Watching the Aventurine fight is like watching those mobile game ads that try to be so infuriatingly bad that you want to play the game just to prove it's actually easy.
i've never been able to physically see the two brain cells rubbing together in someones head until this video. absolutely diabolical level math skills mrpokke
To be fair, he just didn't read and didn't pay attention to the numbers on the field. And STILL cleared just fine making mistakes and using characters that allegedly aren't good. Funny how that works
they realized MoC aventurine stalled so much it made Jingliu look bad so they made him a primary school math problem in AS and also gave her 55% dmg increase
I mean i been seeing a lot of JL showcases on AV boss tbh and myself got like 3cycles on it too Won't call it that mid, it's mid compared to my Firefly sure but that's a given
@@KFCG427 I know she's not mid, it's just that the enemies are either not weak to ice so others make her look bad or the ice weak ones are just cringe like MoC Aventurine, I still use her when Argenti shows up and she 2-3 cycle just fine
@@restart6358ya me learning the hard way that the toughness guarded ones have huge def buff, tried to use Boothill enhanced basic after a Bronya ult and skill buff and it basically bounced off (but a basic attack could take half the HP of the activated ones)
Am i the only one who thinks apoc version is more difficult?? I have always done the moc one in 3-2 cycles in one try but this one i had to try 3 times to get a high score
@@banned4287I actually kinda hate running boothill against him. Since I still haven't gotten bronya, I am forced to use hmc, and my sustain is either gallagher or aventurine, neither can help break down the dices at all. Making my hmc basically useless. Even running S2 DDD hmc I struggle to get 3.45k. On the other hand my kafka dot comp got a womping 3.6k against phantylia, pretty good.
This apocaliptic shadow was so annoying that i had to really depend on the buffs they give to specific playstyles lol. Clara and topaz vs aventure (lmfao) and dot's with THE BEST CHARACTER, GIGACHAD GALLAGOD.
Did you just say you had to play the game right? they design the fights and buffs with what they want to give the spoitlight to clear. This is how a rotation-based endgame works, they cycle through characters/archetypes
Well not really, the 1st half i got 1k av, its just the 2nd half i got 1.7 av, the dot and specially gallagher hard carried me, so in my case it could have been better if the dot buff was in the 1st half and the same with the fua buff@@ch1dd
@@NukeWarrior The first half doesn't make sense for dot though, the entire point is to use hunt to eliminate each dice quicker. It went badly because different from MoC aventurine, this one wants single target damage and the dices don't attack, so it's a mistake to bring clara/yunli. You can use somewhat useless buffs to clear too, as long as you understand the core mechanic to take advantage of like that. I used the wrong buff for yanqing with an average build and bad composition (a slow bronya without speed tuning and hunt march) and he was still less than 200 av short of the 3300, I used that same wrong buff with feixiao but she cleared since she has higher speed and frequency for march. It's all about playing right really, understanding the puzzle the devs made with the floor mechanics.
Dot + Gallagher on second half is great. Still struggling on 1st half. Tried regular acheron and jingliu. Easy clear but too slow as I only reach 3k points. Any suggestions (no feixiao) ?
AS adventurine is actually so much easier compared to the MOC version because he doesn't stall you out if you can't burst him before he summons his dice.
@@mrdeafter it's not hard at all I'm just 300 points less on the last difficulty and it's annoying ☠️☠️ phantylia isn't hard but I need to replace my bailu I have her on my break team I'm just gonna build my E6 Gallagher real quick
@@ch1ddThere is powercreep tho. The fact that you can clear the content with the older characters doesn’t mean that there isn’t. It means that the content is not hard enough to require a brand new boosted character just to clear it.
@@reycole8837 That is quite literally the opposite of powercreep. People complaining about powercreep are convinced they can't clear the content because they didn't pull the new unit, so obviously the game difficulty is proper. If you can see the game structure you know the balance team is insanely competent, probably the most competent out of any game I've ever played. They got rid of powercreep by designing the game around E0 5* units and putting the "unfair" advantages behind limited eidolons, since they have to be worth paying for. I hope anyone who thinks it exist never try to play other gachas or they'll have an aneurysm.
@@ch1dd You are just mixing everything. Bringing up some random people complaining in the internet, game difficulty, assuming people reading this haven’t played other gacha games etc. Too much irrelevant information. It is not that deep. If a new dps character does 5 times more damage than an old dps character - it is a powercreep. Especially if they have the same archetype/element/team slot or whatever else. And it doesn’t matter at all if you can or can’t clear content with an old character.
@@reycole8837 It seems you know little enough about this that what I say doesn't make sense to you, so let's deal with this. Powercreep is a grave balance issue where an older unit becomes obsolete. This is a huge problem because people invested time and resources, sometimes even money to make use of that unit, yet their efforts are wasted because of difficulty from the new content getting too high and a newer unit made to match that increase. You're wrong from the beginning because you assume some definition instead of knowing what you're saying, this simply doesn't exist in HSR. From the moment the units are strong enough to clear the content, pulls become entirely optional. Powercreep does not allow for choice, you either pull or you'll be at a massive disadvantage, which is why I mentioned the players convinced they have to do it. They're wasting their resources and quitting the game because they don't understand powercreep doesn't exist, so I have to make it clear whenever I see someone spouting that narrative. The community is at large casual, a lot of them come from genshin and have no perspective of what powercreep is from any other game, otherwise they would know it doesn't exist in HSR. Go play a gacha with pvp and you'll figure out exactly what powercreep looks like because the units will be facing each other. They have constant balance changes and when things get too bad they even have to offer refunds, otherwise the game is simply unsustainable. HSR has standardized multipliers across every unit which makes even 4 stars able to clear the content with the right strategy, and you think there's even a shadow of powercreep in the game. Educate yourself.
This Apoc was noticeably harder for me than the last one. The last one I was able to 12 star clear with little effort whatsoever. But this one forced me to beef up my units because Phantiliya was hitting way too hard. And then I barely didn't get 3 stars so I had to go and upgrade my first half side's damage output, which I haven't had to do in a long time.
It's funny that the high rolls in the Adventurine fight are bait, much easier & faster to attack the low rolls and in the case of the second phase wait til you get a semi high roll than kill the 2X dice to double up and beat his roll. A much more fun fight than the MoC version that's for sure.
@@ch1dd some dice, especially the high number ones literally have damage reduction but you won't know that unless you look at its description. Pokke fell for it when his Yanking did no damage on that one dice. Those dice are there to bait players who don't read.
@@izumolee6714 You just have to read the stage mechanics, if the enemy number is higher than yours they take reduced damage and have toughness locked, and the highest your number is, more damage you deal. You attack the highest dice that is lower than your wager to add the numbers and hit higher dice, until aventurine's bar unlocks. Legit first grade addition
@ch1dd I know that. I got over 7.3k points. All I'm saying is there will be players who simply don't read the mechanics and try to brute force it. There will be players out there with that mind set. Heck like I said Pokke fell for the trap when he attacked a literally indestructible dice.
@@izumolee6714 But that's the reason it's not a trap, it would be if the toughness wasn't locked and it just looked like players can pick what they want to attack. They even thought of that and hold the player's hand, how can we call it bait?
MrPokke you need to read the top right hand corner. When it tells you to "Attack the boss with all you have" it means just go kill her! You don't need to kill all the flowers.
IMO the Aventurine boss isn't hard but he really highlighted some of the issues that Yunli, Acheron and somewhat FF have. The aventurine boss is slow, the dices doesn't attack and some are invulnerable -> which means no counters, no Jiaoqiu stacks and most importantly kill one dice at a time. This waste a lot of AV in a gamemode that focus on saving the most AV possible.
oh right, apo shadow this time felt easy, ache and dot team and leave it at auto, got 7k, thanks for the free resources hoyo, need that feixiao any moment now
Okay, am I the only one who never* really struggled on Apocalyptic Shadow? I started on Sparkle's banner, though I had some crazy luck on some pulls. *With the exception of the first one, as I only had one team fully geared and finished my Firefly team only towards the end of the phase. After which I fully cleared it. But since then, I haven't even had to restart a stage. Is that the average experience with Apoc Shadow or what's going on.
@@uyeah1234 yes, because i myself are asians. And math in here are not a choice but an obligatory! U suck at math and ur life suck too. Because for us it was an insult for our ancestry if u suck at math
@@ch1dd for phantylia my team is firefly, harmony MC, ruan mei, bailu she's the only abundance healer I have but I just recently built up my E6 Gallagher
@@blueblazedemon Yeah gallagher should close the gap. I cleared it with the same team but using Sampo instead of Firefly, there's no way Firefly can't do it.
Your account is probably just better suited for the rotation and buffs, I don't think they made it easier through stats but haven't checked. They even removed the free ultimate refill.
@@JustinRGuitar Since two rotations back or something, when they added things like the boss taking damage when the adds are killed, things started getting easier to handle. But it's about making use of the buffs too, people are better prepared knowing how the mode works. I find it roughly the same as ever, probably because since the mode released I already had investment on enough units to tackle different strategies and buffs.
@@lewsee5562 It's centered around single target, who have faster actions and high toughness damage. Those things also coincide with break team's strength.
Yes… the game is meant to be a slow progression to the top as you gather more characters and farm relics…. For newer players I imagine these chosen bosses are the worst because they’re just hella annoying to deal with…. And due to the fact that newer players need more characters to clear all 3 game modes from an earlier game play point. it may not seem that way to players that started earlier because MoC was the only game mode only going up to 10 and it was much easier at the time since they were eased into it a lot more. I’m a F2P that has been playing since a week after launch and tbh playing for longer even if as a F2P makes you unrelatable to newer players because of the limited nature of the game where you can only get so much in a period of time… it’s just how time gated things are. (But imma be serious… Pokke was so bad at playing the game here that you could outperform him using 4* characters)
You can use gallagher, sampo, moze, march, whatever you want with proper investment and good matchup for the stage. Look for 4 star clear videos when you feel discouraged.
