im learning this song for a cover band we're a bunch of old dudes been playing all our lives. for this song you're the only lesson that's even close. thank you.
Love this lesson ! Many great points! You are right on about the Eb to D in the 'without love' section . Sort a suspension in the Eb note in the bottom, resolving and pulling to D/D7. I have been playing it the way you showed us here for years
Cool lesson. Like your lessons about soloing over chord progressions, too. How about Can't Stop by the Chili Peppers. It's damn hard to hit the one note while hitting all other strings muted.
Your guitar knowledge, ear and taste/technique remind me of an entertainer known for his general comedy, acting, singing and finally guitar playing: Glen Campbell. Kudos!
Great lesson. But you didn't cover the chorus at all. The part with, "The Illinois Central to the Southern Central Freight, Will keep on pushing mama cause you know they're running late" This is Gbm7 to Gm7. But there is an acoustic part at the very end of that which brings the band back into prechorus Cm7 that I am having trouble figuring out. Can you help?
A a kid (19) I crashed the DB's after party(sort of) at a hotel room in Abilene.. I just kind of waltzed on in.. I asked Skunk, "hey. whats the other guitar parts on LTR?" he gave me a good hour lesson.
