In this exclusive interview, Wheeler Dealers star Mike Brewer speaks out about the pain he's had to deal with with online bullies. He talks about how he has received death threats on social media while others have threatened to harm his wife and daughter.

I'm not a fan of Mike Brewer but the level of abuse he receives is appalling, not just for him but for his wife and family. It must be incredibly hard to live with it and he must be a very strong character. Good on him for standing up and being open about the effect it has on him, as the host of the interview said these people forget there's a person at the end of the abuse. I hope his success continues and he gets some respite from these dreadful online bullies.

@@flagpoleeip To be fair Edd doesn't do 90% of the work either so people can hop off his dick and stop pretending like he's single handily restoring the cars. Calling what they do a "restoration" is a joke anyway, the cars are just fixed up to look half decent and sold on.

Social media is a curse that brings out the worst in people. Well done Mike for calling it out. Ps Elvis is my faourite tech' to date - just enough detail and no more. Edd was great but at times it felt like it was a foundation course at the local college.

Mike is my favorite automotive personality! Wheeler Dealers doesn’t prioritize the drama between the cast and instead focuses on the CAR! The way it should be! Thanks, Mike, for inspiring this Yankee to dive in and tackle projects that would’ve otherwise intimidated me. WD is my all-time favorite show! Whenever I have a job to do on the car, which I may not be keen on tackling, I find watching an episode of WD really inspiring and always injects some enthusiasm! I always remember a quote from Edd in one episode, can't remember which one, when he had a difficult job to tackle on a car and he said, in the end, "it's just a car with an engine". 😀 Great series.👍👍👍 Unfortunately, social media has handed a virtual loaded gun to the jealous, spiteful, spineless individuals who resent any sort of success or popularity.

Mike is a top guy. What many people don't realise is that he supports many up and coming RU-vidrs. He also does a great deal for charity and will always give you a minute if he can. Screw the haters.

When Ed left took me a long time to watch, but Ant did not disappoint both really good mech Eng's, just started watching with Elvis he looks very good too. As Mike says they all bring something special to the party.

Really sorry hear the abuse you get Mike. It’s shocking to hear. I really don’t understand these people get from it. So sad. You seem such a humble guy that does a car program which I for one really enjoyed over the last 30 years. Stay strong & Keep doing the great things your doing. I was appaled to hear the abuse you have to suffer, please keep doing what you are doing, this is the best way to answer these low-life bullies who have nothing to say but always say it very loudly. it was heartbreaking to hear, you could see the distress this causes you and I am sure your family. I don’t know why Mike gets so much abuse and hate. He comes across as a genuine down to earth guy and does not seem to have let fame go to his head. From what I see I like the bloke.

Hi Mike. I have been a fan from the very beginning watched every episode and your previous show. It really really saddens me to how twisted some people are to you and your family. I honestly see from your humble voice and personality it is hurting you hard. Totaling understand you having a drink or two extra. As for the weight thing. It's sad people can be so cruel. Like the way you have not changed your dress code. Obviously a mod from decades ago. And nice to see your original personality show through from to your dry sence of humour. Have a great trip in Poland. Any chance you could do a star from the eighties Fiat 131 Mirafiori racing..if they haven't all rusted away..or is that for Car SOS they love a bit of rust...well Fuzz doesn't Keep it real and stay strong. Discovered Wheeler Dealers when I lived in Jersey 13 years ago - the Jensen Interceptor episode! - and have followed and enjoyed it ever since! Liked the mechanics better than Mike, but he is the glue that holds the show together and drives it forward and thus deserves everything good that has happened to him. Sadly, there are those that are envious of his hard won success, and are cowards, thus they manifest that envy through the anonymity of social media; I’m sorry he has to deal with that.

I met Mike when he first started out on TV. He was big into model helicopter flying so was up at Epsom Downs most Sundays in the late 90s. He helped set mine up for me. The spat with Edd was very regretful but he has done well for himself and it's well deserved. He was a seriously hard grafter back then also.

Thank you Mike for Wheeler Dealers. I watch the show regularly with all of the amazing mechanics, Edd, Ants & Elvis. The shows are always interesting and entertaining. I am really sorry to hear about the abuse that you receive, I think it is disgusting and totally unnecessary. As you say Mike you're just fixing up cars ! Some people need to take a good hard look at themselves and say themselves why are they like they are. Mike you're brilliant, Thank you for your charisma and your warm personality. Met Mike at Leamington Hobby Centre , I was struggling to fly a model helicopter nose in. Mike had a stable model which he said to me have a go with it. I said, "What if I crash it" his answer was don't worry about it. He is just a real nice guy.

I'm a huge fan of Mike and the show. Wasn't happy the way Ed left, in fact it took me a while to watch it with Ant however it has to be said Ant was far more comfortable in front of the camera than Ed was. Elvis is ok but Ant is missed. I don't know if Mike reads these comments but telling these 'people' that they get to him only fuels their fire. Watch how Ricky Gervais deals with the situation. Ignore them or ridicule them as you say, even if you're not feeling it. Mike is a very shrewd guy and deserves all the success.

It is disgraceful what Mike has to put up with on an almost daily basis. Most of it will be jealousy of his success and his job but how twisted and low can you get to behave like this to another human being. Unfortunately such people reflect the evil that is in the world. What I like about WD is that it is such a pleasure to watch any time and when searching through the channels it is great to come across it instead of the rubbish that is on so much. I can watch an episode even when I have seen it before. My favourite episode is the one where Mike found the rare Lamborghini in Poland and I really like the 'Dream Car' episodes. Mike, thank you for the entertainment you have given us over twenty years and may WD continue for another twenty. Keep well mate.

Mike is a very divisive character. I worked in the Motor Industry for many years. Working for one car manufacturer, at one of our monthly meetings, the MD announced Mike would be on site one day, there was a big groan throughout the room. I met him once, I thought he was perfectly okay. Receiving all the personal abuse is unacceptable. I believe a lot is connected with his split with Edd China.

Mike, I will never forget the day that I was fortunate enough to spend a very interesting few minutes chatting with you at the NEC classic car show in, if my memory serves correctly, November 2003. I was really nervous to meet one of my favourite people out of all the TV car show presenters (your good self) but it took very little time to realise that you are exactly the same affable and charming gentleman that you are on the telly. I've enjoyed every single episode of WD since the very beginning, you're a very lucky man to do work that you enjoy so much. I believe that your success is totally deserved. For every idiot that takes a pop at Mike, there are a thousand of us that love what he does! An honest bloke and while he says the cars are the stars it his genuine honesty and ordinary bloke attitude that makes us love what he does. Shame on the police group, these are people we put our trust in. Reminds me of a comment years ago by John Lydon "never trust a copper or a hippy" Good luck for the future Mike, I doubt you will need it mate!

Met Mike a few times at Cranleigh and London car shows and he's always good with his time for people signing autographs and chatting about cars. The jealous keyboard warriors threatening Mike and his family are thankfully in the minority but this happens all the time to celebrities. The story in the curry house was very shocking but not unusual these days from those hired to protect and serve.

Always liked Mike and have watched all his programs right from his early days on TV . An ordinary bloke who came across as the cheeky Chappy car salesman , stereotypical at the time but his personality made it work and it’s certainly worked for him. I hope he stays in TV and media for many years. I’ve liked these car dealer interviews with him , keep them coming.

What a great frank interview. Terrible to hear about abuse esp from police. I have enjoyed wd for years, so much so, I often make my wife watch itm. She's a teacher, and one day she was chatting about last night's TV.. Did you see Downton Abbey asked one, no she said I was busy watching intently on how to take the back axle off a.porsche,.and then thinking when am I ever going to need to know how to do that!

Social media can bring out the worst in some people whether it’s jealousy or attention seeking they are a step removed from their target, so don’t see them as a person and the effect that they can have, bringing his family into it is inexcusable.. I personally like Mike, just a normal guy always makes me smile when I’m selling something and someone turns up and tries the Mike Brewer style of haggling

Ive loved and watched the show the whole 20 years its been on. I like Mike enormously and I've liked all three genius guys in the workshop. I've watched it whilst having a few beers (and whilst hung over the next day!!) Its been a real go-to for 2 whole decades and i love it!!!

Awful to hear this, not sure when all the bullying started but, I did see a video from 6 years ago with Mike bad mouthing Ed in comparison to the new guy. Ed was and still is brilliant, the new guy is great too. You should have left it at that Mike but, hindsight is a wonderful thing.
