@@galoo5004 They don't have the plates anymore, and they were hitting 210 the first try without them. They just have tapered spacers that keep the HP at 550. Without any restrictions, they'd go 230 easily.
@@justinkrizenesky no, it's like that to resemble a clock so you dont have to look at the tach for very long to see where you are. If its pointing down you're at 6000, if its left you're at 9000, etc.
@@MrJohansen incorrect. Most oval cars have different tach setups depending on dash displays, steering wheel placement, etc. To my knowledge, the Arca car is the only one with this specific arrangement.
Just to drop in real world experience...I have my tach set so 10,000 is at 12...if my needle is straight up im where I need to be on Rpm... And then I inatalle a digital dash where 12k is bright red haha
British noob? oh yea totally, driving boat-like American V8’s at an American track without practise edit: smh like ok so even if i am being an idiot everyone is so toxic lol
@@racecardriverrr4201 damn bro you're an actual moron. It's a joke. EDIT: This brainiac's reply "bruh why is everyone getting so triggered, i guess i just didn’t get the joke." You sir, are the joke
@@sebastianL42 especially since people forget that they literally ran this race with 0 practice. Like none. So they didn’t know what the cars would do.
That would be a fine and points deduction IRL. It's thanks to Brad Keselowski uploading a picture from in the car during a red flag at the 2012 Daytona 500, and NASCAR said 'yeah nah' shortly after.
Drivers have eaten... well, they've attempted to eat in the cars before, the two notable ones ended up with a driver covered in jelly from a PBJ sandwich, and the other had a chicken sandwich ripped from his hand and out the window by an errant blast of air.
I'm just here for play button reflection Jimmy in the intro, honestly. [It's meh-NARDS, BTW. Menards is like if B&Q were 100% American and 8000% sketchy]
IRL these cars only had the twisted look on the short tracks and 1.5 mile ovals. On superspeedways and regular circuits they had a more symmetrical look.
Love the fact that the on-screen graphics and timing still haven't changed since their origins in NASCAR Racing 2002! The dash, shifter, cockpit all still so familiar.
1: can we talk about how youtube this is GTA V 2: my experience with nascar in iracing, qualify last after spinning every fast lap, spin in the pitlane before green flag, catch up, someone hits me and i retire
The NASCAR chicane is there because the cars will not be able to handle the 210+ MPH speeds going into turn one, plus the brakes will not handle it. There will be way too many brake failures and everyone will pile into the first turn and die.
I really enjoyed that! I still find it amazing how iRacing is based upon the original Nascar Racing 2003 game. It took me a while to realise why the spotter's voice and the HUD seemed so familiar!
iRacing has its fair share of problems like any sim, but when you get a good competitive race it is ridiculously fun and really shows how epic sim racing can be as a hobby. Enjoyed the video! (also lol'd at the Alfa Romeo car livery...)
@@TheFoyer13 it’s like that so you can see your speed limit RPM (there is no MPH indicator in these cars) or if a driver wants to have their shift point at an exact 90 degree angle so it’s not in the way of the steering wheel. Although in recent years NASCAR Cup Cars have a digital dashboard now so this is obsolete.
"offset the 'MERICA" "Tea to fend off the damn colonials" LOL Jimmy you're the best. As an American fan of yours who has friends who race in the ARCA series its awesome to see you do this. These cars are build short more short track racing than anything else. 1/4 mile to 1/2 mile are very typical. Also pronunciation note: Menard's - Sponsor of the series, big retail company in my home state of Wisconsin. MIN-Ards. Keep it going JIMBO!
Yeah, midwest boys represent. Menards hide and seek should be an olympic sport. Also for anyone who doesn't know, Menards is basically ikea but with a lot more murica.
they added that frontstretch chicane because a cup car going all the way around nascar 3 and 4, and across the line flat out would be near 200 mph, and no one would make the hard left rc1 turn
I love this type of vid, very entertaining. I hereby make the suggestion that you drive around Daytona Roval in a BTCC car, we need some British Nascar action and you don't need different tyre data because GOODYEARS baby!!! Fancy that, not a "Hey guys" gag in sight.
@Jimmy Broadbent, I am in love with all kinds of racing, even the road course races now. The Mazdas are even a blast, and you sir are the reason for that. And, I would be right to say you would have done and did so much better than I would ever do on this track, and that's saying something. I have gotten so much better. But good sir, this is what you do and I am happy as can be for you to get 7th, even after spinning and fighting that car the way you did. I would have probably finished with a 17x and probably made a lot of people angry finishing close to the end of the pack, lmao. You are an inspiration, and I wish you would jump in more of the American cars and race more often. You would be a great addition to this style of racing. You could be one of the best in my opinion. Thanks for keeping the great content going and you rock man. Good job Jimmer!!!!
Did you watch Goodwood it was really good and they had a ve super car hrt commodore there. Cool video thank you legend and 12 hours of Bathurst mad lad 😁 can’t wait
Honestly, I feel like out of all the NASCAR stock cars on iRacing, the Gen4/ARCA car has to be the better one cause, well basically cause it’s an old Gen 4 NASCAR, and almost like it’s real life counterpart, it’s got real good handling, really good aerodynamics, and for the most part easy to handle. Like ya look at the real life version, it didn’t matter what track it raced at, .5 mile, 1 mile, 1.5 mile, 2 mile, or 2.5 mile tracks for ovals and especially road courses, it showed great races and it seemed that drivers from different backgrounds could really handle well with it. Cause the real life car had really good handling, had great down force cause of how low the car was, I mean it’s the reason why on road courses in ARCA teams have always gone with the old Gen 4 cars, or what’s known as the “steel body” cars. Cause they handle better than the current cars.
