In this video, I take a look at one of the weirdest discs ever created - the Aerobie Epic. It is a disc with an epicyclic design that makes it fly farther on a tomahawk or a thumber than it does on a regular backhand or forehand. Its rim is thicker on one side than it is on the other and its what my most recent youtube video is about. Hope y'all enjoy!

I played in a tournament at Sherando in VA and this dude used one the whole round overhand and he could throw it o er 600. I think they banned them shortly after

Cant say how much does it affect aerodynamically but it gives slight leverage advantage. Compared to same weight regular disc you get little more kinetic energy. Aka more mass further away from your hand.

If you watch where they land, you can usually find them. Some people have spotters positioned to help.

@@gozer33 600 feet is a LONG DANG WAY and if there are any trees, you can't guarantee it won't get stuck in one. Never mind not wanting to go after it, or having your line of sight obstructed. A spotter isn't gonna help.

Epicyclic design? You mean factory defect? I imagine this disc was born from an accident where a disc wasn't well manufactured, and then somebody sparked an idea.
