I’m one of those people who sent you a cold email, lol. To be fair, I wasn’t pitching anything-just offered a suggestion and was thrilled to get a response. That was awesome!
Deya, out of all the youtubers that over promises to help them get better at remote work and freelancing, YOU MAKE THE BEST ADVICE, CALL TO ACTION, and create a realistic approach! Thank you Deya! I am so glad that the algorithm led me to you because your process is EXACTLY what I needed. I finally got my first remote job after implementing your advice on how to begin with freelancing. The mindset, the planning, and expectations that I needed to take note really really helped. I hope one day you'll blow up!
“Business owners are excited to get a good cold pitch it’s that we don’t get many”. Interesting quote, so I thought there was more competition than I except but turns out people are just lazy sometimes. Awesome video
Girl! This came at the perfect time ✨ I just put in my 2 weeks at my full time design job to start my freelance design business and I’m in the process of cold-emailing and dm-ing people. Your videos are seriously so helpful to someone who’s getting started with running a freelance business 💕
This video is exactly what I needed! I'm currently starting a freelance ops consulting business and cold-pitching is the part I was putting off the most because I hate getting cold pitches myself. But I realized it's because I only ever get terrible pitches 🤣 I'd love to get pitches like the ones you showed in the end 🙀 and I can totally write pitches like that and not feel like I'm bothering the other person. So thanks for changing my mind on cold pitches 💕
Hey Deya, this video is GOLD to me! I’m very skilled in motion graphics and visual effects, but I just had a hard time figuring out how to pitch myself to possible costumers. You giving that many examples and helping people like me honestly makes a difference. 🙏🏼❤️
This video came at a perfect time for me. Ive sent several cold pitch emails and haven't heard back. But, even I feel a little funny about my messaging + offerings. I've been trying to think on it but you've provided so much insight that it's helped me get a better idea of changes I need to make. Thank you, Deya! Your content is SO valuable.
What I love about your videos is it feels like I always need to do an assignment after every watch! Something to implement in my system as a freelancer! thanks for another gold series, Deya 😻😻
This video made me open up a new notebook and write down a lot of what Deya said. Much appreciated that you share your knowledge, your experience on this, Deya!
Deya, this video is amazing, and packed with pure value. You took the time to go through your emails and provide us with all this information. I need to watch it again and take notes. This video is worth of being watched several times. I am a "mid-size" freelance, not new but I want to scale my business. So, this kind of video helps me a lot. Thank you!
thank you so much for this! I've definitely been guilty of the "15-minute call" ask because from my perspective, it's not that much energy, but after hearing your thoughts, I see how that's not necessarily true. new task: find an easier/more personalized call to action :)
honestly I'm happy to hop on a 15-min call once someone has established 1) they get my problem, 2) they have a good solution to my problem, 3) they have proof they can do the solution properly and 4) they're nice. It's just that most people say 'let's hop on a call to figure out how I can help you'
First video of yours that I've watched. You knocked it out of the park. Took notes all the way through. That first pitch at the end by Stav was 🤌 Great subject line (feel-good story + gift). Doesn't even come across as a pitch. Well done 👏
Yeah, that was something. I spent 24 minutes of my life time staring at my phone &your video and actually I learned something. And you earned subscriber! Hmm, new level of marketing... I need to get out from my cave. Regards from PL.
Thank you for this video. I'm not pitching you. I'm just a fan and a follower. I mostly listen to your videos when I'm power walking in my subdivision in florida. By the way, I just finished setting myself up on contra. Thank you for that. I'm an instructional designer, video editor and animator. And now i'm just continuously linking examples of my work to my contra profile. Your videos on the top freelancing websites really helped with that. I know you're really busy, but please keep making these videos. Sometimes I just run the playlists from your TikTok channel when I'm exercising, just to get all the good Freelancing advice as I multitask.
Welcome back Deya! I recently subscribed and have really been loving your content. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. As someone trying to learn so that I can build my own business, I really appreciate all your valuable content you put out. 😊
I clicked the video expecting to see my cold pitch with the title (Better Than WoW - Free RU-vid Advice ) My cocky *** learned that my great pitch was not that great actually. I took many notes from this video and'll send lots of emails this week. I'll share the pitches with you if/when I get a positive return. Thanks!
Love the part where the cats were fighting 😆 Makes the video seem like you are literally just talking to us in live. P.S. Love the content! Hope no cat got injured during the video production.
Great Video Deya. Apologies, I got a little distracted by the cats in the background. We have just got two kittens! Tiny little naughty monsters!!. Maybe I will send you a cold pitch, see how I fare. 🤔 I have been on the planet a long time so I just keep it real and incorporate humour when I reach out. Works for me. Collabs and working with people should be fun and enjoyable. It's not always about getting paid. 👍
hype video and pacing and as usual... super helpful! also, quick audio recording tip, i can tell you have some sort of de-noiser and/or gate and de-esser/compressor on your vocals so when you start a word like @ 1:41 with the word "stop" or 1:47 with "skill," the compressors are working overtime and so it cuts out the "st" and "sk" sounds. it basically sounds like youre super nasally and speaking without any teeth at times and its absolutely throwing me off
@11:25 ☠💀 oh man.... I take it back maybe my proposals aren't as bad as i thought, thanks for this video it was equal parts entertaining and informative!
Plot twist.... this video is actually an invitation and tutorial on how to write an email pitch to Deya. What is the need? Someone to filter the crazy amount of cold pitches into her Notion. 😂
I am new to your channel. I felt very difficult & complex to understand your explanation, even though video editing is good. I wish you shared a basic introduction for a minute in beginning to understand what is it regarding for new people.
this is so much value, thank you so much for posting this. i kinda know why my cold email outreaches haven't been working now. However, if I don't have a portfolio what can I do? I'm doing SEO and I haven't landed my first client so I'm finding it a bit difficult
From this video, I know that there are a lot people who are not serious but also do cold pitch. So I'm not afraid of doing cold pitch anymore. Coz I can make better than those cold pitches.
This is a really great video and I loved how you break down everything that's wrong with the emails you got and how to actually tailor a good email. I'll take the things I learned from this and send you an email about a sponsored video on your channel, so let's see if I can get a reply.
🙈 @11:43 Unfortunately 90% of my earliest pitches were self centric, and i couldn't figure out why no one would get back to me (ignorance is not bliss)
That's so embarrassing you used my dm as an example but I already made the corrections this video is so helpful I'll get back to you with my new pitch 😁
I wouldn't have read through those super long cold emails that you showed at the end if they were in my inbox. Did the emails with links make it to your inbox or did they go to your spam folder? I usually keep my outgoing cold emails to under 100 words and text only.
They're not being nuanced and they don't even know if you want to coach or have that skillset. They also grabbed screenshots and gave unsolicited advice which is a big no-no
@@MyNameIsDeya I got it here from your Insta 😁♥️ (I'm a subscriber since you had 6k subscribers...and now seeing your growth..omg I'm so happy for you♥️♥️ Congrats!)
Deya, I just listened to this YT video. I was very impressed with your effort and time to make a quality YT video. Now, of course, let me tell you what I can do for you... LOL
omg.. lol! I actually clicked on this latest video to 'cold' comment on it. and ended up spending 17 mins watching this whole video (I watched at 1.5x) ehm.. now it's time to 'learn, adapt, & overcome' ^_^ heyy Deya! thanks a lot for the amazing info. It truly changed the way I pitch my video editing services. And you won't believe I landed a client through it on the very first try! [it's you.. please don't disappoint yourself (me)] I know you have an amazing editor already and you are even creating such wonderful shorts as well. I still wanna offer you my assistance as a infographic and motion graphic designer. Either I can help in creating some animated icons, charts, or an other infographic that can be used in your videos. Or I can repurpose your longer videos and edit various shorts out of them by adding some cute and Kwai animations. You don't have to do anything. I'll go through your longer videos thoroughly and trim out the potential parts that can be valuable to a new potential audience that consume short-form content only. You can add the original one as 'related video' so that they know where the real content is. P.s. I take special care of the over all brand style of the creator. Please check out how I created such effortless shorts for Payton Clark: ru-vid.comiiHbSc4iUOQ hope to hear from you soon. :)
Hey Deya , really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with more Quality Editing in your videos and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail and also help you with the overall youtube strategy and growth ! Pls let me know what do you think ?
