Suggestion for sleeping in them. Get a hairnet to help keep it secure and then use either a silk bonnet or silk scarf to help prevent frizz. You look adorable.
I've done a similar thing for years. I buy 'bun makers' from Asian beauty sites which are essentially 2 'arms' covered in material that kind of pinch your hair as you roll it up. They're ridiculously cheap and I sleep in the 'bun'. In the morning my hair has soft curls that hold all day. Thanks for sharing 😊
It's a little funny that you were like, 'I don't like my 1960s flip in my hair"... then you ended up with a 1970s Farrah fawcett flip blowout instead... Just jumping a decade up 😜. I just bought a thing called the cozy curlers that would do something similar to this (meant to sleep in). I haven't tried them out yet but I'm hopeful that they'll be awesome. Another RU-vidr, Rachel maskey has used them and recommended them before.
Ohhh this is a gamechanger! I also have fine, flat hair with ends that never quite go the direction I want them to, but I also do not have the patience to deal with rollers or heat styling most of the time. But this... this I think I could do, if I can figure out the sleeping situation :D

I feel like I’d have no problem sleeping in this style! Maybe because I’m a side sleeper because I have tried styles that end up being more like space buns and very hard to sleep with. These would be perfect 🤩
So pretty! ❤ I have your same hair type, but very long. I have found that if I use a heatless method on damp hair in the morning, it’s set in an hour or two. You shouldn’t need to sleep on it if you have some time in the morning. Worth a try! 😃
First of all: Yay! Hair Tutorial Loepsie is back! I used to have long thick full wavy hair all of my life but lost about 2 thirds of it some time ago. I will definitely try this method since my hair is a lot shorter because of the loss now as well. This gives me hope at least 😊 because this method could be a lifesaver for me as well. And don't mind the focus. This beautiful wall needs to be shown. 😁

I have essentially the same hair as you Lucy and this looks great! I love how quick it is and as a side sleeper I'm not concerned about that roll at the nape at all! I'm going to try it with my Rockin' Rollers (which are long like flexirods but made of a pillow material) so if that works it will be much more comfortable as well. I think this style could look GREAT in a headscarf as well if you had matching or unobtrusive socks or manipulated the hair so no sock showed. If the front piece was positioned lower on the forehead it would just look like a scarf and bumper bang look, amazing!
Oh I did this with my old rollers. Yes it works and as I had your length hair and now quite a bit longer, I use a silk bonnet to sleep in. Silk is good for hair and keeps everything inside during the night. I'd like to know if you will continue this method.

A 60s or 70s (maybe 80s) wet set would work really well on both your length and cut and are quite easy to find on Pinterest. If I had your length I would also try something thirties but it might be too long already

I tried it and it was actually fine! I'm a side/belly sleeper so I don't usually lay on the back of my head anyway. I tied a scarf around the lower roll with the knot on my forehead below the top roll and made it through the night just fine 😁
I do this with those old school “hot buns” and it turns out very nice, but my hair does not hold any type of curl very long so I use mousse and setting lotion the spray it with hairspray. I do sleep in it with a silk bonnet over it. I’m a side sleeper and it’s not comfy, but I can still sleep

I think this hair styling might be great for my overnight flight from the US to Europe. With dark socks, it could be unnoticeable and discreet, and the final look is very nice!
Maybe if you use dish sponges in the inside of the sock it would be more comfortable to sleep in. If you use a long sock / stocking you maybe can tie it in place.
Try large rollers next time. You might like it. Curling the bangs was nice to give it some movement, maybe you feel this way because you have short bangs. Love the 70's result you got from it. Enjoy playing with it.
