4/12/2024 - BlackMagic just released the NEW DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel at NAB today! B&H has it listed for $495.00 USD Which is cheaper than the Loupedeck CT which is $605 USD. And with the Loupedeck you will have to fight to get it working with Davinci Resolve while the Micro Color Panel is designed to work out of the box! The other problem with the CT is that the 3rd party plug, it Will have to be updated for every new version of Davinci Resolve. Blackmagic, at NAB, just Announced Davinci Resolve version 19. It may take a while for small third party plugins to get updated to work with version 19 and beyond. Being that I just received my CT 10 days ago I returned it for a FULL refund and purchased the micro color panel! Hope this helps someone.
I received my new Loupedeck CT on 4/2/2024 and it is running version 5.9.0.19175 of the software. I just wanted to let people know that it does NOT come with ANY Pre-installed profiles for DaVinci Resolve!!! There are only two da Vinci profiles in the marketplace, one for the Color Page which cost $45.00 USD and one which is free and "It contains an extensive set of important editing functions, options for audio post as well as basic functions for Fusion". Just a note, I have not had time to work with either profile yet but I just wanted everyone to know that it does NOT come with a built in profile for Davinci Resolve so don't expect to be up and running out of the box!
I have been using one for years with Lightroom and I love it. It really speeds up editing wedding photos. I haven't used it much with PS but I certainly will after this video. FCPX is my latest endeavour and I can see how the Loupedck could be a game-changer. Great review as always, Rafael, very informative. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing! I avoided it for so long thinking it wouldn't make a difference I was wrong it's not a permanent tool on my desktop! Thanks for watching and the comment!
Bought one of these years ago and stopped using it. Yes, you aren't doing keyboard contortions anymore, but you've traded that for glancing down at this panel every time you want to perform a command.
Loupe folks should link this from their website 🙂 I love my Stream Deck XL but see the brutal potential of the CT here. It's been on my wishlist for ages now. A steep pricetag, €349 would be more realistic, and imho they'd sell more. But but, it's saving up time for an Elgato Prompter that's definitely more needed in my own setup, then the office chair, and... a Stream Deck+ was on the list as well. We'll see...
I didn't decide between Elgato Stream Deck + (w KNOBS) , just 15 Key Stream Deck or Megalodon Triple Knob Macro Pad or maybe this new device?. I'm thinking to buy the nob Controller too to make a Combo. Which one you will choose base in your experience?
The Elgato stream deck with the knobs was going to be my first choice, but I found it too limiting, the 15 key was I have for the longest time, but never used it for anything but streaming. This device for me has the best of both worlds and adaptable to lot's of apps that I use. Ultimately you have to try them for your self. And see if it improves your work flow. That is what I did, and settled on the Loupedeck for me and how I work. Thanks for watching and the question!
I find it INCREDIBLY LAME that there are no options anywhere, including in the SDK/API, that allow for momentary buttons. You can't set up an action that happens on button-down and stops or performs something else when button-up happens. ... at least as far as I've found yet.
If you use Premiere Pro DO NOT BUY THIS. The latest update doesn't work with it anymore. I have a useless expensive piece of kit now... The fix is apparently to uninstall and re-install the previous version, which will not be supported.
