Historically HD's were cool because you could modify them if you wanted and it didn't cost much. These days you need to modify them and it ain't cheap. God bless HD fans. Still love the channel.
Thank you for an honest video showing that not always everything works out on the first try. Hopefully HD can come through for you and help you get everything sorted and installed the way you like.
I think that Jordan needs his own PanAm. He seems like he would really enjoy adventure biking. I'm a bagger guy just got a 2024 CVO RG and you are making me think about making a PanAm my second bike.
stopped by Berts Baracuda Harley on Saturday of last week and met Shade Tree at the Blockhead unveiling. Just awesome to run into him, super nice and appreciative. Thanks for all you do.
Can't wait to see the full build out! When i got my PA, my first three things were A1 risers (the HD ones block the screen), the folding shift lever (my big feet couldnt find the small stock one) and the Screaming Eagle exhaust (with the db limiter removed). The next was the seat. I highly recommend the services of Mean City Cycles in NC. I mailed them my stock PA seat and they reshaped it. It kept the og look but boy what a difference!
Same I have a 2023 all the bells and whistles... Word of caution weigh the bike more to the center it rides so much better. I packed for 7 days on mines and it ran well. Goodluck to you
Really digging your new bike and I love the way Jordan has his shop set up. I'm experiencing severe shop envy right now. My only saving grace is I have a pneumatic lift for my bikes. ;-)
10:35 I know that look 😂. As a man who works on his own bikes I know that look and wish there was a longer "raw" version of this video, Harley wouldn't like it but damn can you read the pain and anger in his eyes.
That green is a nice color. Bark Busters and foldable mirrors are a good idea too. I had my 23 for a year with a little over 9000 miles with about 1/3 fire and county dirt roads in NW Arkansas and SW Missouri. The more I ride it the more I like it.
Jess i gotta ask doesn't Jordan have an air ratchet? as that would make it a heck of a lot easier for you ,just hold it frem to the screw then pull the trigger on the air ratchet.
Brought my 2024 PAS in for many upgrades. On June 28, 2024, HD released a statement saying the top case mounting kit did not fit the 2024. I had to go with Pazoma. Made same mods as you did. Enjoy your channel!
HI Jess, My comment here is not necessarily about this video, but I post it here because it is your most recent video, and I sincerely hope that you might read this. I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH for your channel, your content, and your videos. I'm now 71, retired from the Air Force 26 years ago, in basically good health for my age, just started my Social Security, and it appears that I'm about to become a motorcycle rider. (As a teenager I rode around a little tiny Honda, you know, like in the Beach Boys song . . . but that is the limit of my "motorcycle" experience so far.) Your videos are so fun, light hearted, funny just a tad irreverent, but not certainly not obnoxiously so, etc. etc. So I am a new subscriber of yours only moments ago, as you have contributed greatly to my great anticipating of starting to ride. The video of yours that I just watched and which touched me so to subscribe was one from a year and a half ago, entitled, "Well... You said this would happen." So I subscribed, and look forward to more of your wonderful content, which chiefly consists of you just being the honest, happy, candid, genuine, and fun person you are. But I've already watched many dozens of your cool videos. So please don't underestimate the impact and far reach that you have on others by your great efforts. I don't have a two-wheel ride yet, but I think that I've figured out which bike I want to get, and while I'd love to get an Indian Roadmaster, it will probably be a used V-twin 900 cc rice burner cruiser (with full hard bags, back seat, and trunk). I am about to start my MSF Safety Course, and in preparation for that, I'm starting to get my own safety gear. That which has the most appeal to me in riding is in going on long trips. I've never been yet to Key West (St. Pete, yes) yet, and I'm dying to be there one day. I've already driven all over our great land, but I look forward to that now on two wheels. I live in a small town in the great basin, but no longer associate at all with my inherited culture. In my life, I've flown jet planes, built street machines, done a bit of street racing, participated in bicycle racing, been a rock climber, engaged in other hobbies, but something about riding on two wheels has just bit me real hard at the present time. So we'll see where this new bug takes me, and when I get my ride, I'll try and let you know somehow. But I want it to be red, just like my old 1972 V-8 Vega wagon street machine back in the day. I Refuse to "act my age." So there you go. Thank you, thank you again. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. PS: I've enjoyed your videos with your hubby, where you go on trips together. I also want to do Mt. Washington now - perhaps Pike's Peak also? I hope you can do more of these with your man. BTW, in '82-'85 I was stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB near Dayton, so I know your area somewhat. Cheers.
My brother had a hand in designing/building the Pan-America in an open-builder contest. He didn't even get credit for it when it went into production. HD engineers made their tweaks and called it theirs.
Always make sure your riding glasses are safety rated. Safety glasses can be sunglasses. All it takes is a small rock or something to fly up and take an eye out at highway speed.
HD used to have a repuation for being a Mr. Potato Head when it came to accessories. Everything just fit because they built the bikes the same way for ten years without any changes. Seems like they are constantly changing the Pan Am. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of little of things they needed to change from the first bikes. I'm glad they are working to improve it.
WTH !!! I thought my screen went techno-wonky with the color palette. Normally your videos are b&w, lol. Great colorful shirt. Upgrades look real nice.
The same riser from 21-23 should fit the 24. There are tons of out on the market. Some better than others. The one that go 2 up and 1 back dont blocm rhe gauges. The fog light kit according to the instructions should have come with the correct mount for 24s. I am in the process of making my own. Didnt know about the change on mid year 24s mone had the threaded inserts for panniers.
Radiator guard: Remove seat, disconnect battery, remove front brakes, remove front wheel, remove front forks, reassemble in reverse order.. . . . welcome to the world of motorcycle mechanics. And don't ya just love unannounced mid-year changes? By now I'm sure you've got that tourpack install figured out. That's just a flat washer and a nylock nut - stainless of course.
I really struggle with all the add ons that people insist on their HDs. Aside from the bolt on viking overlord bags and national cycle switchblade windshield, the Raider is and will always be bone stock. My neighbor paid mkre for the stage 4 on his 2013 cvo breakout than i did for my bike. He has 3000mi on it and offered it to me for $12000. To each their own. 🙂
If you're going to ride your PA offroad, you'll want to skip the Jekyll and go with something like a Supertrapp, with an integral spark arrestor, or another option that has a factory fit spark arrestor available. I don't think Jekyll is doing one. Don't be that guy (Or Girl)...
I was afraid I had been unsubscribed again! Thankfully, no. I'm still on your list. The 'Naughty' list I hope! Magnum: Hey, TC. What are you doing with that 🔨 hammer? TC: I'm going to work on the Ferrari. Magnum: You don't work on a Ferrari with a hammer!! TC: I work on Everything with a ball peen hammer!!
You should have weighed everything you added on, would be interesting to see how much you just added to an already heavy ADV bike. Also would be interesting to know the cost you just added to an already expensive motorcycle.
Yes it confused me also a little bit. The title made me curious and I started the video. But after seven seconds I immediately stopped it and thought `oh, oh, maybe this is not the right kind of video for a lunch break with your colleagues around ' 😅
