I've Been Reel Mowing Turf Type Tall Fescue For A Full Year - How Did It Turn Out?

I enjoy reel mowing my lawn and wanted to find an alternative to my struggling Kentucky Bluegrass lawn in the transition zone. I decided to try a new variety of turf type tall fescue, Bonfire Tall Fescue by Jacklin. These are my thoughts and observations after having managed Bonfire after one full year of spoon feeding and reel mowing it in my own lawn. Thanks for watching!

I've been reel mowing my fescue @ 3" with my scotts 7 blade and 3.5 with my fiskers for the summer, the Scott's really does a nice job.

Maxorr g with the eddha iron is awesome too and works on higher ph places.

Not really, it’s hard to tell a difference between the two plots.

Definitely interested in the sprayer. I have 13K sq ft and have to spray with .5 gallon carrier and have to fill up twice. Pete’s sprayer looks great just a little to expensive for me.

Great information and advice. I also live in the transition zone and find TTTF the best route for a home lawn. I over seeded with Barenbrug and MVS Lateral spread this fall and love the density and color so far. I have a Honda HRN with a Big League Lawn Striper. I mow around 2 inches and I love the stripes and cut. Quick Question: Does the California Trimmer stripe and cut well above a rotary? I'm thinking about my 24 lawn season and want to step up my game.
