There's nothing better than googling videos of rye flour hair washes results after you've done it yourself. 😃

I’ve watched mostly all of your natural no poo method. I just tried this method tonight. Wow,my hair feels fantastic! I’m growing my hair out because I’m tired of cost and unpredictability of hair stylists. I never thought I could grow my hair long, even when I was young, so the longest my hair has ever been was shoulder length. I’m 66 but I’m growing my hair out. My scalp and hair were so affected by shampoo. My scalp is healing. No itching and i had acne like bumps all over head. Probably what this was was severely clogged pores on scalp from over worked sebaceous glands. I also used sulfur soap on my scalp in case I had any fungal issues. That’s something to use periodically and good on face as well.

I’m 64 brown hair. This no shampooing is difficult for me for the reason I like to dye my hair. Days After dying I have to use shampoo to remove left over dye. Which, I believe just water simply will not do.

I’ve been washing with rye flour for 3 years now! I buy the white flour that is fine and blend it in a cup blender 1:3 ratio, usually 3 tbs flour to 9 TBl water and I add a drop of essential oil like tea tree or ylang ylang to make it smell so nice! The wholemeal one is useless and gives you instant dandruff!

You could probably put an elastic band around the material to stop it from falling in. I've used chickpea flour but not really working for me, so I'm looking to try this method as I've heard that rye flour is closer to our natural pH. Thanks for this! :)

I've been using the flour the past 6 months and this is my favourite so far! I have white rye flour, and that one is finer, and is easier to wash it out. I just make a paste and use it as a shampoo, it works just fine. If it's lumpy I run it through a blender

I use non sulfate shampoo once or twice a week. I have been spending a lot of time today watching your no poo vids. Can I go right to using rye flour and skip the baking soda/ACV? Or do I need to go through that part first? Thanks! (Congrats on getting married, going to watch that one next).

When I wash my hair I blend egg and milk and banana in a blender. I put this in my hair let it set, rinse, put more of the mixture in my hair maybe let it set, rinse thoroughly use vinegar in the last rinse. Vinegar is necessary or you will smell eggy. Most of the time I just rinse my hair with water and vinegar. I have long thin baby fine hair, and super hard water.

I am literally writing the same comment in every no shampoo video 😅. Just hope it helps someone 😊 Here's what I been doing with my hair after I've stopped using shampoo. There's this medieval hair combing method in which you simply brush your hair everyday for a long time (by long time I mean at least 30 minutes 😅.🌿 If you have short hair then brushing less than 30 minutes might work just fine for you🌿) . First I divide my hair in two sections. Then starting with one section, brush the hair with a very wide teeth comb. After detangling I take a little bit of coconut oil( because that's what I have. you can use any oil you want) and apply that on the ends of my hair (because that part tends to get dry. 🌿 You can use more than a little bit if it's necessary for your hair 🌿). Next step is to start combing the hair with a comb which has thin gap between each teeth ( is used for getting rid of lice). I just comb my hair from root to tip. Each section of hair for at least 15 minutes(you might have to clean your comb one or two times in between if it gets too dirty). And after I am done with both section of my hair the shine and softness of the hair is unbelievable 😄(🌿 if you are someone who doesn't care about having shiny hair everyday then brushing your hair every two days should be alright. You can try going more days in between brushing your hair using this method. If you are living in a colder climate then you might not have to comb every day. Try to figure out what routine works out for you. Rest of the days just brush your hair how you normally would 🌿). There's no grease of flakes on the hair. It feels and looks like freshly washed hair. I don't use any other products on my hair. Simply use water for washing the hair. But I tend to make a bun every other day while showering because the tips of my hair tends to get dry if I wash them every day. But I make sure to get the roots of my hair wet and just massage them somehow with my fingers under running water 😅. Rest of the days I just wet my hair completely while massaging the roots a little. That's what I've been doing for the past three months. And everytime I tell someone that I haven't been using any shampoo,soap or conditioner the surprised look on their face is real😁. By the way, I live in a tropical climate and I have thigh length (2a/2b type) hair which is bleached from the mid length to tip. Never had to deal with the greasy feeling neither do I have split ends problem with my bleached hair because of this medieval combing method😊. Never had itching problem. My scalp smells just like my skin ☺️. So give it a try. You can just search medieval hair combing method on RU-vid

@neyson220293

I do it similarly except that I use brushes; one with many many bristles at night before I shower because I get rid of dandruff and dust with it and one with fewer bristles in the morning for detangling and spreading the sebum. the one I use at night with many bristles leaves my hair horrible but cleans it nicely, and the one I use in the morning with fewer bristles leaves my hair nice and shiny. is there any difference between comb and brushes?
@nazninaraoyshi8388
@nazninaraoyshi8388 2 года назад
@@neyson220293 There might be a little bit difference between combs and brushes. I think combs do better job in cleaning the hair. But after detangling you must use a comb which has thin gap between each teeth. I use a comb which we normally use to get rid of lice from the hair after detangling. And the shine and softness after combing the hair is unbelievable 😄. Plus it's much easier to clean a comb everyday then cleaning a brush( that's just my opinion though 😅). And as far as I know those medieval era ladies used to use comb to clean their hair. Combs which had thin gap between each teeth was available at that time as well.

I have hard water and yes it is a problem! I wet my hair and wash with rain water (we have rain barrels during the summer and I save jugs of it during the winter). That helps with cleaning. I do rinse with the normal shower water, which is hard, but once it's clean it is less of a problem.

I've got fine hair and I've been using rye flour for about 5 months until my hair stylist told me to stop using it, because he has seen how rye flour dried it all out. I asked him how this works for other women then and he said that they probably have thicker hair than I do. Unfortunately this doesn't work for me :/ I couldn't find anyone else with the same experience though.
@kittimcconnell2633
@kittimcconnell2633 2 года назад
You need to alternate rye flour with a non-protein wash. Protein is good for your hair until there is too much. Also, if your hair and scalp are dry, you might want to add a touch of oil to your hair after washing whilst it is still damp to hold in moisture. If your scalp is oily like mine, try aloe vera juice to add and keep moisture. I quit shampoo almost 4 years ago, my hair is a lot healthier for it. There is a lot to learn and different things to try.

I think that one good thing that could be used to strain the flour is an underskirt made out of polyester or satin polyester! We use that to strain our kava and it works sooooooo well!!
@MegaThefuture
@MegaThefuture Год назад
Just be careful because polyester leaks microplastics which are extremely harmful for our bodies and environment. Try using linen gauze or cotton for straining.🍀😊
