I've learned all of my tricks on a wake skate for wake boarding by cutting toward the wake and doing the maneuver in the air and landing feet first in the water, then transfer it to a wakeboard. It hurts a lot less than falling on the wakeboard!
I love the sideburns on the guy operating the cable! Hahaha. Awesome job wakeskating! It is super hard, but so fun for a change of pace. Humbles you a little but the basics of riding come through strong.
looks that you have a lot of fun. The Raley off the Kicker is great. The weekend before i startet the season in Italy, warm water and the cables are epic :-)
Yesterday I tried wakeskating and it was fun as hell I think you should get more in to it just like me. Jumped 4 ramps yesterday and landed, most fun thing ever keep doing it.
Amazing video as always - standing up on a knee board is also really fun because you can turn even less than on a wake skate! Also any chance you could try foiling under the cable?
Having not done it yet, I keep imagining this being easier than skateboarding, because of the margin of error, in skating you have to land pretty much in the direction your going but with wake skating you have more room to twist into where you want to go. Am I arrogantly wrong? lol I'll find out when I get one

Jake, that's awesome you're getting into it. So for a complete beginner, it depends if it's for the boat or cable. But basically if it's cable, i'd advice a 'flex' board, and if it's for boat, i'd advice a 'traditional core' board which doesnt flex. Then for bindings, if you think it's just you who'll be using the setup, then I'd recommend closed toe bindings, but if you have a few friends wanting to use the board, i'd say open toe as they are more adjustable for different feet sizes. I'm a big obrien guy, so I'd recommend for the boat something like the valhalla, the format or the contra (all very easy to use boards) and then for cable the freemont or even the SOB. Hope that helps!
I dont get it, why are you making a big deal out of "trying" when you are already and accomplished wakeskater. Just seems odd. We already know you love it....because all wakeskaters love it.....either way some sick riding man....
