I Tried WoW's Newest Feature - Delves.

According to Naguuras interview with the Delve guy, they're built for people who can only get 15-20 minutes of uninterrupted game time. They also plan to up the difficulty to feel very challenging

There will be a tier 13 difficulty which is just a 1v1 with a really hard boss. Its been confirmed in naguuras interview

I love upgrades similar to anima powers; they were the best part from Torghast.

From what i understand, delves are going to be different in other areas. I hope they are interesting

Add random cosmetic rewards on the ground like a "fallen adventurer" and you can get a whole delve set

I think what made Thorgast such a chore was the fact that it was mandatory to get the Legendary, Timegated, and you couldn't catch up. Literally forcing you to do 2 thorgast run per week. From what I see, Delves are optional and spammable, I think it will be better. I will probably have a lot of fun with them for 2-3 weeks. And that's fine

I was really hoping these would be essentially solo m+, something to do when your homies aren’t around or there aren’t enough of you to make a full group. Don’t like the random powers.

They did say in interviews this will get harder maybe its just me but saying this is easy or no good its still in the early stages

maybe the torghast power could be an option for those who don't like it. because I loved the torghast system, i played it for like 4-5 hours every day just improving my builds and time.

Not bad, I like the pace. Up the difficulty though and I think we got something.

As a solo player you can do upto 9 of this weekly to get your weekly chest

Somehow, I don't feel the URGE to play the next xpac like I always did. I got into SoD because of your vids, and I am deeply enjoying it. Bought my wife new laptop and now we're running around like newbies, killing mobs, questing and dying, just having an amazing time and lots of fun.

I like Delves. They remind me of when side-scrollers were becoming 3D type of games and they tried to keep that side-scroller layout. I love it.

I don't want those random pickup upgrades, that is really not the vibe for me, personally. It's just quite annoying having to stop the momentum of exploring and going further just to read whatever random thing you find that temporarily enhances your power or whatever. It really does not add anything to the experience.

I think the the small buffs arent a big deal its a nice touch. Theres no build to chase (as it appears here) which i think is the most important. If you didnt pick up a single one, would you feel bad? Nope. Solid W

I'm guessing the powerups are there to help less experienced players get through the delves. It'd be nice if there was an option to disable them, and maybe even an achievement for not using any powerups in the more difficult tiers. Still, I really like the idea of delves.

Yeah it’s Torg reskinned so long as it’s not a mandatory to progress your character through some silly currency I see no problem with this imho but that’s just me

No matter how hard i try to play retail i get bored in 4-5 mins max and exit game

Everything in this game is either too easy or stupid difficult because they have homogenized every class to have mostly all the same strengths and no weaknesses. Weaknesses being the crucial element. No resource managing, no position concerns, no health concerns, no armor concerns, to name a few things. They gave every class the ability to counteract everything and loads of free "big dam" buttons. Obviously that is not conducive to a challenging experience. They design themselves into a dead end where the only solution is to crank numbers to the absolute max which caters specifically to meta-gaming. I remember solo questing in vanilla WoW. It was solo gameplay and I often encountered great challenges, and it didn't hinge on some instanced npc-follower crap. It was long journeys in a big open world. I could look forward to actual character progression from completing hard quests. Crazy ain't it?..

i really hope delves are actually challenging content and not faceroll EZ gear.

I enjoyed torghast, it actually got challenging at higher levels, but it wasn't enough to keep me interested in retail back in shadowlands >.> Since WoD I've basically just been playing for the leveling experience and story, end game never keeps me interested anymore, yet i did enjoy raiding in Wotlk and Cata. But I played wow religiously from vanilla to Cata as a kid so maybe I just got burnt out cuz even SoD I quit as soon as I got to phase 1 end game of farming instances for loot. Loved hardcore while it was popular tho

Wanted something more like gw2 fractals with unique dungeon mechanics like the freezing snowstorm you have to guide yourself through or jumping puzzles more than just killing trash to get to a boss that does nothing interesting and you basically 1 tap

Also this literally looks like pve plunderstorm and taste like torghast 😂

it doesnt look like something i would want to pay 15$ a month to play on top of 70$ price. hope the new rated bg system is good.

kinda disappointing that they have toghast power ups, just removes any predictability or the fun of being able to play your class well.

Thorghast 2.0?

I really don't like the time to kill being so short on retail, it looked like you were 10 levels above and fully raid geared... but no you were in starting greens. This is the biggest reason keeping me away from retail. Even though I think they're heading in the right direction, the foundation has just permanently changed.

Needs to be more challenging off the start. No kiting needed, frost novas, sheeps, etc. Things dying too fast. Once you get gear it should start getting easier, so gear feels more impactful. This has been the problem with retail for many years now. The power ups shouldn't be in the game either.

Yeah am I in the minority for actually liking torghast? The gameplay and mechanics of it were fun, the problem was that you had to do it on every character every week

Idk if it’s just me but I really don’t enjoy how in retail they gatekeep content by making it so that you need a certain ilvl or have completed the campaign. Just make the content difficult. I don’t wanna be forced to do some shitty questline to get better gear and unlock new zones etc.

Level 13 of the Delves will be a Mage Tower boss run like room, you need to complete all Delves on atleast level 11 to be able to go in Level 10 Delves will be Mythic+ level 5 in difficulty, what equals level 15 on retail atm.

I completely agree with you on the powers, I feel like they're redundant here. Why not just put a reward if you want something hidden? As in, currency, or even a gear piece, something to make players anticipate what's on the end of the Delve.

Powerups seem horrible. Part of an MMO is developing your character and this doesn't do that due to the power ups. I really want to like this expansion but I dunno

I think people will realize that finding/using the right treasure/buff at the right moment will be part of the challenge. The buffs look like they activate the moment you pick them up and last only 1 minute so activating them at the right time will be key at higher tiers.

if this is level 2 delve then a level 1 delve you must just walk in and open a chest. my 3 year old toddler could do this shit.

It's a big no to me :( If I wanna play some solo boring content, i'll play some zelda or elden ring or smth like that. I don't get why blizzard spends ressources on this type of content. The last "pve" feature I liked was the 1v1 tournament against elites in orgrimmar, I cant remember the name but it was dope (You were able to see others doing their duels, It was imo pretty hard), I think it was wod Edit : The brawler guild or smth

Delves may be the only interesting aspect of wow retail for many players. Unfortunately, the game is far too bloated to be welcoming for new players. A BiS gear solo path should be added to various classic iterations of wow. Retail is just a mess after 2 decades of meandering story, lore, and senseless content added.

Make WoW a mobile game next.

Solo pve experience. Well, this is just sad and isolating people into not participating with other people. World of warcraft used to be social interaction what made it fun and different from other games that you had gotten used to just solo play. This change and new content is not ok.

Thank you to test it, I didn't buy the expansion and I don't think I will. Seems still bad. I'll stick to classic era / sod. You pop into a "rare" and insta kill it and loot epic upgrade like thorgast... you don't "feel" the epic nor the rare challenge. This game is still empty of feelings.
