I used OBSTRUCT Obstagoon in Pokémon GO Battle League! 

I used Obstruct against a Giratina 7 times. The game ended up in a draw because time was up :D

I’ve been running Trev in the Lead, Walrein in the Swap, and Goon in the back for a while now in Ultra and it’s been a very strong team for me…Tried OBSTRUCT for the first time last night and I thought it was really fun! With this recent move to DARK type I think it’s finally time for FAIRY WIND!!!

Obstruct move is kinda good but Night slash is better than obstruct . If obstruct got more damage outcome then it will be rocking !

My opponent in Go League pulled out Obstagoon with Obstruct. I used Tapu Fini and won every time, no shields needed.

Im personally more of a fan of the 1500 leagues because i feel like you have a bigger choice of mons, and some more achievable mons (except like xl azu or medi). So my Obstagoons arent getting much use compared to my scrafty once great league rolls back around. Pretty cool mon though not a lot of them play around with stat changes. I've actually had a lot of success with a Summer cup team of Diggersby with Mud Shot Fire Punch/Earthquake, Abomasnow with just Powder Snow Weather Ball, and a regular Raichu with Volt Switch Thunder Punch/Skull Bash Ive been having a LOT of success and flipped matchups due Skull Bash Raichu, if you can build to it post shields or throw it at a mon that resists Electric they wont shield and it often one shots, and the defense boost is fantastic too. My IV's are terrible for the whole team (3* on the first two and the Raichu is 15/15/3) but im getting 3 or 4 wins, I know its at rank 19 but i feel like the Skull Bash Raichu would work also with a better team of mons with better IV's. Would be interesting to see what it could do.

I have gengar and obstagoon. Can i use gengar without the shadow punch and what can I use instead of crecelia?

While alot of people aren't too crazy about the move, I think it has ALOT more utility than some think. On my sets today, I ran Shadow Alolan Marowak (Fire Spin, Bone Club, and Shadow Bone) , Obstagoon (Counter, Obstruct, and Gunk Shot) , and Venusaur (Vine Whip, Frenzy Plant, and Sludge Bomb). I think this move really confuses the shit out of people, If I have a bad lead with Marowak, ill switch into Obstagoon, hit them with two obstructs, and then get them with gunk shot. It gives them a sense of safety because of the low DPS, and they just presume you are also running night slash or cross chop.

I got up to 2100 ELO over the past few days. Using Pidgeot, celebi and quagmire, then when I started using the new obstruct on my first shiny obstagoon and got around 2200 then hut bad sets that set me back to 2010

Interesting. I didn't even have the balls to use Obstruct because it didn't really make sense to me. Seems it would only really be useful on high defense Pokemon like Umbreon, and even then it would have to be used in succession which could be easily countered by shields or swapping.

Going straight obstruct allows Goon to beat Registeel in Ultra League bc he can tank a FB and the counter damage ramps up so much.

I had a good comday, rank 6 shiny goon for Ultra, and rank 38 shiny for great league. The shiny luck for battle league was definitely in my favor!

I think you’re underestimating obstruct. F.e, on that muk matchup, if you go for 2 obstructs and then night slashes, Goon wins against any possible moveset, while if you use straight night slash, you’ll probably lose the matchup. The buff/debuff from obstruct makes obstagoon outbulk his opponents, while also doing increased damage

Everything the enemy uses Obstagoon they always beat 1.5 - 2 of my Pokemon.

Were you not able to find a better Iv Obstagoon from this event? I think Obstruct would be better if it affects two stats on one target as opposed to one stat for two targets.

The new update is pretty annoying. I really don't like pokemon being able to throw on 0 hp. Takes away a lot of win cons and ends up making draws more common which just isn't fun

Obstruct makes Goon a bigger threat. If I see a goon I now have to leave an out for a debuff clear endgame. Obstruct, makes GBL more of a chess match than a checkers game. Love it's utility.
