like of course 👍 😅, I bought the c2 42" a month ago, to play desktop xbox series x, I play from about 90cm away and the accuracy of the image (even from closer) is incredible... even if I was undecided with the 48", happy with the choice of the 42. because at this distance, even after 2 hours of play, it doesn't get tired. in addition to having an accuracy at that distance that is unbeatable in terms of pixel density. nice video 👍

Great video! If it works for productivity it may work for me. I would read a lot and I'm still a bit concerned about text clarity. If the sheer pixel density can overcome issues due to things like subpixel layout and cleartype, I can decide.

Hi ren7a8ero! Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's ok for productivity, though coming from an ultrawide, I would prefer that over a 16:9 screen. If you sit at least 12" away from the screen, you will not notice the blurry-ness in the text on the screen. And compared to the new QD-OLEDs, the text are a lot sharper than those without any color fringing. Hope this helps 😉

I just ordered a QN90B 43inch to try out from amazon. No risk of burn-in. After a TON of research I ended up concluding that the risk of burnin and all the babysitting like hiding task bar and auto dimming is just too much BS to put up with. The QLED isnt as good as C2's oled but people say it comes really close in most scenes. If you are like me and do productivity work for 7 hours a day with a company ui that has white screens, the QN90B could be something to look at, if your curious, ask me again in a few weeks after I have seen it in person.

You do not need to use the monitor to show 21:9. In AMD and Nvida drivers you can set up a custom resolution that achieves the SAME effect with no need to go into the TV menu. Create the 21:9 resolution and then set it in your game. When the game loads you in 21:9 and when back to desktop you're back to 16:9

I bought the LG 42C2 this weekend to replace my 27-inch 1440 LG nano IPS. I was amazed at how good my current IPS screen actually is. I could not find any difference in colors vs the C2. The C2 was marginally better. Of course much better blacks on the C2 but with a low brightness setting (8) and faking contrast by placing a lamp behind the IPS screen, the IPS screen also produces deep blacks and very vivid colours. I was actually a bit disappointed in the best OLED from 2022. I really thought that it would blow away my nano IPS screen with matte coating but it definitely did not. The biggest reason to return the C2 was the max refresh rate of 120hz vs 165hz on my IPS. My hardware can't drive 4k@120hz max settings (3080ti) and you can definitely notice the increased input lag and smoothness overall due to lower FPS. Also, 1440p @ 27 inch is sharper than 4k@42 inch. Keep that in mind. I would pick the C2 if I could drive 4k@120hz in any single game at max settings.
@jdp117
@jdp117 Год назад
You really don't need to be using max settings in any game, it's a waste of frames. The difference between High and Ultra settings in most games is negligible. I've been running games at 4K with high frame rates on a 3080, making use of DLSS and mixed graphical settings and it's been an amazing experience. Maxing out FPS in CoD, Apex, getting 60 fps in RDR2. This obsession we have as PC gamers when it comes to "maxing everything out" is stupid and causes many people to overspend on hardware they think they need for a great gaming experience.

Thanks for the review. I am currently using 32" 4K IPS and want to try OLED. I'm deciding between C2 and Alienware F version. However, I just found 3 used C2 (all around 1-2 months old) ranging from $650-$800 in my market, so I want to give it a try as it is cheaper than a brand new Alienware. If I don't like it, I can still try to sell it and go for Alienware later. I will use the monitor more for productivity, and occasionally for gaming and movies, not TV. Just wonder why people are selling C2 only after a short period of use and from reading the comments here, many people are returning C2, too. Is it really not a good monitor?

Hi Strontium! You cannot reduce it to a 32" at 16:9 aspect ratio, but you can change it to 21:9 or 32:9 ultrawide aspect ratio which is about the same as a 34" ultrawide monitor and shrunken super-ultrawide.

I’m going to get this monitor, despite having a 2070s max Q gaming laptop 🥴. It seems that I’ll be locked at 60hz with only 2.0 HDMI support but I’m sure the image clarity can make up for lost frames on my conscience, plus when I do upgrade to a … omg wait…. If I have an Xbox series X and a 2000 series laptop… can I somehow cast my laptop gameplay to the Xbox … to the tv… to ultimately get 120hz … on my 2070 laptop?! MMMMMMMMMM… Well the only thing is… even if that did work, that’s a lot of power consumption and set up requirements. I guess it’s a good future proofing product regardless. 👍

Hi Vince! Better? It will be hard to say as I haven't used one that's not a display unit as the local prices here are around $2K USD. But if you are ok with ultrawide and find the 42" a bit too big, which I think should be ok if your desk is not too shallow, then the Alienware should be fine. Plus the Alienware is definitely brighter than the LG C2 42", so HDR would be even better on that :)

It is too big, but you will just need to rethink how you use it, plus extensive use of FancyZones, and it allows you to put windows anywhere and everywhere. @@vincenzocasano2772 to be honest, I actually kind of regret not getting the 48". But we don't have the C2 in 48 here locally, we only had the C1, so it was a decision between a sensibly sized 42 or an obnoxiously sized 48. I would've welcomed a bit more screen real estate, but having come from a 32, that's already a 70% increase in screen real estate (as measured in sqcm) going from a 32 to a 42.

Regarding the drawbacks he mentions, the auto dimming feature can be disabled if you buy a service remote, this will void warranty though. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uTz4DxwFcFU.html Regarding brun-in, long term PC users are reporting that the C2 is generally not prone to make burn-in. For the very paranoid owners, you can take measures by using dark color schemes in Windows, use moving desktop backgrounds with wallpaper engine, auto hide your taskbar, generally using dark themes in programs and put low timer on when to turn of screen during inactivity.
@alexgotbeans5953
@alexgotbeans5953 Год назад
Everything about the C2 is perfect for me, but the PPI is a deal breaker. 105 PPI just isn't good enough for me because gaming at 105 PPI even with the best possible anti-aliasing settings makes the image look jagged and blurry. There are no better options that I know of on the market right now, should I wait until something else comes out? Or is a 42-inch 5k screen something that isn't in high demand? I've looked into 32-inch screens, but I really prefer 42-inch. The issue is that a screen with around 140 PPI is a must for me.
@GamersClinic
@GamersClinic Год назад
Hi Alex! As of now, high refresh and high PPI screens for PC gaming are mostly capped at 32”. If you are not in a hurry, you could wait for the next generation 8K screens which could start appearing around Q2 2023. But I’m guessing they will be extremely expensive like when 4K was first introduced. However, if you don’t need more than 60hz refresh rate, there are a couple of 5K and 8K screens available, but probably not too high in demand from gamers like you mentioned >
@alexgotbeans5953
@alexgotbeans5953 Год назад
@@GamersClinic Hey Clinic, thanks for the reply! If there are some, what are some 5k screens available at around 40 inches that aren't ultrawide? If not, I've been told PPI isn't as important for eliminating jagged edges as simply having more pixels. Is this just false information? Thanks again.
@GamersClinic
@GamersClinic Год назад
@@alexgotbeans5953 If not ultrawide, there's only a couple that I would recommend for content creation and not gaming. You could check out the Dell Ultrasharp 49" U4919DW, LG 27MD5K 27", Ilyama Prolite XB 2779Q 27". Though there's none that are at the 40-42" range yet if you don't want ultrawide. As for jagged edges, it's true that having more pixels doesn't really eliminate jagged edges as that will rely more on your GPU's ability for anti-aliasing to smooth out picture and also higher refresh rates to make moving images/motion appear smoother. PPI however is still important if you want a sharper picture so getting a good PPI display and rendering your screen resolution at the screen's native resolution is recommended. Hope this helps ^^

How many watts does it consume for gaming
@GamersClinic
@GamersClinic Год назад
Hi Amod! In stress test using a full white screen at around 200 nits, it will consume 115-120W of power. However, in real world usage, it should consume only about 50-60 Watts when gaming which is a tiny 5W higher than my 49" super ultrawide CRG9. @@GamersClinic I actually asked because I wanted to use it as a monitor for my pc...a 4080 16gb pc will consume min 400 watts including all components of the pc...thats why power consumption of the tv comes into play as it will add on to the 400 watts..

@@aks1008 Ahh that's totally understandable. I used to calculate power consumption too to manage my electric bills. But truth be told, unless you are running the PC under full load 24/7 and the leaving the monitor on (which is not recommended), the consumption will be slightly lower than the calculated figures and not impact your electric bill as much as leaving the AC/heater on. Mainly due to me coming from a ps5 and 55” C1, I don’t know if I could use anything other than oled now without being disappointed. 95% of the time will be used for gaming. Hi Maizie! Thanks for the supportive words 😁As for HDMI vs display port, for now, you won't be missing out anything as long as you use a HDMI 2.1 cable which caps out at the max refresh rate at 4K 120hz which is the max of the C2. As for using the built-in speakers, you can just select audio output in windows to output via the LG C2 and audio will come from the TV's speakers. Hope this helps ^^
