I’m a 1 man show do everything on MacBook. I purchased Final Cut Pro 6 years ago because I didn’t want to pay for a subscription to something like adobe. I think it’s absolutely perfect for what I do.
Yes the current and only version that is available right now came out 2011, even apple refers to it as Final Cut Pro - no one calls it X anymore. The previous version which was sunsetted shortly after was a completely different app - only shared a name, it was a compete rewrite. I use Davinci for everything and I am the typical "one man show" who produces little video here and there for family and orgs I'm involved with. I also have live/recording audio background. Because of this, I absolutely cannot deal with the "iMovie-esque" audio system in FCPX. Fairlight wins me over, being intuitive to all other DAW-type software. I love that in Davinci I can throw an adjustment clip over a whole bunch of clips from one venue and color grade them all (to 95%) in one shot. Then do the same for the audio track. I can cut, edit, color correct, tweak audio, transitions, and deliver a video blazingly fast in Davinci compared to FCPX. All the crazy tools are there to do advanced stuff, but I barely use most of them. The appeal to Davinci for me is that each of the 'pages' presents the info in a way that allows for intuitive use if you have some background in that area, say color, or audio. As opposed to FCPX which forces you to use an inspector-driven and individual-clip approach for everything. Even when it is an entirely sub-optimal workflow - audio in my case.
Right on! Yeah the audio is leaps over anything FCP could do. Apple would have to integrate Logic into FCP to come close. DR is clearly the winner for you. Thanks for watching and the comment Will!

Bought one of these years ago and stopped using it. Yes, you aren't doing keyboard contortions anymore, but you've traded that for glancing down at this panel every time you want to perform a command.
I just bought my new IPad Pro M4 13 inch Now I want to use this for my content creation for RU-vid videos (don’t want to make very complex edits like Hollywood movies but must be very unique and astonishing edits than other RU-vid videos) Now should I learn Davince Resolve free version? Or Final Cut Pro which is obviously paid version? Please reply which is better for my above requirements Thank you❤
the most annoying part of capcut is their interface. ITS SO BAD that more often times, some features disappear for no reason. Put example the LAYER, so lame that you have to select a video just to adjust the layer order. Why can't they just put a separate panel for it so people wouldn't have to select each clip juts to adjust the layer order. OMEGA SMH! Rendering system is also very bad, it eats a lot of memory.
I don't understand your point, how on earth a NLE that lost everything it had, livetype, soundtrack, color, which in its time was at the level of what is now the resolve color page. Look, FCPX was and still is, an upgrade of iMovie to this day. In what world do you live in, so far, this program has never been Pro, lost that title, a long time ago. They thought, that the program would become something Pro, with Motion, very complicated.

you have consumer, prosumer, and professional. Final Cut is somewhere in the middle and the middle is a bigger market. Thats okay and DaVinci Resolve is phenomenal.
As I use both I must admit that I use DaVinci Resolve more. Adobe Premiere is too cumbersome using technology such as rendering first which is out of the game for me. Working on Apple computers only, I use anything from Final Cut 7 on my older Macs up to the latest and yes, Final Cut X has fallen behind DaVinci Resolve.

Final Cut Pro DID NOT come out 13 years ago. Final Cut Pro 10 came out 13 years ago. Final Cut Pro (1) came out 25 years ago released at NAB ( The National Association of Broadcasters trade show ) in 1999.
You are correct, FCPX came out in 2011 - that is what I was referencing. Currently it's the only Final Cut Pro, that I believe is pro no more. Thanks for watching and the comment Steve!
Wow! This just saved me throwing away my lavalier mic! it was blowing out the audio and everything was clipping in a super weird way that made it sound like garbage!
I loved the part where you explained how each editing tool has AI features and other things similar to capcut which is what made capcut an actual alternative to manual professional editing softwares.
This product fucking sucks, every time you upload a video to it it adds this weird filter to the video it's self making it look deep-fried. Also coming from a front end software development background the UI looks like shit. Save ur $17.
Ohhhhh snap! Apple and Blackmagic have been enemies forever......So maybe this is a first step to finally being able to edit ProRes Raw in Resolve too. Converting to DNG is so bad with artifacts if trying any compression at all.
Just an update since Timebolt is now $347 for the lifetime subscription and it seems like Recut is a one time $99/purchase. I'm not sponsored or associated with Recut in anyway, I'm just trying to remove some time from my workflow when possible. But paying hundreds for a feature that should just be native to Final Cut Pro out of the box leaves a sour taste lol
Hi Rafael. One of the things I like about Capcut is that unlike Davinci Resolve, for example, which my computer just couldn't run, it doesn't demand a super-powerful computer. Can you recommend an alternative with this advantage?
You are 100% correct, Apple fell asleep at the wheel years ago. They had a window to take over the editing space, but didn’t put the time and energy into it. They left the door wide open for Resolve to jump in and take over. In the next 3 years Resolve will be the go to editor and color correction king. Facts
Honestly, my frustration with Apple has really been pushing me to drop them entirely. I love my display and how the entire system integrates, but professionally, I feel like I’m wearing a weight on my leg and can't achieve an even workflow. If it’s not this one thing, it’s the REC-709 output and them being stuck in 1989 with Rec-1.9, forcing people find workarounds or spend more money on something else after shelling a stack of cash. It’s been years of this, and they haven’t released any information on trying to fix it. Resolve is much more useful, and the graphics card on these systems really stunts export times for the 1-hour wedding films I create. Add to that the fact they won’t allow external graphics card plugins, and I nearly lose my mind every time! They need to stop promoting these as PRO lineups. They are great, better than most laptops, but still not viable for professional use. But in more ways than I can count, they are really missing the mark on support and dealing with these issues.
Thank you for this great video. Can I check, do you need to use Gling to take the bad takes out of both videos or just one please? I have 2 cameras for a talking head video, I’ve removed the bad takes from 1 using Gling but can’t somehow get it to match up in Final Cut Pro
Just one camera in Gling, then export the xml from Gling as a Multicam - then in FCP add the other angles and sync up the video clips. Thanks for watching and the comment Dean!
What about someone who wants to do fairly basic editing and text pop-ups for RU-vid but only has Windows computers and an iPad M1. Would you say Final Cut Pro for iPad is worth considering vs Davinci Resolve?
I would save DaVinci, as it also has an iPad version, and the learning curve is the same. One week of RU-vid tutorials for DR would get you 80% of the way there for all you need. Thanks for watching and the question!
