It's something I would love to do if I had more time. If this becomes something I can do a little bit more fulltime, then definitely. Thank you so much for the kind words 😊
You could add some Blackshields to the list of Kitbashes, Like Endryd Haar, Erud Vahn or Nemean, or not any character in particular and just member of warbands such as Dark Brotherhood, Disciples of Flames, Fangs of the Emperor, Gerasene Host, Third Covenant or Ashen Claws. Btw love to see you finally using blue stuff or atleast trying
It's definitely an intersting idea. I do want to branch into some more niche Space Marine groups. There is a lot of room for imaginative ideas thats for sure.
Nice work! Pretty faithfull recreation, I like that you got the knees to look right to the old model with the wings to, feel like thats a detail alot of people would get lazy with. Nice to see someone giving the blue stuff detail casting a go to, really feel like it could be a great way to copy details from old models but not really seen anyone try. Gives me confidence to try the same with the old metal Shrike model!
Great job, man! Very impressive conversion. If there is a BA model that urgently needs refurbish is the NEW Sanguinary Guard. They look chunky, chubby and stormcastish... if you could so anything about it (I know this is not an easy challenge after such a disgraceful creation was made) it would be greatly appreciated.
I absolutely love your content, man! Kitbashes are my favorite Warhammer videos, and I think you're one of the best! Keep up the good work, lots of people love it!
Excellent conversion. I am going to miss Corbulo. Between being removed from the Blood Angels line to the sloppy fat-guy voice the narrator gave him in Devastation of Baal, Corbulo has taken a serious blow to his dignity! You done him a solid.
Absolute bonkers conversion here! Your is very true to the original, but Primarized. Wish GW would make a new Primaris brother Corbulo, as they made a wonderful work with Dante and Mephiston. He is a quite important character in the Blood Angels chapter, especially since he's the one who put in light the unstability of the new Primaris geneseed. I'm a broke, lazy f*ck when it comes to conversions so I might steal your method one day. :P
He looks great! I like the choice of the apothecary power pack! Out of curiosity, have you ever thought of doing a reverse kitbash? Like taking primaris original models (like Adrax) and turning them to first born style?
As someone getting into the hobby, making my first army(Space Wolves) I would really love to see what you can do for a Harald Deathwolf kitbash, please.
Amazing kitbash, for me you nailed what a primaris Corbulo would look like. I don’t know if you take suggestion, but could get a shot at Kardan Stronos of the Iron Hands ?
I most certainly do take suggestions :). I have a massive list of mostly community suggested conversions in the video description; it's getting quite large haha! Stronos is most definitely on there. Thank you very much for your kind words.
This is honestly such a skilful convertion! Love all the choices you made, i would say the reason the old backback works so well is because it makes the figure less top-heavy like the primaris one does, maybe if you swapped one of the servo arms with one from the old kit? Also, i think if you tilted the pose slightly more leaning back, you’d get more closer to the original pose. Just my two cents! Seriously though, subscribed
I totally get that. Two reasons I went for this. It fits the primaris theme and it looks cool. However, I am still on the fence haha. He was actually tiled back a lot more than he ended up, but he looked like he was going to fall over, drunk on Sanguinius' blood. Thank you so much for thr kind words.
It's something I would like to do for sure. Currently, I only have the time, between work, family and my own hobby/social life, to do the Conversions. If I am in a position where the channel takes off and I could possibly do this more fulltime, I would definitely do that. Thank you so much for the kind words! 😊
The only reason I didn't is the original has a standard chainsword called Heaven's Teeth, the only difference is that is has a blood drop on it. I also thought it would look too busy on the model. Thank you. :)
I really like this kitbash and think you did a brilliant job translating the design over to primaris but man, considering he's the Sanguinary High Priest I feel like Brother Corbulo deserves a proper redesign to better reflect his position within the chapter.
There is sometimes beauty in simplicity, but i totally agree with the re-design. I like to produce my own versions in the hopes it might inspire others to try. Thank you for the kind words. :)
Brilliant conversion. Using an antenna for the narthecium is utter genius. Been doing crazy conversions for decades and it's rare that someone's conversions wow me at this point. Nicely done.
Very kind of you to say, I am glad you like it. I do try to approach my Conversions with the mantra, 'there's a bit for that'. It works most of the time, not all the time though. Haha
I think you made the right choice with the backpack and the kitbashing looks really good. Though it makes me wanna try and put the primaris arms onto the classic backpack.
This was a great watch, the blutac trick for cutting delicate bits is such a good idea, and I would never have thought to use the shoulderpad iconography for the legs!
Pleased to see you tried out blue stuff! Worth sticking with it... look like some water remained in the cast which can cause the imperfections... I try to remove as much as possible first but i also roll the grilliput in from one side to squeeze out any remains also you can use a lot less so you can fill the bit your after and not have so much to clean up
It definitely is a taste thing. As I said, I am still not 100%. I do feel the new one fits a Priamris better, but totally get why you feel the older one is preferable to yourself. Thank you fo checking the video and commenting. :)
BLUE STUFF TIP: When working with blue stuff it's still very useful to have a mold. I make a mold out of LEGO bricks. That way you can build a little container and put enough blue stuff in that you have it filled up and get a smooth top. Then you can push in the bits you want to copy. Afterwards you can use LEGO to make the container higher if you need to make the copies 2-sided. If you are done you can deconstruct the LEGO-mold and have a nice workable blue-stuff brick you can see through and cut neatly.
In the same vein I recommend trying either Tamiya quick type or magic sculpt in the blue stuff mold. Quick type is the best putty I've used over all, but both of these maintain sharp edges better than even milliput + green stuff. Magic sculpt is a slight bit more brittle
It's definitely on the radar. 100% honesty here, but I love Space Marines, however the main reason is because they are popular and help my channel grow. Once I get to a position where I know a video will do 'well' regardless of what it is, I can branch out. I do hate that about RU-vid, but this is the way currently. I really do appreciate your enthusiasm for my work and the kind words.
They are just standard Intercessors with an upgrade sprue really. You are right though, be nice if they got the same treatment as Dark Angels abs Black Templars have.
I based with Cadian Fleshtone, washed with Reikland Fleshade. Layered with a 1:1 mix of Rakarth Flesh and Cadian Flesh tone. The highlighted with Rakarth Flesh as well as a mix of Rakarth Flesh and Pallid Wych Flesh.
@@WePaintMinis if you don’t mind me asking, how do you trim the logo from the pad so accurately please? A short video would be good if you have a chance
@@sub39h Sure thing. I clip big chunks off to start and just use a combination of my knife and sanding sticks to file away and the extra bits. It does take some time, but with a little patience, you can get a good result.
Absolutely amazing! I'm most likely going to do a new collection of about 3-4k of Blood Angels, and when I do I AM doing this! Thank you for inventing the wheel for this conversion! Made my day.
I think both backpacks have their advantages. The one with the arms gives him a nice bulky look, but the old one has that gadget on it that kind of looks like a shrine, which emphasizes the gothic look. Fantastic job on him either way!
my favorite kind of bash. biggest compliment i ever got was when people asked me where i got some of my minis when i built them myself. awesome work here. Paint job as well.
