I Used Pokémon GO's NEW Party Play Feature! 

My only problem with the feature is that parties don’t last too long.i originally thought it was going to be more like a clan. Once you made one you were in it until you left.

If you don't like the Party Challenge options, you can disband the Party and re-form it. It would also reset your one hour timer.

Every day after work, my fiance and I take the kid for a 1km walk around the school, and let him play on the playground til he gets tired. So every Saturday, I can pop a Lucky Egg and get my 7 day streak for Catch, Pokestop, and Routes at the same time. I was stoked to here about the Party Play! Until... "Routes are disabled when in a Party" Imagine taking a baseball bat to the knees of one of your most controversial features, by releasing a new feature that conflicts with it. Now I'll just rush the Party Play Field Research on my own for the sake of getting them completed, and I will never touch Party Play again most likely.

The feature looks cool, they’re definitely being stingy/cheap with those rewards though. There should definitely be rewards for much greater quantities of great balls, ultra balls, stardust etc. Heck they’ll never do it because they’re taking monetization a little crazy, but there should be egg incubators as rewards.

One of the biggest reasons why the daily incense is a great update is because of the galar birds. The only thing routes has going for it are zygarde cells. And now this also has low rewards and not a crazy amount of hype around it. Imagine for routes they made it so you could have an extremely low chance to catch entei, suicune, and raikou (maybe different forms like the galar birds.) and for party play you and your friends could have an extremely low chance to find azelf, mesprit, and uxie. (also maybe in a different form than usual) That would make this so much more hype and always on your toes looking for one with your friends.

This is a really nice introduction for this feature. Definitley needs some reworking and updating in places, but it's a pretty good debut.

The seeing other trainers is dope and the party being only an hour long seems like a parental thing, like they can see where you go, and the hour is so that you come back and check in if you go out to a large public park for a PoGo walk.

They should make completing a party challenge a daily friend interaction

This feature seems really cool! Definitely good to encourage people to get together and play pogo which I really like. Hopefully I can test it out with my friends soon!

my biggest problem with the new party feature is that you cant do routes while in a party, i tried to do a route with my mom while completing challenges and the game has a block on it when in a party. i feel like party routes would make a HUGE difference in routes, how cool would it be to find zygarde cells with a couple friends while doing challenges like walking 2 kilometers or catching 5 different species whil in a party. niantic missed a perfect oppurtunity.

The only reason I can think of to start a party is if you are raiding in person with someone for the extra damage.

Timer and more interesting revards would be the thing i would add... On the good side - charged attack from party when battling raids are a really great feature - raids where so easy on raid h and would greatly improve if the comunity is like 2, 3 people playing

The Issue with these two new features as of late is they don't really reward you for doing them! I can spin a poke stop and get better rewards than doing them! They just need to make these rewards worth it.

I haven't seen any pogo creators mention this yet, but if you have a child with a child account and you want them to be able to use this feature, you have to manually enable it from your parent account. The child won't see the tab until you do.

This is where I'd play with my friends... IF I HAD ANY!

I know this feature is meant to play with friends, but I always play solo. The routes at least give you the Zygarde cells.

You can click on the daily incese when you on the map so you don’t have to go to your items

The best part of this feature is the boosted power party members generate during raids. Totally worth it during in-person raid hour grinds!!

It would be a nice feature if you could choose how long the party lasts for example 1h, 6h, 24h and depending on what you choose you get different prizes. Like with the 24h one you could get exclusive pokemon for completing harder tasks

The fact it says in the party screen "all trainers must be near the host" and you still tried it shows how much you pay attention

The double charge attack damage in raids is massive for people who don't have large raiding groups. Melting a Guzzlord in under 20 seconds is hilarious.

While watching this video I already wanna say that i actually like this feature. My gf and I just did a raid hour with this new party feature, got some nice extra items throught the objectives and double charged attack helps a lot, with 2 people (lvl 40-ish) guzzlord raid was finished within a minute… its not amazing but it is fun

I will say the party system is a plus for solo or duo people. We were able to take down a Guzzlord with just the two of us (Lvl41 and 39) and only mediocre Fairy type pokemon. Only had 18 seconds left... but the bonuses made it possible.

Buddy functionality idea / introduction of “bottle caps”: What if for a certain amount of Km walked with a buddy, the buddied Pokémon were to find a bottle cap where, when applied, would increase or decrease the buddy’s IVs by 1. For this idea, let’s say the Km needed to “find a bottle cap” were based on the rarity of the Pokémon and would multiply by 1.2x each IV gained. For example, based on the eggs the Pokémon hatch from, or the level raid needed for the reward encounter, would determine if you needed 20 (tier1), 30 (tier3), 40 (tier4) or 50Km (tier5) walked for a single IV change. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Charmander, they would need to walk 148.832km (round to 149) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Gible, they would need to walk 297.664km (round to 298) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Mewtwo, they would need to walk 446.496km (round to 447) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. The same math would be applied to reduce IVs for PVP Pokemon. In addition to finding bottle caps with your buddy walking, perhaps they could be found in other activities by your buddy. Such as spinning stops/ raids/ gym battling / etc. This would also be EXTREMELY rare. To avoid problems with caught 100%s, the stat changes could be visibly different than normal stats with the following: * a notation on the Pokémon screen * different colored IVs showing a bottle cap was applied * the CP of these bottle capped Pokémon would be -1 of actual 100%s or PVP IVed caught Pokémon * the 100% bottle capped would not be searchable with 4* but would have a search just for “bottle capped.” Pros: - This would make spoofing or radar services less profitable and encourages more gameplay with the same Pokémon. - Entices player to “bond” with a single Pokémon for longer and therefore play the game more often to get the coveted 100% dex. - Allows all types of players to get 100%s while also not flooding the player base with actual 100%s. Cons: - All players would have access to the best Pokémon if they walk enough - The need to catch all Pokémon would be reduced slightly If you can think of any other pros/cons, reply to this comment so we can share our thoughts about the idea and maybe someone at Niantic will pick it up! I prob won't use parties until the next Go fest or similar event. Just too little reward for the effort put in. It's nice to get some rewards while you're doing something else, which is why I'll use it for those events.

I like the poke party raid attack bonus on top of the Mega Boost

I hope they fill out routes and party play with more engaging modifiers. My friends and I are playing more together because of the research, but the underwhelming nature means we'll slide right back out of in person hangs.

The go plus thing I get because it’s about playing with friends so they want you guys to be together out in the wild playing on your phones

The feature is in its infancy, so we should expect improvements eventually.

Y'all these past 24 hours of pokemon go have been INSANE for me. One legendary bird from the daily (and I caught it), a hundo yamask, wild shiny salamence, shiny gastly, and shiny poochyena, all in the past 24 hours. It's just frigging wild

If you all leave the created party and creat a new one you get new tasks. This can be repeated until you find a desired task

The worst part of this feature is that you can’t really clear the Special Research past the first page. From the second page onward, you have to catch 15 water type, electric type and fire type. They released this research right as the Halloween event launch and all you can find are ghost and dark type Pokémon spawning. I even tried to use a Rainy Lure Module but in the 1/2 hour, I only got 3 water type spawns, all of the rest were ghost and dark type.

I hope we can see eachothers buddy’s later down the line

I did 7 with myself, on what I THOUGHT was no time limit...until I did the "walk 5km" and failed after the HOUR TIME LIMIT was up. It should really mention that and/or have a countdown timer.

They have awful rewards. They could add rare candies or something like actually useful...

It feels like party challenges are more inclined for 4 players versus scaling down for 3 or 2 players. Some of them seem almost impossible to complete more than 2-3 in an hour if you're not in a highly populated area with lots of stops. Also rewards kinda lack luster.

another perk of party play ... while in a party, if any one person gets invited to a remote raid, they join, their party icon changes to raid icon and everyone in party can join that remote raid by clicking on theat person's party icon even if not invited/friends with the original remote raid inviter ... remote raid joining without having to get the remote raid invite

If Pokémon go making updates like this, the game will make great comeback

Minimum 3hr timer. One full comm day literally isn’t much at all. Fest and tours will be a PAIN to party play which is INSANE! would make for great feature still love this feature now all we need is updated buddy features

No, we do NOT “all have access to it.” Where I live, we don’t even get community days.

The rewards seem imbalanced. Why do I want to use 3 (or more - dependent on number of people in the party) balls to get 2 in return? Or use likely 4 (or more - again dependent on number in the party) berries to get back 3 razzberries? Only the mega-energy tasks seem somewhat worth it, but Niantic (almost) locked those behind a pay-wall because if the party only lasts ONE HOUR, then you can only use two FREE raid passes to get that task done if you didn't use yours from the day before - otherwise you may have to BUY another raid pass! Unless any one set of people in the party completing a raid counts toward the end goal. Just seems underwhelming currently.

But the party bonus charged attack in raids its very worth it imo

couple things, firstly your gf is pretty and super chill, second i think they should do the walk km one where it counts the fractions of the km walked too, cause if doing with you and 1 other then 3 km means you need to walk about 2km each, which makes it longer, so if we both walked 1.5km i think it should complete it, because that'd make more sense, i think getting the great or excellent throws when you need nice throws for the challenge should give multiple progress to the nice throw challenge and same with when you need great throws, excellent should get an extra to challenge completion for party system. just my thoughts but yeah the rewards are kinda crap tbh, it's kind of sad, it'd be nice if they had like a super challenge that gave a rare random encounter or something worth grinding for them, but it needs improvement tbh, the energy is kinda nice though, kinda.

If they really want to boost his game up and get a bunch of players plane and a bunch of new players what they need to do is have this party featured in a little way larger scale to where you don't have to have them in your party but you can join in the party to do that but have it to where you can see other trainers walking down the road or driving by and you can challenge him to raid Battle error 2 PVP and stuff like that that would be way better

Once again a new feature arrives extremely underwheling. There is no point to party up and it seems like a DOA feature.

My prob with the partys is that you can't play routs when you're in a party. That makes no sense...

Might reset my TAGS!? I'm not touching this feature till they get it fixed! My friend lost her battle parties and favorite search strings, but didn't know why. And the rewards? Totally useless. Even routes are better. Just another feature that COULD be useful and fun . . . if Niantic ever fixes it. Oh well. Thanks for the warning! :)

A feature that I won’t be using. I can only play while sitting still. I use a manual wheelchair to get around and I’m not walking up so to speak to random strangers and asking to party. Not happening.

There are many bugs in the feature. I had my battle teams reset, my pokemon go plus+ options completely deactivated and my favorit pokemon search phrases reset. Also you can not use the party and route feature at the same time. This is stupid. When else than when you are in a group would you follow a route? I also find it very bad, that the group only lasts 1 hour.

Just an easy thing to ignore ... Does not hurt but also does not do anything

I like this feature, but when I was doing a raid my friend in the party finished the raid and it kicked me out because I had to click the button to complete the task. I NEVER GOT THE GUZZLORD.

Leave the party, then get in a new party then you get new tasks
