I think this could be great for people with physical limitations or disabilities to curl their hair because regular styling tools might not be as accessible
This is by far one of the funniest Brad Mondo videos he’s posted I have been ROLLING the entire time. Every time he says it’s cool and RIPS the mannequins hair out the face he makes kills me. Curler 5/10. Video 10/10.
Brad: ok I have the secret, it had to be completely vertical. Let’s try it on long hair Also Brad: continues to hold it on a tilt and wonders why it doesn’t work on long hair 😂 Said with love ❤️
Exactly!! I was screaming at my screen! 😂 You just said it had to be vertical! I first thought that maybe once the hair is inside if you lifted your thumb from the button that seems to pull/curl the hair up might help as well but not sure it works that way.
I used the conair curling wand when it first came out and it wrapped my hair in two opposite pieces around the barrel and tangled them together. It would not let go of my hair and my hair continued to just fry and burn. I had to rip it out and will NEVER trust any other products like these again. Too scary.
I actually own the older version and once you get the hang of it, it works amazingly! I have straight-thick, long, Asian hair, you’d be surprised at how efficiently I can curl my hair with it. Also, it’s decently quick and my arms don’t get as tired lol
@@notaseat5934 LOL, ngl the first time I used it, a section of my hair got caught in it. However, no hair was harmed. It has a “reverse” button, so you can curl hair in opposite directions. I just used that button to unravel my hair in the opposite direction, if that makes any sense.
Wow! That’s so cool! Thank you! I want to buy some curling device and i even thought about dyson airwrap, but it’s too pricey. I’m also not sure if some regular curling iron would be the best option, since i don’t want to spend much time on doing my hair. I have extremely fair hair, so i guess if this stuff works for your gorgeous asian hair, it’ll sure work for me.
Lol I bought like 4 versions of this (or possibly even cheaper ones from like wish or DHL) and I love them all! Only 1 is wireless and I just wish it wasn't so loud the whole time my fiancé makes me leave the room lol
@@annsche460 i can give you some inexpensive suggestions (if you didnt read my other comment - i got like 4 or 5 different types that do the auto curl) are you wanting super tight curls or looser curls? I would recommend buying a corded one if you are going to just buy 1 but having a wireless one comes in handy sometimes
I bought something sort of similar in 2014 or so. And the curls came out AMAZING! Until the day my hair got caught and tangled in it. It burned/ripped out so much hair and I promptly threw it in the trash. Not worth it. It hurt so bad to get it out. A regular curling iron is just fine and has much less of a chance of major issues.
Brad smacking the head down onto the pole was both creepy and hilarious😆. He's like "I ain't got time for this. Let's go" lol. His demonstration is EXACTLY what I predicted would happen just by judging the looks of that thing. It looks like it would tangle your hair and rip it out. Glad I saw him do this before we all go out and try this thing out 😆
This would be a product good for us who are disabled. Maybe only have 1 arm, or get super fatigued and can’t hold your arms up for long periods of time, etc. I can’t curl my own hair, because I can’t see the back of my head, and I get way to tired way to quickly to french braid my hair, let alone curl the whole thing. This product would make me want to actually curl my hair
I bought my sister a very similar one to this supposedly made to work better with longer hair and when they work, they're stunning. There is definitely a lot of trial and error with them but I think they're worth it, especially as you say, for those with health/mobility issues.
@@chapman1569 oh, I’m not saying this product itself is good. I believe he asked “who is this for, why can’t you just use a curling iron” and this was just me explaining it WOULD be good for those of us who are disabled or get fatigued easily, but this product needs to work better, and be cheaper
Wow thank you for showing what can go wrong and how to actually use the product. I had wrist surgery and can't twist my hand for a regular iron anymore. This is something I believe will help me thank you!
I just love how tiktok brings back technology that’s been on the market for over a decade now… I have a babyliss curler since 2013 that does exactly the same thing, it has 12 different settings but has a cord so I guess it’s not hip enough for tiktok 😂
These exact curlers have been meme-ing on every other platform for a couple of years now lol.. it really is cute that Tik Tok thinks they're ahead of the times as they recycle old fashion and old memes like they're brand new
I randomly bought a super cheap one of these before tiktok took off cause I saw it on some website - Turns out i had the babybliss version sitting unused under my sink b/c my mom bought it for me years ago At the time I didn't understand what it was and all i saw was me ending up in another round brush situation...those don't end well for me
This makes me laugh soooooo hard... Mainly because Brad is usually so good at so many things, and this makes him seem so much more human and approachable! Thank you for failing for us Brad. 🤣
Brad I love how you give us natural reactions. The difference that I see how he holds the hair near the root and that keeps it from twisting. Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it!
I have the Conair autocurler and it’s my favourite hair tool ever. It’s so easy and if it ever starts to tangle it immediately stops and releases your hair. I’m accident prone and clumsy so this is a god sent! I can curl my full head in 10 minutes, but not meant for big sections at a time. 10/10 ⭐️
Watching Minnie Quinn’s hair getting ripped out like that made my scalp hurt. Thanks for the laughs Brad 😂 and I’m sorry you had a rough time with the set up for the video
Your videos are super helpful, but I mostly watch you for your great sense of humor and being very real, unlike so many "influencers" out there. Thank you for all you do!
I have chronic fatigue so keeping track of a hot iron would turn into a pretty dangerous situation rather quickly, so I look forward to trying it! Though thankfully I have lots of wigs and extensions to try it out on first 😅❤
I never usually have acting negative to say about Brads videos, but this was so insulting. You have a massive fan base and following and have a great career and talk about not putting any effort into what you do !! A total CAN’T BE ARSED BUT I HAVE TO VIDEO. 1/10 for effort of the video and the use of the curler. 😮
I would be way too afraid of getting my hair stuck in that tool like I have done in the past with a round brush! 😱🙊 I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! 💞
I love this video... Brad is so entertaining I love it when he puts his foot against the mannequin head and pulls like hell LOL epic fails of curling irons and new tools etc
The chi spin n curl it’s freaking amazing! 1inch automatic hair curler Has three different timer settings 15/17/19 seconds and it spins both ways , best part it automatically turns off and stops the moment your hair “tangles”. Does not pull on your hair you’re able to effortlessly take hair out do it again and that only happens if you didn’t brush your hair before hand if your hair has no knots then smooth sailing
I have the same wireless curler at home and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Don't have much hair, it' s very thin and not too long. Maybe that's the reason why it works so good on me. I must say, there was one time where my hair got stuck in it😅 Regardless I really enjoy using it (even though the beeping gets very annoying after doing half of my hair😂).
💀💀🤣😂🤣 Boy I am high key terrified of machines that suck your hair in them lol. You’re so funny! Laughed so much! Thank you for making my days better ❤️
Once curled my hair with one of those contraptions and it took three hours! 😂 My hair is very thick and i have a lot of it. Got my hair stuck once and i swear I died inside.
That's particularly problematic with this one given that Brad said it only had an hour of usage and takes all night to charge. It would take 3 days to do your hair. LoL
I have a very similar curler that I got at Costco 2 Christmas’s ago. It is Conair I believe and came with a cordless straightener as well. Mine does not have directional buttons. It does have a digital menu where you can adjust and set the temperature (360-400), the hold duration (8-12 seconds), and the direction of the curl (R, L, or mix). They recommend you choose the opposite curl direction as the side you’re taking hair from. So if you take hair from right side of head then you’d set the curl direction to L and your curls will go back away from your face. For random beach like curls you could set to ‘mix’. I have medium length (a couple inches past my shoulders) course, wavy curly hair that is naturally dirty blonde but I lighten it to a level 9 beige blonde. I’ve always had to use somewhat thinner sections of hair no matter what tools I use. This is no different. I take my usual size section of hair, comb out the section so there’s no tangles, hold the tool under the section of hair as high on the hair as possible, then push and hold the button. I haven’t found the angle I hold the tool to make any difference. Then wait for the 3 short beeps, let go of button, and pull tool down off of hair. Mine doesn’t have the multiple lengthy beeping. Occasionally I will let go and immediately push the button for more setting power (that won’t work when set to ‘mix’). This gives me perfect, long lasting curls every time. Times when I’ve used too much hair or didn’t comb my hair before it went into the iron it would get tangled. The iron beeps and unwinds and you then remove the hair then comb it, take a smaller sections, probably both and try again. This tool is a lifesaver when traveling and takes up minimal room to store!
I feel like it makes a difference which side of the curling mechanism you place it on. I think all those times it twisted around itself it was on the wrong side maybe 🤔
I have a curler that looks just like this but is a different brand. The main difference I can see is that mine doesn't beep for the whole waiting time, just beeps when its time to let the hair go. I love it. This is the easiest, quickest thing I've ever used to curl my hair. The only time I've ever had problems with my hair getting caught in it is if I've tried to rush and haven't separated and combed out the section properly. I could tell everytime Brad was going to have an issue because you could see the straggly pieces of hair weren't in the slot properly before the curling started.
I have one and love it! I have very long hair, and I usually get that twisting issue a few times when I’m using it. Not sure why it does it, though! BUT, my mother-in-law has rheumatoid arthritis and fell in love when she saw me using mine. It’s hard for her to use a regular curling iron, and this has saved her so much pain in her hands. Definitely a handy tool for people who have a difficult time with a regular curling iron. ❤️
I tried this and my hair tangled and I almost had to cut it off to get it out of the machine 😂😂😂 am I the only one completely unable to curl my hair at home with even the most fool-proof technology 🤔🤔
A great video idea is going through that closet and re-testing old products that thought they would not see the light of day… And thanks always Brad for bringing us awesome videos like this even though it was a struggle today. ❤
I figured it had to do with the angle being held! As it's meant for someone to do on themselves, doing it behind/next to someone will be holding it differently. It looks like a great tool for people who can't use two arms (injury, disability, etc) but who still want gorgeous curls!
I dont even brush my hair unless I am in the shower with conditioner slathered. Aint no way my hair is going in that thing but I glad things like this exist for those who need or want them
i bought the conair unbound auto curler or whatever tf its called a few years ago or smth & its amazing fr. im an idiot and for some reason cannot for the life of me curl my hair with a regular curler 😭 the auto curler is so quick & easy and comes out perfect each time. your hair will only get tangled or stuck in it if you put too big of a piece in at a time.
Hi Brad, love your channel. I bought that last Christmas 🎄 and yeah, it pulled my hair out, lost the charger and now it's still in a drawer. Thanks for teaching me how to actually use it!
Brad take smaller sections and make sure they are cleanly brushed. I’m so shocked I’m having to tell you I this isn’t working on the long hair. I have a product similar to those and yes you have to take tiny sections if you have a long hair and make sure the hair is brushed and very neat with very small sections, I emphasize that again
We’re having a little attitude today, aren’t we? 😂 sweetie the vibe not good. When you’re not ready or things don’t go the way you plan it just take a break and then do it again when the vibe gets better 🤦🏽♀️
Have this type of machine and I can confirm that it works great. The beeping is really annoying and if I may say so way louder then it needs to be. Also if one uses too much hair for a curl, the device turns itself off and resets the settings you picked for which way the curls gonna go. Other then that it's awesome
So I have the more expensive version of this, I think it's Conair? I love it. I have a really bad wrist, and this works amazing for me. I just toss my hair in it, and within 10 minutes, my hair is done! Also, no, I don't get my hair wrapped in it because you can tell when it gets fed in wrong the second it starts, and you just stop, remove your hair, and do it again.
Thanks for that. 😆 Nobody showed that it can go wrong too. Good to know before I bought some that u still need actual skill with that too. And I tbought no skill needed x
I think hair are meant to go in the opening on the side, not on the top 😅. It should prevent it from getting twisted outside of the curler. I guess 😋. I mean - why elese would it be there? Nevertheless love Brad's determinatin ❤️
Idk I'm tempted to give this type of curler a try! I love the look of curly hair but hate curling it. I have very fine, straight hair that doesn't hold a curl well, if anyone has tips! Also, I checked out wireless curlers on Amazon, and there's a bunch of them on sale for Black Friday!
I have the same hair. I’ve honestly tried a million pro products but now find when wet I use a mousse (old school my mom used to use one too but I found from kenra I like ) make sure hair is dry and brushed out so it’s not crunchie (and then sometimes a heat protectant spray with hold if I’m good) and finish with a little fine mist hair spray
I'll let you know. I have fine, straight hair that doesn't curl. So I bought the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Miracurl SteamTech Professional Automatic Hair Curling Machine, Blue and with the steam I feel my hair will be curly.
I've had one of these for years ... I love it as I always burn myself with normal curling tools. I'm sure your one is a more up to date version. It gives great curls
@Bee Crispy ooh ouch ..... honestly, it's super simple to use, and if you try too much hair it just refuses to turn. My friend is a hairdresser and she was amazed by it.
Omggggg I'm getting so frustrated watching this!!! LMAO!!! I know you absolutely hate reading directions Brad, but come onnnn!! Sometimes you have to!! Lmao!! Or at least listen to the girls on the videos! She said you have to put the hair in, then it will beep once and you hold it and don't take the hair out until it beeps again. COMEEE AAAHHHHNNNNN!!!! LMFAO!
I like mine a lot though I'm still getting the hang of it. You HAVE to make sure you're holding it the right way, up and down, face the opening for your hair away from your face. Also, eBay you guys! I got mine for only $25 brand spanking new! You may not get that good of a deal because I'm literally a professional online seller and I'm trained on finding the cheapest items but you can definitely get it for under $50 right now! And even cheaper still if you buy pre-owned. Save our planet and buy pre owned once in a while!
It's literally so comforting to see Brad having the exact same problems as me with this thing. I am a paraplegic, so a regular curling iron doesn't really work for me. So yeah for people with disabilities it's useful.
If I remember correctly, that thing was a trend like 10 years ago. It wasn't wireless though. The brand was BabyLiss and back then, a lot of people had it?! Or am I the only one that is familiar with this sort of thing 😂 I had one too and was always terrified that my hair gets stuck 🤣
Yes got one of those , actually the curl was bomb and lasted days , but( and it s a big one) the hair definitly got stuck .. first couple time i manadge to pull the hair gently out of the machine , one day i coudnt , my hair burned ( locally i took verry fine section as i got scared more than once) it was a hot mess , i would NEVER try one of this gismo again , wayyyyyyy to dangerous for long fine haire who get tangle easly .. i think it s only good for thick hair who do not tangle that easy ... be aware of a catastrophy using this shit 😏 i thruw mine straight away never gone back 🤣
Brad this is the generic one hence the issues lol! I bought the $99.00 unwound one my hair is way past shoulders and it works. The charge time SUCKS but I’ll saying curling iron is quicker though lol
This item is ok for the price but I honestly don’t think this is for a black person hair our hair texture is so much different . There is a huge difference between hair TEXTURE and hair LENGTH. 😊
Well the people on tiktok made it seem way easier than Brad did. But honestly I’m just living for this quality entertainment. Can always expect a good laugh on this channel.
Oh and actually you want to do the left curl on the right side of your head, right for the left side. Remember it's opposites. Basically, you want the curl to curl away from your face. This opens the face up instead of boxing it in.
I think it's designed to use on yourself. @BradMondo try it again wearing a wig. The angle makes more sense then, and it actually might be easier to use than curling iron (at least for inexperienced people - you don't have to be worried about burning your ear etc.)
Thanks for showing that we should not buy this crap and just accept that we straight hair girls just have to accept that getting curls is not that easy. Thanks for being you Brad
He didn't show any such thing. Every single time it tangled up it was because he was holding it on a tilt. Watch the video again watch it closely if he holds it vertically the way you're supposed to hold it it works great when he holds it on a tilt it tangles up. It's a great product, it just has to be used correctly and Brad has muscle memory for holding a regular curling iron on a bit of a tilt plus he's facing the camera trying to do it and that makes it a little harder to hold it vertically
It's getting messed up because when you put the hair in it, the mechanism that pulls the hair into it is grabbing through the middle of your section so strands of hair aren't taken at the base but their ends get mixed up and then obviously pulling on it is making it worse. Edit- almost like when you have a regular curling iron and you take too big of a section and you get the bits at the thumb piece that tangle. I'm not sure if this is making sense at all! Idk how to describe it lol.
I think Conair does make a version of this. I have the Chi Air Spin n Curl which works similarly but is corded. I think it works great & never had it spin my hair like that.
I have the Chi as well and i love it. I actually would prefer it being corded because i have thick, long hair. I would worry that wireless one would die halfway through the job.
Brad, i clicked on this vid so fast but i gotta say something important.. i got that exact same brand Wireless curler for xmas last year and i put a right amount of hair inside not notted or anything but it broke and my hair was stuck and got fried off 😊i turned it off but it kept smoking, my hsir would not come out no matter how hard i pulled even the “safety” reverse button didnt work. My mum had to cut it with the kitchen scissors. My hair has finally gotten a little longer so i can hide it. It was so bad lol!
As of Friday I will be homeless & living in my car. I was litterally just wondering if there was such a thing a battery operated iron. Question though: does the charger run on batteries or do you have to plug it into an electrical outlet?
I’ve been looking into this because I have a medical issue which keeps me from putting my arms above my head. I’m very limited with how I can style my hair and I really would hope I can use this because you have to keep it vertical. I’m still nervous to buy it.
I threw mine in the bin yesterday after just two years of having the Wylera one, it doesn’t charge up properly and therefore cuts out when in use, the only way to use it is to leave it plugged in at the wall and the wire isn’t long enough to be able to do that so in the bin it went! It also trapped my hair once and although the curls were beautiful and lasted it just wasn’t worth the hassle. I’ll be sticking to transitional curlers from now on. I’d advise everyone not to waste their money on this!
Have you ever reviewed the Chi curler? That’s what I use. For reference, my hair is 52” from the crown. I’m a Caucasian red-head, suuuuppper thick hair. It’s my favorite curler of all time, the only one that will hold a curl without spray. It does this beep thing and release when hair gets stuck.
I’m not really a big hair person. I don’t do my hair. I got a haircut for the first time in 2 years. That being said. I religiously watch this channel and now I feel like an expert about something I don’t do 😂
Just got one (the Unbound by Conair) and so far, I love it! You have to take small sections (I had a snag but hubby helped get my hair out lol) and make sure your hair is brushed lol, but other than that, it’s great. Getting the back is a challenge but it’s doable
