, and since it has a very low blast resistance it can be used to make efficient basalt/cobblestone farms. TNT duplicators also utilise it's existance.
GG ON 100k Mumbo/Grian morph! (You sound like Grian and have his character but have Mumbo's love of redstone!) I think i have said that before on the channel XD
Bow tie man Your almost at 1 MILLION SUBS!!! I WILL POST YOUR REDSTONE BUILDS ON MY FACEBOOK ACCOUNT AND I WILL TELL ABOUT UR CHANNEL!!!! NOW I KNOW HOW I CAN SUPPORT YOU!!!! THANK U SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!!!
@@TheBowTieMan lol not really, you did very well, but i just was like ‘WHAT?’ when you didn’t understand something which was so simple in java but made 0 sense in bedrock
Java Survival Redstone Let's play? Like a proper SV where you have like a board for redstone builds to make. You could built a neat Base! (Cause you can build like a god, you showed it of loads of times!) I do enjoy your Content, stay healthy and don't get your brain blown to often by java redstone! ;-)
I guess redstone skills are universal. If you can do something in version, you may be able to fo it in the other, just with some tinkering around. Like i usually do redstone in bedrock, but just as much in java as well. But you still were able to make a 3×3 piston door in java, a version you barely play, and still manage to make it small, and here is me, having almost equal redstone knowledge in both versions, and still having piston doors i make humongous! Oh also the upwards double piston extender was almost correct the first try, you needed to use a repeater at 2 ticks instead of redstone.
Hey, i am an Java and Bedrock player and i came hear to say you what we have on Java: Zero Tick Piston. TNT Duplicator, PRETICTIBLE Redstone, how can an piston with an 2 tick repeater can fire first then an 1 tick repeater piston???????????? Some Redstone bugs that make some cool stuff. Sorry you only have 1 thing that i want movable Chest. At the Jeff door we us a little bug where piston can power other pistons. Its realy usefull :=), And i saw tripple piston extender that are smaller then that in my flush piston door i use. (No hate, Bedrock restone its relay confusing for me)
@@TheBowTieMan Mojang has to find a middle point. The Jeff Door you build in Java something like that bug in Java or that bug where you can power piston by powering air lol. Or duper. But we also need pushabel tile entities in Java. We need the best out of bouth worlds. But so that we can make big contraptions easy like in Java. Ibuild a flying maschine powerd zugar cane farm today. I dodnt know id that would function so in bedrock. Because 0 tick Pistons.
