According to an article I just read about a few dying, there were 50 that died out of 100 that were discovered sick in Newport Beach because they were emaciated and/or tangled in fishing gear. According to Google, there are over 70,000 breeding pairs of pelicans on the West Coast. So, in the scheme of things, 50 dead birds is not a big number. Of course, the media is going to sensationalize it.
@@VeniceEveryday The volunteer center I go to around there has a ton that came in recently. Never seen than many to be honest. They look in really bad shape. There must be something in the water.
