I take the Rimac Nevera to an airstrip drag race while on vacation in Croatia with @autosportadria1550 Take a tour of the new Rimac Factory: • FIRST LOOK! * Tour of ... #rimacnevera #automobile #dragrace
@@alim7502 it was ahead by a car length or two. In a sub 100,000 vehicle. If the Ferrari even came out ahead by a bumper you'd probably say it dragged the plaid, so I'd say the plaid pretty much dragged the sf90
@polocapolot5772 That's an emphatic no. There is nothing currently in production now (even tuned) that can match the Nevera's take off at any speed. And then it'll likely have to be electric.
@@thedumbconspirator4956 no one care, apart from that only in quarter mile and jus for 1/2 tents...in the meantime sf90 can pass 350kph, and turn just "a bit" better...plus tesla performance change with SOC, with lower fuel sf90 can only go better XD
@@Ale55andr082 plaid will beat it in a rolling race at just about any speed. It's also capable of 350 kph. Mountain pass did just that. Though Tesla's 320 kph limited speed is more than enough. It seats 5 comfortably and will carry their luggage with ease. Also no, the SOC won't really change that much, it'll still thrash the sf90 at 30% SOC. And it's like 1/4 the price too.
Years ago, supercars had to be pretty much the fastest street-legal cars. Sure, they were exclusive and stylish, but they also needed silly amounts of horsepower and crazy performance metrics. The Nevera continues that tradition, it's arguably the King of Hypercars. Yes, it's an EV, but so what? It's always been about the performance.
Man you are living the best life ever! Congratulations sir. You drive and give us the best content on all the best high performance sports cars in the world.
Who cares about the airstrip when you have 650 km of the best driving road in the world, the adriatic highways, endless corners right next to the sea with amazing views of the sea and islands on one side and mountains on the other, and buttery smooth asphalt.
Trip of a lifetime or at least the summer. Glad you all had fun and had such a great time with such an epic car. Unbelievable performance at that SOC. Great navigation of charge shortcomings. 11:39
Dragtimes Awesome Video I think it's awesome that you got to Drive that Absolutely Gorgeous Rimac Nevera and I can't wait to see more of Content from Auto_Sport_Adria
Happy to see you enjoying yourself at this side of the pond! Love the content and looking forward to the rest of it. Basically nothing really beats the Rimac on the 1/4 mile. The McMurtry Speirling might accelerate a bit faster but it doesn't have the top speed. And it's not road legal. Mate knows what we know and is a big fan of you and your content.
omg welcome to my Croatia,,in rimac niceee ,,and 4 days ,have fun at sea part of croatia ,,,we need more videos ,,are you maybe coming to Capital Zagreb ,,i live close to rimac old factory
@@DragTimes yes i saw that video and comented ,,but i was thinking you are there just for that day for rimac factory tour ,,but you are still here in croatia
Great, really great. The fuel station just 5 min before Grobnik has a fast charger. Also, at Pula just before entering the ramp to that hotel, it's the fast charger. To recharge Nevera needs about an hour and 20 minutes. Hope you had good time at Croatia. :)
The car is so fast it can be boring. With it dominating so much there is no competition, your all alone. I guess it's true what they say it gets lonely at the top.
They were next to Rimac Nevera, Evija don't want nothing to do with Rimac, I saw that 2 years ago at Goodwood... Now they took everything from the car, and made it a track car, will see
with that price tag, Rimac should provide (at least as an option) batteries with more exotic chemistries like Amprius silicon cells, or even lithium air. That way, the car could be 500Lbs lighter and/or have twice the range
Brooks, what is that simulation (applet) that you suggested for comparing drag times - the one where you could choose up to 4 cars to race each other ?? I lost the link …
Why not charge at a TESLA charger, it have 250-300KW charging and are alle over in every European country. Great video and cool to see the fossil cars getting put behind the Rimac :)
What do you expect when a hypercar with almost 2000bhp vs another hypercar with 1000bhp less?? Even if a supercar with a hundred horsepower more should always win against that with 100bhp less, let alone 1k bhp advantage.
After this u know some aftermarket tuner is gonna respond to this by coming out with a big bored and stroked sf90 engine upgrade package with around 5 liters and much bigger turbos, upgraded pistons con rods and cooling and full bolt ons with 1900hp
Put some curves on the drag strip, and it will be a different story. The Porsche 991.2 GT3 does the Ring in 6:58, with only 493 hp. The Nevera does it in 7:05. Not too shabby, better than most. And only a few seconds slower than an old, simple, 2-valve, low-tech Viper ACR with 650 hp and a stick, which did the Ring in 7:01, with a couple secs left in it still to be had. In case ev fan bois aren't aware, a tenth of a second per lap separates 1st place from the rest of the top ten in Formula 1, and a second per lap is an eternity, a back marker, a few laps behind by the end of the race. EVs at the Ring aren't even what could be considered competitive in a race with ICE touring cars, let alone race cars. Not even in the same ball park, and they would get lapped repeatedly. The fastest and quickest EVs are considerably slower than the Porsche, despite the Porsche only having LESS THAN HALF the power of cars such as the Nevera and the Plaid. Let that "sink in"! Having said that, I actually like the Nevera but can't afford one, (this is my true problem with it) Matt Rimac is a true car guy and amazing person and engineer. Fun video, too!
ring times are totally irrelevant for 99% of super car owners, no one is doing those times from Porsche other than Porsche... some people want to go fast, and that's what this car does, nothing comes close... the GT3 is annoying slow with that 500HP.... at least get a Turbo S that feels fast...
It´s the torque that pulls. The Rimac has 2360 Nm of torque. Everytime, at idle and at fast idle ,the maximum torque. Thats the reason why electric cars has an insane acceleration. A combustion engine never has his max. torque at idle. Imagine what an combjustionengine you need to get 2360Nm at idle.
But then you’d not need gearing at all but then the engine would have to spin beyond 20k rpm which no stock engine does…not even close enough….so maybe gearing would be required….need to calculate that….case in which good luck finding a clutch that can handle 2k Nm at idle lmao
