@@desmodeus2866 was thinking the same. I would assume it uses image search for each of the search words as well as all combination and then sort of adds it together. Which is how they end up looking like a combination between the real thing and the sims version and then plumbobs where maybe green items in the pictures are. So if AI is anything like my I, it’s like that
@@desmodeus2866 it’s probably trained on google image searches and RU-vid thumbnails will make up a large portion of the images when you’re searching up sims 4 builds.
My reply delete. I guess self loathing replies aren't allowed. I'm trying this idea. Images I am using are on twitter for anyone else that wants to try it using the same images that generated for me. Or not. Your choice. My thoughts is it would be a two story build and gaps in walls are where doors would go.
A two person twist on this is someone brings up photos of a house and describes it to the other who builds how the other person describes it but the builder cant see the house photos. Might be fun to see how the houses turn out lol.
James "They are all a little wonky but it is amazing it can even do this!" Me when I come home drunk and cook a whole meal, wash my face and make it to bed safely.
20:59 there's a piece of wall art/sculpture from city living that I sometimes put over beds in fancy modern homes, I think that might be what the AI is basing that on.
The A.I. program takes every image from the internet I think. So searching Sims 4 would pull up a lot of plumbobs. I think that's where all the green is coming from.
That and a lot of images of modern sims houses that show up in google are early/base game in willow creek and have a lot of greenery, bc base game was so bland on release. Think of James' old grass roof modern builds.
All the generated tiny modern home images look like something you would’ve 100% posted a build video of!! 😁 this was a fun idea and a neat way to get visual inspiration for pretty much anything - I’ve wanted to try and get an AI to generate something for me to paint :D
It's interesting to see how you interpret the images, too, because for example I would've used a different coffee table and colors outside based on the images. The AI tool is definitely fun, I made uncanny flying and chocolate harp seals on it yesterday.
What would have been so bonkers is if one of the images had been a previous tiny modern home James had built. I would not have been surprised considering his build style.
You can make roof come on platform by using old trick, place flat square next to second floor, adjust height of it,place roof on square floor, delete square floor, drag roof to desired position.
All things considered, I think your interpretations of the AI images came out fantastically! Even the adjustments you made to make the home more livable added to the look/feel of the home. Thank you for putting it on the gallery; even though you don't recommend it, I really like the funky feel of the place!
Love this idea! 1: I wonder if all the green is a reference to the plumbob?? Since you've put Sims 4 in the search? As well as plants 😜 2: That bathroom image has made me want to build a bathroom on a platform like that, with a half wall and regular wall that the bath sits in front of, with the shower cubicle or toilet tucked away behind it. It sort of looks like a half wall to me! It's fun to see how we all interpret different bits of it 🤩 props to the person who made the AI program!
I can't help but think that the "shelf" behind the bathtub could be a half wall to hide the toilet (with a plant perched on the basin). All in all, another interesting build from James. Loved it.
I love how you're always the first to combine things my nerdy friends and I are into with The Sims in interesting and fun ways... like this and GeoGuessr and stuff. I'd never think to use DALLE in this way, but it's a really good idea! Might have to try this for Minecraft too
A entire ai sims playthrough would be fun. For buildings and people design, you interpret ai images and for personality chosing you have a ai text software describe a random personality and for some choices you could have a text program chose and so on.
I am convinced that this is how EA houses are made I have always said this. The way they look and how odd things are placed is very relevant of an AI build.
This is such a great idea! AI gets you to make design choices, that you'd never make otherwise and there's room for interpretation since the pictures are pretty vague so the end result is definitely something interesting! I especially liked the bathroom :) Would absolutely love to see more AI houses in the future!
AI has come such a long way in just a year. I would love to see you try this again. Maybe feed it a description from one of your own build challenges, see what it comes up with and try to make it!
This is so cool! I often get the urge to build something while suffering from severe lack of inspiration at the same time. Next time I'll just ask the AI for some inspo.
I just had an epiphany! Can you do that triangular shape in the front by making a room that has a diagonal an then delete de walls that you don't need?? If anyone tries this please let me know how it went!
Oh man I love this! It came together so well! Very good jigsaw puzzle skills! :D In the bathroom someone created a big custom shower behind the bathtub: I'd bet that shelf is actually a half wall in front of a small glass door and big windows. There's a small arch off to the side, where you put the shower in your build, leading into a small room with a toilet and sink, which is why we don't see them. I adore what you did create: good thinking with the curtains because otherwise it'd be pretty strange, yeah. Haha. XD And who ever used the platform was really clever. I think they designed it this way so fewer Sims could walk in on one another, via the extra rooms but also I think the game counts anything on a platform as a separate room. (Although it's only one bedroom so one Sim or a couple lol. Not as likely to walk in on one another here.) It also recreates some of the luxury designs from photos of expensive houses, I'm sure. Oh! As for the living room, I wonder if it had like three couches all facing one another? I think it looks just fine with the one couch facing the wall... in real life, depending on the shape of the room, you might not always be able to face the fireplace and get a TV on the same wall so the living room isn't that strange to me.
I did a similar thing with artbreeder's "architecture" generation (I think that's what it was called?), it's not optimized to Sims 4 like this is but if you wanted a similar challenge that could work too! Might create something more unusual for the Sims style if you're interested in that
To be honest I would of put an entrance in the back of the house to act as the main door for entry with a car port or garage near it. And to have the stairs as it is, but bring the wall out more so that one may use the space under the stairs for a laundry with the landing above acting like a small office or sitting area.
I think you should expand on this. Since you chose such a big lot, why not also try replicating an A.I generated backyard? Also that one area that you had to pop out on the second floor, why not also pop out the space under that and add a half bath/powder room to the first floor so no-one expressly has to go upstairs to use the toilet or wash their hands. Also I know it's a replication challenge but the bed was begging for a picture to be hung on the wall behind it.
I think it chose so much green bc the Sims logo is a lime green plumbob. ☺ More challenges in different decor styles could be fun! Vampire style house build, anyone? Or BATUU
This was very cool. I may have to try it..maybe lol!! My builds are no where near yours. Next time Batuu build I'd love to see an AI come up with that one lmao!!!
I honestly thought the bedroom wallpaper was just white but we were seeing the beautiful window light coming through and making patterns on the wall. Or a skylight maybe 🥰 I'm definitely going to have to try this build challenge!
I looked myself up, because there are tons of photos out there of me. The AI that came back, was just Distortions of my actual photos. The Website itself teaches 'NLP' - aka Mind Control. SpOOky. Thank James.
"Too much traffic, please try again." is what DALL-E says right now. I'm curious what this thing give you if you type in more random words. Like say a name.
That section that you mentioned was not possible to build (top left of the front) reminds me of that one window item that exists in the game. It feels too big and too small at the same time whenever I’ve tried to use it. Not sure if anyone knows which item I’m talking about XD
Trick for putting roofs on platforms, make room the same level as your house at least 1 tile away from the house, raise the foundation the same amount of the platform, then build and drag the roof from the foundationed house over that empty tile to the platform roof. It won't be technically connected but it'll look like it.
So I see the bed is light blue, and the house's fame is dark blue. It could be my monitor, but I liked the subtle blue of the bed. And my thought was maybe James when white and black cuz of swatch limitations on both. I know some people have a hard time seeing those lighter colors, so sometimes mistake it for white. The same goes for some darker blues and backs, as I know someone IRL who mistakes dark blues and blacks.
Ever thought about making an AI Legacy challenge? I wonder how it could work..... but I bet you could code a bot to pick random aspiration, career, number of kids, etc!
