My Aunt just passed away, Monday morning. The last time I saw her, where she was still able to talk to us, she played this song for me. She died from brain cancer. Well now she's cancer free, and no longer in pain, thank you God!

My granddaddy was the greatest blessing in my life. He was on his death bed and I came to see him one day. He pointed toward the couch in the living room where he laid. He kept pointing to it. I am the original author of Homesick. I like the performance of Jessie Dixon at the Hawaiian Homecoming better. The song is not about a homesick college student, but rather a song about heaven. I was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkins lymphoma the evening of Thanksgiving when I was a freshman in college - November of 1986. I sat down and wrote Homesick the next morning.
God surely must have given you this song, it is so beautiful. We sing it pretty often at my church and I absolutely love it, it's my favorite. At the part about seeing my father standing at the door, I can see my daddy, and Jesus, standing together waiting for me.
