Iv been tattooing 12/13years. My back is absolutely destroyed lol. N yh its not a easy medium to get to grips with, especially on real skin, which swells, bleeds, moves, and sometimes u can tattoo a inch or 2 in one direction and the skin is completely different and you have to adjust your machine speed ,throw of the needle (how far the needle comes out of the barrel tip) hand speed, how tight u stretch the skin, to tight the needle will cut the skin, to loose and the ink wont saturate correctly. Its a amazing industry but yh you really need to get some proper technique basics in tattooing because it is not easy. Any advice u want @raedizzle just ask

@halloooo1duuuuu

I'd recommend using a pyrography pen instead for leather work. In the price range of this crappy tattoo machine you can buy a great quality pyrography station. It is easier to use I assume because there are no vibrations and not so many parts. It's also possible to use acrylic paint on leather.

I think Jackie also has quite a lot of mother’s in her viewing audience as a lot of her negative comments usually sound like (Karen) mothers who expect the world to babysit their children and get offended by everything, anything and nothing because they never place anything in the correct context because they’ve already put you in a box and labelled you a certain way that must be adhered to and don’t want to understand that Jackie is an adult who not only provides video’s on craft kits but is an adult who not only talks, behaves, acts like an adult but also tries adult orientated interests in her content as well. I got a tattoo the minute I turned 18. Here are some tips I wish I’d had: pick your exact design and ruminate on it for AT LEAST a year, plus use some of the temp tattoo options that are out there now to experiment with the placement (I think the company Kurtis Conner partnered with has an option for designing your own temp tattoo). Start with a small tattoo in a place easy to hide under clothes for future jobs. Find the exact artist you want by going through their portfolio and contacting them to get a consult on what you want to get. Then schedule far out so that you can make sure you get who you want, don’t just do a walk in or take who is available. If the artist you vibe with is an hour or two away, make a plan to put the funds for that trip into your tattoo fund. Do not settle on your artist. I had my design planned, but back in 2009 most artists didn’t have online portfolios in my area (some had MySpace pages, but not all), so I didn’t know which artists to go with or their portfolios. I was also very shy and very willing to defer to authority. I walked in and the artist that was working that night was high, though I didn’t know at the time what that even looked like, I found out he was later from a friend of his. He took the design I had made, then bullied me into changing it in ways I didn’t really like, but I still trusted it would look good when it was done. He ended up heavily scarring me and I’ve wanted nothing more than to get it covered up, but I became disabled not long after and have never been able to get the money for a cover up saved up (it’s hard to save money on $8000 a year, and what little I can save has ended up needing to be put towards other, more important things), especially since coverups cost more than the original tattoo. Also, since I got it in a visible place, I had to wear scarves at work on very hot, humid days. Not fun. This isn’t to scare you or anything, I love tattoo art and I would love to get more if I could afford it. I just wanted to offer some advice through the things I learned.

Love seeing new videos from my favorite art RU-vidr and this one was really awesome. Tattoo artistry is such an amazing but incredibly difficult medium that requires a lot of knowledge and loads of practice and hands-on experience with some fairly intricate and delicate machinery so I was absolutely stunned to see the piece Rae created over just a few days of trial and error (and RU-vid University😊.) My sister has been a tattoo artist for years so I have an appreciation for how much you need to really KNOW before you ever get close to creating art on human skin. It's really nice to see artists from other mediums take on attempting the tattoo medium because it really spotlights just how much training, knowledge, and practice it truly takes to be a tattoo artist. And I say that because many people still think that tattooing is nothing more than tracing a picture and coloring within the lines. When in reality it is a complex medium artists spend years learning, practicing, and continuing to hone just like oil painting, sculpture, or any other artistic medium. Thanks, Rae, for sharing your amazing talent and years of training but also showing the world that being an artist in any medium requires more than just talent or interest - it requires education, training and a lot of hard work.

You should reach out to a tattoo artist in your area, & ask if they could do a "colab" tutorial with them to help you understand the medium better. Process's with a client is measured through trust & experience discussing canvas area & art work. & if you feel brave enough have something done for yourself.

I have lots of tattoos and they don’t hurt getting them , especially compared to stubbing your toe... imagine your skin just getting scratched, and not hard either just a light scratch that’s what getting a tattoo feels like. At least arm tattoos... I only have ones on my arms.

I wish that was the same for everyone 😂 I'm starting as a tattoo artist and oh my I get scared with how much pain a person can be in when getting a tattoo, I don't find them that painful just like you but yes for some people it feels like I'm torturing them 😖

I’ve heard, but don’t know for sure, that an Orange or grapefruit peel is a fair substitute for skin, it’s just a lot smaller areas to work on. The synthetic skin looked like it would be a huge pain to work with

This is why people become apprentices to learn to tattoo.
@kaylen4930

It all depends on the person. My friend is self taught, and is amazing. She’s working on getting an apprenticeship just so she can get her name out there better. I have a couple pieces by her, and I love them
@TigersRforever
@TigersRforever 2 года назад
That's how almost all apprentices start :p you don't just get a job because you can draw well anymore. You have to have a natural talent for the machine too

I really think Rae would excel at hand poked tattoos! No worrying about the machine, less tearing through the fake skin, and way way more control! They’re a bit tougher to do on fake skin in my experience (especially the cheap ones lmao) but definitely doable!!

love watching your channel, I have several tattoos and their not that bad to get, it feels more like a rug burn. the point of my comment is I think you might have had the needle out to far, I don't remember my artist having the needle out so far
@masuart3338
@masuart3338 2 года назад
as someone learning to tattoo, that definitely makes it harder. She also shouldn't have the needle touch the cup the ink was in since that damages the needle
