I tried Youtube Shorts for 30 days...here's the unexpected results 😱 

I started my channel almost 6 years ago. From May 2017 to September 2022 I got to get 490.000 subscribers. Then, after resisting for a LONG TIME, I decided to give in and start posting shorts on a regular basis (3 every week), and my channel EXPLODED. I started making millions of views on shorts and I went from 490.00 subs to over a milllion in about 3 months, and that is INSANE. I still post 3 shorts every week, and not all of them perform as well as some others before (when I was at the "peak" of the growth), but they are still having an amazing performance. PS: That is something that is NOT converted to views in your long videos, though, which is something I kinda put on the back burner.

Here is what I’ve done, I posted 3-4 shorts a day at the same time, for the last 28 days, I scheduled them. I went from 382 to 530, I got 60k views and gain 148 subscribers, they were between 5-10 seconds. I got 2 videos that went over 5.5k and at one stage I was at 12k views in 48 hours. Quality over quantity doesn’t work for me! I put up quality and it gets 50-200 views and post shorts and get 2k plus

Good analysis. I am also posting 3 shorts a day currently and yes they’re good for views and increasing subscriber numbers. However those subscribers don’t necessarily convert to long format views so it’s quite niche. Earnings in terms of RPM are about 70 times more for long format over short format so you really can’t afford to take too much time over your shorts so don’t spend too long on quality. Most frustrating aspect is not having control of thumbnails because eye catching thumbnails are so important. Don’t forget if you use copyrighted music some of your earnings are taken to pay for it.

We`ve started a kids channel with our 4 years old , its been hard consistently releasing 1-3 videos per week . Doing shorts seems a lot more attainable especially when producing content with a kid. This was great video.Thank you !

I’m shy in front of camera and my English is not that great so I stay behind camera. I think that’s why I have low subscribers. That’s okay! I enjoy making videos though. It's great that you're communicating this genuine experience. There are many youtubers that mention that after 30 days they monetize but you showed that this is not true. It is difficult and youtube is to earn money in the long term, it is not for the short term. Now the shorts you added are going to start adding more subscribers than you already have.👍 Now, I don't know how you were able to monetize this channel with almost 300 subscribers? How did you do it? I enter this video and I see that there are youtube ads showing on your video.😮

Thanks for sharing your experience, I did something similar, starting with 1 short a day and end up with 12 shorts a day, scheduled a short every 2 hours, got great number of views and double the number of Subscribers. The challenge was to get new content every day, Monday evening I planned 50 shorts videos to do at least 10 per day and keep doing this for 2 months 😊, not an easy job but worth it 🎉. I’m close to get my channel monetized now.

Here's what I did to get my views up on some of my videos use hash tags & create content that will catch someone attention like the trendin videos and do your research that's how I found out that hash tags is a must do..if your reading or on this video period you're heading in the right direction hope your channel grows don't give up!! It take time..don't get impatient you got this & does anyone use inshot video editing app?? I love that app it takes a lil work but got a video on the main thing I was struggling with at first should I post it ??

I am still learning and searching on what niche will I do better but for now, let's just continue grinding and support one another! ❤️

Based on my experience. I started posting youtube shorts 7 days ago, and guess what? from 300 subs gained +247 and 50,524 views with an average 0:15 view duration. Here’s what I did, I’ve posted total of 10 videos per day first 5 videos (interval of 2mins per video) , then after 30 mins. posted another 5 videos with 2mins. interval per video. Check from your Google Analytics the best time to upload your videos.

Hello, thanks for sharing this information, I created my new channel this year and I realized shorts are doing better than long videos.

In my suggestions, first try to post a content and if it doesn't get views, delete it and post it again then change the title. Second, observe what time your content is viewed the most, once you know the specific time, schedule your content posting at what time it is viewed the most. You should immediately catch the attention of your viewers in the first 2 seconds of your video. Posting 2-3 content a day will not work if you are a begginer, unless you already have many subscribers. Don't forget to put keywords in the title, description and tags. YT analysis is a great help to know the performance of your channel. I have 63.5k views in my 20 days of posting 1 content a day with almost 120 subscribers. I already know a little about the youtube short algorithm. Take note, quality is way way better than quantity. Very short seconds of viewers watching won't wount. I hope it helps my fellow beginners.
