@@deliroous LOL. I don't know what inventory days are. I just assumed with big box stores they match inventory #s everywhere they can. I haven't done retail since college and that was more luxury goods so we never had to count inventories as it would be obvious that if the computer said we had 2, but we only have 1, then there was a major issue or theft that happened along the way. I was just guessing when I commented that. 😅

I worked my butt off like crazy, brought a huge smile to work every day, had an insanely positive attitude, and still got treated like human trash the 2 years I worked at Target. Right before I quit they gave me an 11 CENT “raise,” and told me not to worry because that was average. They said I was AVERAGE. Former trainer, proudly no longer working with Target.
Felt this. I worked there for a few yrs as well, and my coworkers were good, and management was fine enough considering its retail. Just they were super passive-aggressive, and the job was unbearable with the physical workload sometimes. Also, the constant changing amount of hours. The bullshit 10 cent raises as well no matter how well you worked. What made me quit was when I called out one time that year, I got a "conversation" about it. It kind of triggered me seeing her so happy and doing this. Most people I knew who been there more than a couple of months were not happy and drained to hell. And greatly neglected.
I love how you protect people's identities. As someone with bad social anxiety. Having a camera put in my face is a nightmare. It's cool that you're able to show a story all being so respectful to everyone around you.
I love how this kind of thing isnt negatively affecting the target employees like some videos, where theyll go on the walkie talkies or smt like that, this one, your just genuinely helping! Thank you so much
Imagine going into work at 1pm not be stuck following ridiculous rules for actual workers and leaving when you feel like it. Yeah sounds like anyone would like that vs waking up hella early and staying majority of the day.
For real, she's doing all the easy stuff, now go in the back and do back stock for three hours and try to make things fit on the shelves when there's no space :)
And was not safe standing in that shopping cart.... if she fell or something and broke her arm or the products then what would have happened? Ya not a wise decision to do this kind of thing.
Omg next time she decides to clean a public restroom she really needs to pack some cleaning gloves-or just walk over to the cleaning aisle and buy them at Target.

I used to work at target. The cart you found and started stocking looks similar to the carts they used to grab customer's orders. If you put them away you could have really messed things up. You said someone else was stocking it with you so I'm sure it was fine. If you're going to do this, I would find someone that works/worked for the companies and ask them how things work so you don't mess things up while trying to help
If the cart was just sitting there... it's most likely not a cart used by store shoppers. They're usually on strict timelines and don't usually wander too far from the carts (if they even leave the cart at all). That was in fact most likely a stock cart that was waiting for someone who was on lunch. You gotta leave product on your cart otherwise other employees jack them for their own use. 😅
We got rid of those tubs (we called it those) in two stores I've been at years ago. I'm surprised Targets still have them. Thought it was mandatory for them to be gone lol.
To anyone reading: PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS While we appreciate you'd like to help, employees often place items in different sections while engaging with customers or checking off other stock. Reorganising can throw a curve ball when in the middle of accounting for what items have been moved/ missing/ stolen. Also, please do not clean our bathrooms with handsoap and paper towels. It only spreads germs around and makes the room smell clean without eliminating any bacteria. It is a health hazard for you and extra work for our cleaners. And the most important thing, DO NOT USE A FULFILLMENT CART (the red one seen in the video). They are assigned to specific sections and staff, and are their responsibility. It appears you used one found in the beauty section? That is not your cart, and is essential for our staff fulfilling online orders and knowing what orders have been completed. I'm hoping you didn't remove what was already left in the cart. If you would like to volunteer help, please let our managers know on the day. I'm sure they will oblige.
I get she was being nice but I worked there and she definitely got people in trouble that day. She was pushing a drive up / pick up fulfillment cart with stuff in it so she probably took it and put back someone order that the employees have to fill in 45 minutes or less.. and it’s during the holidays..
And Idk the vibe is not sitting with me as a former employee. I just remember going to work being exhausted and in physical and mental pain and it feels like mockery “best day ever!” While doing no research beforehand and “stocking” things that were picked for peoples orders, and she probably stocked things in the wrong places too, everything has a very specific place and you can’t overstock in certain areas. What if they were recalled, picked for a guest, expired etc or meant to put in the back or a different place? It’s kinda bad now that I’m remembering this…

Yeah I think the whole video is a lie.. she either works there already or previously gotten permission to record a special video. I don't think workers are allowed to give out gift cards and she's definitely not giving them to the ones who may need it most(the actual other workers)

Sadly, if they did see it they might pick the video apart. It depends on the company though. If it was Walmart they would try to say she was making them look bad. Or they could claim she made the mess to defame them. Security would get fired for not noticing her "trespassing", I swear the list goes on and on. Bigger companies always try to find fault in someone else's good deeds. As I said Walmart especially, I'm not sure about Target specifically. I had the misfortune of having to work for Walmart. And the number of illegal things they did/ tried to force me to do. I can assure you I couldn't have gotten out of there any faster!
Former Beauty Target Member here- i highly do not recommend stocking items. That WILL mess up their inventory count, and cause more problems down the road than you would think.

Exactly. At stores we have to check how many of each items are put on the shelves to make sure they were actually stocked on the shelves and not just stolen off those carts.
Just an fyi target doesn’t call them customers, they’re called “guests” It was mandatory, if you called them customers you would get corrected immediately by management.
As a previous employee. That cart is used by flex. They pick up items from the isles to pack and ship to people’s homes. I really hope the cart was just temporarily being used to store go backs because if it wasn’t, you ruined someone’s pick.

i worked at target and they’re so strict it’s surprising no managers have freaked out on you yet. especially if they noticed you hadn’t taken a 15 or a 30 for lunch (had they thought you worked there). they would be on other peoples assesssss about going into compliance
well since she wasn’t on the schedule for 8 hours no one was going to yell at her over breaks. my store if you’re on the floor they just expect you to be responsible enough to manage your own breaks at your own times & freak out 5 minutes before you hit compliance if you’re not clocked out for lunch yet

Actually worked there and my feet would hurt so badly from being overworked not allowed to sit down. Nice to see someone actually making things a little better. But don’t mess with the 2 tier carts or the cart with the tags to scan. those items are picked out for peoples orders and you could get someone in big trouble for messing up a pick up or shipping order.
My husband was so pissed a few weeks ago bc he had a cart of things and left it for a minute to grab something in another aisle and came back and it was gone / suspect an employee took it. He gave up 😭

You seem like a good natured person. Word of advice, value your time. No amount of money can buy you a second more in time. Use it to help people in real need, Target does not, though.
1. this is sweet, but i don’t think it comes from the heart. i doubt she would’ve done it if she weren’t able to record it & post it on social media. the things views will make ppl do… 2. i wouldn’t go into a workplace & start doing things for them without knowing protocols & how stuff works, u could get someone in trouble if u do something wrong. like the part where you took everything from the cart to put on the shelf, what if someone had to scan those items first before putting them out? or had to rearrange them differently on the shelf? u shouldn’t try to do someone’s job for them with no instruction bc if you mess something up it’s gonna be on them (whoever’s area it is).

@@urbanexplorer6783 when I worked at Kmart awhile back we had to scan everything that came off the truck before it was stocked. In my case they'd give me a cart full of stuff to scan then stock. Idk how target really does it.
The cart she started stocking off of was a fulfillment cart which means all those items were meant to be packed for an order 😂😂😂 girl is hilarious but should really relax when it comes to these “free” shifts lol

This makes a mockery of actual employees. Some of those customers will expect the same service and gift cards from actual employees who are given non-customer-service work to do, and cannot afford to pay for customers purchases or buy gift cards to give away. I'm glad you're having fun though.
My local Target is understaffed and if people go in there and do this, it only helps the corporation justify they don't need more employees or that the employees don't need more hours to get the work done. I've never worked at at Target but did work in a department store and someone doing this would have been stopped by management so quickly because you could easily become a liability.

Omg i worked at target. That cart she emptied was a to go order... an employee spent all that time getting an order ready and shes like hehe im helping. Now they have to get it all over again. STOP WORKING FOR FREE, especially when you dont know the place. Give the free shit to the employees they need it.
Everyone saying “how sweet and wholesome!” has never worked a retail job. This is at best annoying and at worst actively sabotaging the work of employees who are there to pay their bills. If you wanna cosplay a working class person (only way happier, because you’ll never actually have to grind there 5 days a week to survive), by all means, put in an application and go through the process. Don’t just hop in, that actively makes other peoples’ lives harder. Then customers get upset with the actual employees, because they’re doing actual work- not just sweetly leading customers to individual items and giving them free gift cards.

Okay, okay you got a lot of positive feedback, but transpassing to volunteer to work at Target without permission has to be criminal, and should not be tolerated at all anywhere. You’re trespassing, and soliciting inside a store (giving gift cards with no receipts)inside a store. How is that not wrong? I would have NOT accepted it. I get it you’re being a sweet angel, but that can backfire on the person. It’s not “ working for free,” the proper term is VOLUNTEERING! Nobody works for “free”. Anything involving work equals pay- so remember for the next trespassing at another store like Walmart you mean-volunteering. 🙄
It is highly illegal!! And I know at my store personally we would’ve gotten so chewed out for allowing a costumer to disguise themselves as an employee and work for free. We probably would’ve gotten out 15 min breaks taken away.
When i worked at Target we used those red cards for online orders lmao so she may have ruined someones progress. Also, we kept count of items in the back vs whats on the shelf so shes probably messing up the inventory too
If the items are already on the floor the back room team already scanned them out of back room inventory-but nice try on the attempt to ruin a purely positive video.
Tip: at target we refrained from saying “customers” and instead said “Guests” because the company wants the guests to feel welcome and not make it seem like they just want your money 😅 (I worked at target for about a year)

While the intention is good, the reality is not. Firstly you are not insured to work there so if anything happened to you, they’d be facing a multitude of legal issues. Secondly, you are taking away the work from people who get paid to do it - that is invalidating their job and if they are unionised then it again becomes a massive issue because you are taking their job away. Thirdly, you don’t know the ins and outs of the employees day to day job and whether you just completely screwed up some work they were doing, or had planned to do, or were in the middle of getting done. If you want a job, then get one but this kind of attempt to gain views on social media is ridiculous. If you want to help people, then actually help people. Use your platform to train people in skills they can use to get jobs. Show the successes, and work with companies on helping people put their best foot forward for this.
Please, no matter where you go, don't ever get on your hands and knees to clean a public bathroom. ESPECIALLY with no gloves on! My sister in Christ, I beg you never to do that again!! And please be careful, you don't know what's being taken down for changing planograms or what's being recalled. There's a rhyme and reason for everything in the store.
Hi. Please don't do this as an actual employee at Target. Say you got in an accident. Target isn't responsible for that. Not to mention we have very strict internal guidelines for how things should be which varies by store. Just because you can tidy things up and whatnot doesn't mean you can just work for free.
It’s so funny u did so much work for so many departments when most of the time it’s the team members in that specific department who have such a workload that they can’t get to it. So honestly thank you for this, ur a legend even just for 9 hours👍
Bruh she's living proof people want to work, we just also want to make a real impact on our communities and be treated with respect. Especially if our financial needs are met already.
