In this video, I use the wide-open space of a soccer field to demonstrate the importance of regularly throwing every disc in your bag. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, knowing the exact distances you can hit with each disc is crucial for improving your game. If you have pointers for my throwing form, let me know in the comments! Thank you for watching, and happy throwing! 🥏

It looks like you extention on the backhand is a little too far directly behind you. I try to extend my arm out to about 7 o'clock or a little left. I find it helps me avoid rounding on my pull through. I really enjoy throwing in fields. I love being able to throw full power without hitting trees! Nice distance on your sidearm with that Raider! I don't know how you do it with just 1 finger, but obviously it's working great for you. Keep up the good work

Thanks for the pointer! Yeah, I've been reminding myself of that recently, but sometimes I get back into that habit of pulling back too far. And yea, open shots are so much more stress-free without trees lolol! Yeah, my grip on forehand shots is a bit unconventional I'm learning, but I have noticed I've been picking up some distance on the shot lately, which I love! Preciate you supporting my channel!

great fieldwork! I notice two things in your form that sticks out. Your head is too far forward facing in the reachback and the plant foot is also not as perpendicular to the target as you'd like. The rest looks fine, and should solve itself pretty well with practice and fixing those two things. Just make sure that turning the head more doesn't make you round during the reachback.

Thanks for the tips! Yeah, been trying to work on where I place the plant foot, but I had not really noticed where my head was positioned. I'll look further into that now, so thanks! I appreciate the tip and the sub.

Thanks for the sub! Yeah, I'll plan to shoot another one soon where I can throw my whole bag and get up to the drivers too haha. In Asheville, Lake Julian, Highland Brewing Company, and Richmond Hills are where I play the most. A bit outside of town I LOVE Haywood Community College, Mars Hill University, and Jackson Park. Try those out sometime!

Beautiful setting there in Asheville. I live down on the coast in Wilmington. I do fieldwork also. It really does help my game as opposed to just playing rounds all the time. I've just been playing a little more than a year and I'm older at 61. My max throws are around 250 and that's forehand and backhand. I doubt I'll ever get past 300 lol.

It sure is! So beautiful here. I love Wilmington too! Haven't been able to hit up any of the courses there though. Will have to do that soon. Hey, getting to 300 consistently took a bit for me too. Proud of you for getting out there and working on your game. It's a great sport for all ages and keeps you in shape for sure.

At least twice a year? Lol, it's basically all i do. For reasons i won't mention here i can't play that much actual disc golf, maybe 5 times a year, so all i do is go to a soccer field (or a regular, farmers field lately, since the soccer one became too small for me) and throw all the discs from one side to the other and watch them fly, and then throw them back.

Yeah, I think if you play regularly, you should do fieldwork at least every 6 months. If you can get out there every other month that's great. Obviously, for you that's different. I think a lot of people forget how much fun fieldwork can be!

@@BraxtonCritcherDiscGolf True about fun, it's not as easy as it seems to score a goal from the other side of the field, and you can have fun with different lines too. Plus there aren't many constraints like there are on a course usually so you can really air one out if you so wiah.
