i was actually really excited to see World Painter on here! Its a super fun program

World Painter seems like exactly the sort of thing to make me feel excited to play Minecraft again. I was starting to feel bored (yes, even with the Nether update) but making my own maps so easily is an exciting idea

I've done TinkerCad before and it's really cool! I built a house with it in my coding class but didn't get to export it since we ran out of time. (it was only a trial and I just went back to JavaScript)

world painter is one of my favorite programs to use ^^ currently making an entire world using it its amazing once you get used to the controls

Joel, the many odd shapes they included are there for a reason. Tinkercad is a 3d printing platform and the more technical shapes such as the gears and connectors are for mobility purposes when creating something, so you may create moving designs.

Hey Joel! I’m not much of a pro when it comes to world painter and I’m sure you won’t see this but I do have a few tips that might help some people down in the comments :) 1. Always start with a large radius with your mountain brush and once you start holding down your mouse button start to scroll with your mouse and make the brush radius smaller and smaller. If you don’t want peeky ugly mountains don’t make the brush go alllll they way to the smallest radius. 2. When making beaches you can configure your brush and make it so that it only paints the block level that your beach is on. Go to the left control panel and find “only paint block under level:” and make it the level right above tour beach. Then right underneath that, locate “only paint block above level:” and put in the block level of where your ocean starts. Then paint away. This should give you nice clean beaches. 3. When it comes to tree brushes, you can group many tree types in one brush but be careful as tree brushes are very strong so you have to have a very low density. Grouping plants and trees together in one big brush is good if you’re trying to be quick about something :) 4. You can turn off structure spawning in the configuration. This makes it so the damn sea temples won’t ruin anything. 5. Try and mix many nature block together to make a nice colour story. Example, for mountains I’d combine a mixture of dirt, gravel, stone, cobble and andisite. And that’s really all I have. I hope you understood me because trying to explain world edit is so extremely hard without showing someone what your doing. I recommend watching tutorials and making A LOT of practice small rubbish maps :) Once again I really hope this helped

With world painter, it’s honestly easier to use the general raising and lowering tool because the mountain tool is way too steep. You can also change the intensity of the brush, and use a softener tool.

I’ve tricked my mind to the point that this video is “helping” me study for my geography test tomorrow. yes i know i am gonna fail the test.

Joel, do not feel at all bad about not doing very well with tinkercad. I use it myself, and it has taken me over two years get to a point where my models are satisfactory in my estimation. I have learned numerous techniques since I started, and all of them have made my models better and better. Considering that this was your first time using tinkercad, and the fact that our modeling styles there would likely be completely different, mainly due to subject matter. I am very impressed with what you were able to do. I never thought of using the freehand line tool to create tree branches and I might have to experiment with that later today to design more organic pieces in my starship designs.

I use tinkercad for my graphic tech class! It’s pretty cool and I got excited when Joel used it. You can 3D print it and you can also display it as an stl.file on another website called Poly.

I used to use tinkercad in when I was doing technology last year. I hated using it though! But watching someone use it to make mine craft builds is really cool!

i used to use this program in school, you have to select everything and join it which is why some may have not worked out but also if u get a shape and placed it inside your build then change it to hole that’s how you can make windows 👍🏻

For world plaint use the smooth tool to smooth out the mountains and make everything have a smoother transition

Jeracraft has some tutorials and resources for world painter. He does really cool stuff that have an epic scale to them. Worldpainter is also able to import grayscale height maps so if you're at all familiar with Cities Skylines you can use the same tools that community uses for custom maps like Wilbur and Terrain.party to make realistic maps

I used world painter, but I was on Bedrock and couldn't export it. Thank you for reminding me of it. P.S it took me around a day or two of watching tutorial, and making a custom terrain, but couldn't use it. I will use it now that I'm on Java again!

With the World Painter mountains, it apparently works better if you start the brush small and slowly increase the size as you paint it on.

me and my class have been using tinkercad for many projects. i’ve never seen anyone use it for minecraft building, people usually do it for 3D modeling

When using world painter - try increasing the size of your brush by scrolling out when placing mountains. It makes a more natural gradient of terrain. When you hold it down it just increases the size of the area in that specific pattern, so your mountains just get bigger and bigger, but the ground around them stays the same. By scrolling it adds that more natural look. It takes practice.

Joel if you choose hole then group it with the object it will put a hole in the thing you grouped it with, also when you group it it will make it all 1 color but you can change that by clicking on it clicking color then click multi color

Jeracraft made a very good video on making things with worldpaint. I could even make cool things with it after watching that video.

You can change where the workplane (where you build from) is in tinkercad. It is on the top right, and i think you just drag it onto the surface you want to build off of.

I’ve used the website(Tinker C A D) in school. Great vid btw!

Oh my gosh! We used tinker cad at school in primary! It is definitely difficult to use 😂. It was also originally made for 3D printers.

I like how Joel can make such great stuff using this program for something that you aren’t supposed to use it for. But yet I had to use this program for school for 3D printing and you couldn’t eve recognize what my build is.

Oh gosh I remember using tinker cad the first time. We had to use it in my graphics communication class and we exported our things to a 3D printer.

At my school we use TinkerCAD all the time to 3D print. It’s really cool. I didn’t know there was a Minecraft mode.

In world painter you can make so structures don't generate when you're exporting you can choose a setting to do that.
