Picked it up for $899! Coming from a 13 year old 27" Samsung IPS which back then was $900. Still works great! But the LG 42 is an order of magnitude better.

Im about to buy lg c2. What do u think about oleds so far? Im concerned about the brightness. The tv is going to be in a light controlled (with curtain) living room. My last tv was samsung LED but i never used it on a full brightness cuz i felt like fried sausage in front of it 😂

@@jcnba28 I think it comes down to personal usage. The sony is better for watching movies and console gaming. The lg has better pc gaming features and is a lot lighter with less bezel. I'll be personally keeping the c2.

42 is perfect for a small room tv or even a giant monitor.

For movies and games - definitely worth it. I play for 22 years, and it's the next big thing after HD. I had 120 hz monitor with HDR (this year release for comparable price), and this TV is way better for games and 4k. It really shines here. The movement is so fluid, the screen is big and you can see miniscule details in the distance. I'd say I was more impressed with fluid movement, which I didn't expect, as I thought I tested it on a PC monitor, and wasn't impressed. I tested it with CS GO, CS2, Quake RTX, Doom eternal - and the immersion is so much better than on PC. The colors, though, look great in games and movies, though it somehow doesn't work in SDR, only in HDR, but it's not a big deal. What I mean, for colors to display correctly HDR must be enabled in windows 10. In Stray the game looks just completely different than on IPS - you're just there, it's so much more 3-dimensional, and just looks correct. The colors - I'm not sure, but I didn't reach DCI-p3 palette on C2, it definitely looks sRGB, but with HDR. It might be to do with 120 hz, which limits colors (need to test a bit more). HDR looks great - artificial lights look very convincing, daylight in movies it's bright enough, but not to burn your eyes by looking at it. Yes, it could be brighter in some spots, there's always a room for improvement, but it would matter only in 5% o HDR cases, like very bright lightsources (sun, sparkles, direct flashlight). So if you're looking for best HDR content, and is ok with a bigger diagonal, I'd look into G3 series, if HDR is something you'd really care about. Though after 2 days, I feel like HDR is quite sufficient for the majority of tasks, as bright lights shining through the TV is something quite obliging for eyes. But I'm limited with size, as even 42 looks huge for a desktop use. It could be better - I wish sometimes HDR would punch more where sun or a flashlight is, or it would have 240- 320 hz, but the tech is still developing, and it's a good price. But what about IPS panels, if you use C2 as a monitor for productivity? IPS is still great for work, as for now, I feel too much eye strain with C2, when used as a monitor. It's also too big for me, I like a bit narrower IPS from top and bottom, as it give less strain. It's the first time in life when I realized a bigger panel is not always better for work. It depends on for how many hours you sit in front of a desk. If that's around a couple of hours for media, C2 is fine. But for 8+ hours - I'm not sure. It might be that my body didn't acommodate yet, as it's only about 2-3 days. Also C2 is not curved, and sitting 1 m away I still gel like it's too distorted, you get this ball feeling, so a curved monitor makes sense when you get a big diagonal. You need at least 1.5 m away from C2 not to get distortion. So my review: HDR - 8 of 10 (G2 has almost triple brightness, but G2 diagonals are too big for a monitor) SIze - 10 of 10 (G2 starts from 55, it's too big for me), I would not go more than 42 for a desktop (I tested 48 in the shop, and it was way too big, even though I have a huge desk) Blacks - 10 of 10 Matte coating - 3 of 10 (reflects as hell) Refresh rate - 10 of 10 (the best experience I've encountered) Colors - 7 of 10 (not sure about those, needs more testing. Looks perfectly fine for multimedia use. For color work - not sure, will play with refresh rate) Menu - 8 of 10 (I only dislike it's ccursor, which is hard to control) OS - starts fast, remembers input - 8 of 10 Design - 9 of 10 (minimalist, will look good anywhere. The stand for c2 42 could be better, just some small legs, but those are ok) I took of the protection layer the second day, as I was sure I keep it. It's a good all-around experience, unless you want the best HDR possible, ok with 55+ diagonal and spending at least double the price. So I'd say it's a great middle model under 1k, the experience is worth it C2 will get you to 90% of G2 experience, and this panel is a huge difference between VA or IPS. You can always get a bit better for much more spending I will consider an upgrade only after: 42 diagonal, or a 48 widescreen version 240hz refresh rate 1600+nits peak brightness I think it's still 3+ years away, so C2 is great for now for its price and size

There's almost no motion blur on OLED, especially at 120Hz. 175Hz barely makes a difference there, as it's already imperceptible at 120Hz. Watch Hardware Unboxed review of LG C1 or LG C2 for a detailed analysis on this and pretty much every other aspect you could think of and then some :D

How is SDR content/gaming? I have heard the tv is bright enough for HDR in dark rooms but very dim when view SDR content or playing SDR games. This is making me lean more towards a Samsung QN90B 43 which is a mini led.

@@ravic1754 Windows has auto hdr option for gaming and it works exceptionally well. So you do not need to play anything in SDR range. It is not dim for anything. There is a slider to boost SDR content brightness in Windows.

@@trafon31 well I’m primarily gaming on xbox series x. So I am curious how the c2 is for that purpose. Unfortunately not all xbox games support hdr and idk if xbox has a hdr feature

@@atrium12 I'm not buying those rumors, I strongly suspect AIB partners are spread g these rumors to sell 30 series cards. Nvidia have shareholders to answer to and amd breathing down their neck. If nvidia delay for any significant period I'd just buy rdna3 navi31 and market share loss is their biggest fear.

Same here, sold my aw3418dw and bought the qd oled version. Arrived with screen coating damage. I returned it n bought an lg c2 42. Just getting it set up, got a new desk and speaker stands. Mounted it on a desktop stsnd that can swivel and is height adjustable. Looking forward to gaming on it and everything else as well!!

@@GenghisJan Hello, used a perlesmith PSTVS18 from Amazon. Fits my desk fine, my desk is 55 inches long and 24 wide and it has a pc tower holder on the side. It's height adjustable and swivels as well. It's not super bully but not small either. Fits great on my desk, wanted the height adjustment and swivel! Has a heavy tempered glass base and heavy duty steel, it's a very solid stand. Fits 37 to 70 inch i believe, it holds the 42 c2 no sweat as its less thsn 20 lbs. Hope this helps, if your looking for an arm mount then there's vesa adapter plates that make it fit the larger size 300mmx200mm! Good luck!!

@@MrCPH22 Yes. Im using the cable that came with the console. Apparently its a known issue. Quite a few people online are having the same problem.

I had the same problem on LG C1 on first 3 days after purchase it. After that everything was fine

@@aizen2491 All LG OLEDs seem to be effected from what ive heard. Don't get me wrong. I love my C2. I use it mostly for gaming and its absolutely amazing for that. This issue usually happens once or twice a week though and is really annoying to have to stop what you're doing and reboot everything when it rears its ugly head.

@@JoshBenBernales the box had the manufacturer date on the flap and the label on the side. Though, you're pretty much guaranteed to get one made in the last couple months at this points. It's been out for a good bit of the year

I bought the C2 couple days ago from Amazon, it will arrive on 8/15 hopefully I will get the new evo panel. You are right about the C1, sold out in most places and if you find one they are selling at higher price. I went for the c2 42

48" is a really good size for that do it all role. And with 4090 juice, it's really solid!

The C1 for sure. If you can stretch your distance a bit further, the 48" C1 would be the best option, but I can't justify the BFI being locked to 60hz only on the C2, it made it feel notably worse in some content.

The way they cut glass it's actually more expensive to build the 42".
