Don't play the gacha-machine. Safe up your currency, press G on it and you can literally buy any item you're interested in that basically denies or kills the RNG. They added that not so long ago its really nice.
Or, you can exhaust all the pulls because you get more blueprint fragments so you can upgrade your blueprints instead of wasting 8000 on just getting a singular blueprint :)

Personally Im not a fan of that system , But i think with the way Cheating has become main stay in F2P games ....we need this globally have main servers both with option of PVE and PVP and have one with no ID needed and on with , as im tired of playing with lil timmys and streamers/ try hard losers that download walls and auto aim as much as I hate giving up some freedom id like to go back to the halo 2 days in which you found a hacker once in a blue moon rather than every other 3 lobbies
problem these days is how used to making content the devs are releasing content regularlly , i have path of exile allways release a load of content every 3-4 months and then games like warframe release a update with some weird side content when they feel like it

I have over 49 hours in the past 4 days, I have blinked and lost time and still feel like I haven't been able to do enough. I am a little obsessed and its been literal years since I've felt this way about a game. Cannot wait to see what the seasons in the future hold.

I wish state of decay 2 was like this, you have your base and then can be tons of other players on the server that also have their base and your base is transportable so you can be anywhere you want
@@deejd9837 fun fact before they were purchased by Microsoft the game that they wanted to make was supposed to have multiplayer and set in both pvp and pve servers after seeing mods like Day Z explode. But sadly with it being a new start up and the initial investments not feeling comfortable funding an ambitious game with untested developers we ended up getting SoD and multiplayer wouldnt be added until 2 where they had already been half way through developing the game as they were bought out. The 3rd one will be my hopes of that ambitious project as they have the money from Xbox and have 2 games under thier belt and the time to make it. Fingers crossed this is a homerun for them and Xbox.
State of decay 4 YEARS after release still isn’t as playable as the original game. Massive disappointment and the co-op is tethered not that I want to play it at all currently.
A note about the server resets/wipes, The devs have been reaching out to content creators & had meetings with some of them to discuss feedback on the game and most have suggested to make changes to the wipes and apparently the devs are looking into possible changes to make the wipes better in some way. Also currently when you buy cosmetics they are locked to your character so if you swap servers you would have to re buy your cosmetics. Well based on feedback the devs have already announced they are changing it so your cosmetics apply to your account on all servers/characters which proves they are willing to make changes based on feedback even if it is going to effect there income in a bad way.

NOTE: The Starceom Arcade also has another function where you can press "G" as shown in the video at 23:22. This allows you to directly buy the blueprints vs trying to get a lucky roll. This is more expensive to buy per blueprint but it takes the guess work out of what you want from the drops.

They need a hotkey to toggle the visibility of whispers. Annoying when people place their whispers PRECISELY on the spot you need to interact with to obtain items or loot, such as the motorcycle. Took me a hot minute to collect my motorcycle due to a troll whisper. I am aware you can block a whisper if you open it, but it would just be more convenient to have an option to toggle them instead of opening them, then blocking them individually in my opinion. Also wholeheartedly agree with the hatred of the 8 separate rewards menus. It's very overwhelming and absurd. But the game is fun. I loooove looter shooters
This game is literally the amalgamation of every game mechanic i like into one game, set in a beautiful world. I love it, if this keeps going same way this would be a game i will be playing for a really really long time, and create content for.
This game has a LOT to do. From being a farmer and selling loot to the vendors, to being a crafter and selling loot in vending machines to other players, creating a base that ACTUALLY looks like a house, with some of the best decorations ive seen in a survival game. Its got Fallout 76 style pvp that wont hold your hand the way F76 did. Its got a V Rising style loot table when youre exploring the world, its got deviations that serve as "pals" for you and your base. Warband faction raiding. Workshop defence, territory control. Im pretty sure I've barely scratched the surface too. With it coming to mobile soon, it's effectively going to be a 4X Survival MMO, the likes of which doesn't really exist in the market today. If Fallout 76, The Division, and ESO had a baby, it would be this. Once Human has infinite possibilities.
That's the issue though. The game is full of all of those things that it loss its identity. And the theme also all over the place. It is barely a horror theme anymore with all the weird, alien things and cute pals
The electric drills and chainsaws and the mustang makes this game even better. The building is really great and you have alot of freedom and blueprints you can find and YOU CAN FISH!! AND HAVE FISHTANKS and there are a TON of fish and the battlepass is so easy to clear with really good rewards that are worth alot being sold and recipes for food is really great as well as the agriculture feature they have to auto farm your crops. There are a ton of different enemies and they are very unique and the rewards that come from weapon, gear and mystical chests offer great rewards. This game is not greedy and it gives out alot of great rewards and you never feel like youre behind a paywall. Sureee the voice acting is missing on most characters but there is so much lore to learn and journals to find. This game is very well refined and excited to see what happens going forward.
This. You will never be tired of this game even after 120+ hours. Theres so many things to do it feels like a loophole. I enjoy interacting to other players and enjoy buying and selling materials.
Me and 5 of my friends are having a blast. Its just goof fun. Some of the puzzles got my rolling. My buddy got trapped in the hospital for a hr by the living wheel chair.
Just been playing solo for about 25 hrs and also having an awesome time. My house full of cats is so awesome :D Plus I'm just trippin balls that the story is actually decent and the bosses are really cool and it's all free.. And I'm 36 so it says quite a bit these days that something can hook me
I figured out the puzzle pretty quick but couldn't get passed it. Looked up a guide and learnt nothing else. Took about 15 mins longer than it should have...all because I was simply misreading the date lol.
Secret world is one of my favorite mmo experiences. Not the best game but the setting / armosphere were just better than anything i have played since. This game gives me that vibe though.
it gives me the same vibe, sadly it has much less lore/ mystery plots/puzzles. If, with enough funding, they up that and do some solid stuff to it, I'll be hyped. It's almost, ALMOST gotten me to want to reinstall secret world but that's really jank with not fun gameplay.

From what a read on their discord is that each seasons will be a different "scenario" with different world events and things happening. They have 2 full seasons ready (2x6 weeks) and planning on adding more.

I'm having a blast with this game. It has the MMO or Ubisoft highly repetitive nature where you go from outpost to outpost and do all the same things over and over (activate rift beacon, find mystical crate, find 1 or 2 gear crates, kill 15 enemies, kill an elite enemy, lather, rinse, repeat) but the tedium of the repetition is softened by the fact that the moment to moment gameplay is quite good. The gunplay is good, the guns feel varied and properly punchy, the feedback is great, as is the sound design. What really surprised me is how good melee felt in this gun-focused game; it is floaty, but it feels really good to me. I particularly like the shoulder charge move. It also helps that this game has some great creature designs, both in terms of the visuals and the way the creatures attack/behave.
never was RNG. its a price pool of 20 which you exaust. so worst case is 20 pulls for the item you want which is 10k. but since you usually get your item sooner and the other prices are BP parts to level up your other blue prints, gambling is always better than buying.
@@Zagriel. no, this is not RNG. random number generator is like throwing a dice. chances for each event stay the same. this game uses geometric distribution (urn problem) for the wish machine where chances for each consecutive event change since you deplete i fixed pool of items. but don't worry. math is hard for most people

The list below is everything you'll keep, regardless of seasons and servers switching up: Important Currency: Starchroms, Crystgins, Mitsuko's Marks, Stellar Planula, and Sproutlets Gear Blueprints (and their stars), Blueprint Fragments, Weapon Accessories, and Mods Furniture Formulas (except those gained through your Memetics) Cosmetics, Expressions and Poses, Namecards, and more House Blueprints. After a House Blueprint is saved, you can reconstruct the building at any time (if advanced materials are not available, basic materials will be used in building instead) Main story and side story task progress (for the tasks you've already completed, you can accept more streamlined versions of them in the new season but still get all the rewards) Your friend list will fully carry over. Furthermore, you can check which players joined your Warband in the previous seasons and add them to your friend list The list below is content that is "partially carried over" into a new Once Human season: Essential resources like materials, medicine, and ammunition can be carried over into a new season based on item transferring rules so you can progress faster in the new season And besides all that, you have your Eternaland where nothing get's ever reset and you can most of your stuff in there and partly even out again for the next season. The Gaming Merchant also has a video clearly explaining and comparing the privacy policy from other games, disproving all the incorrect assumptions. Once Human also had a livestream addressing and clarifying the issue. I suggest you guys watching them. TLDR: Once Human's privacy policy is no different than most, if not all, other games we play. @@zweigrave7092 it's not a full reset. You keep everything except character levels and items you leave in the open world bases. You keep your blueprints, items stored in the eternal land, and any currency you have made. So you could literally make legendary gear from the start of the new season if you have the materials. Just got to re level the character.

All is fun and games till you unlock the JAWS! Little tip with semi weapons; Change your settings so it will auto fire so your DPS will increase! Jelly is god tier deviation. You do not need another source of heal or sanity restore till end of the game!
Scanning through the comments I was wondering the same thing. I hate seasonal wipes as well, but Eternaland remains your own persistent personal world.
Seasons may sound bad for some, but if the game didnt have seasons, new players would be playing in zones with no players because everyone would be playing on the endgame zones (in my server the starting zone is already deserted) i guess its just another way of extending the content but its probably better for this type of game. At least you can have a permanent building in an island across seasons
What i llike about seasons is there would always be something new and race to end game is not a thing , even blocking progress to higher levels per week makes the game accessible without being a time hog.
I've spent about 55 hours since launch, completed every task, every objective and zones/towns there is to offer in phase 1. Level 65 battlepass. Level 39 character. Spent about 25h building! Now i just wait for phase 2 to start. Having a blast with some of my buddies. Love the game!

Hi Forced Gaming! this is my first MMO " just got my first pc and im 30 lol" Once I got past the learning curve 5-6 hrs in I started loving it.. I admit I love the base building and have spent alot of time renovating my island get away haha but I also love how Nothing goes to waste and there is an abundance of inventory space from the get go. so I pretty much collect everything I see and dont have too worry about getting over encumbered plus you have fast travel so if you do you can easily drop it at your base. every mechanic feels very polish. that might be my lack of experience in the genre or pc games in general 😆 but yeah gameplay is so satisfy and would still play if it wasnt multiplayer but that is just a cherry on top. cant believe this is free. Began in PvE but am trying out PvP atm and was very easy too level back up to where I was after I had do it already. but anyway I love this game so Shout out to you and Asmondgold For putting me on! 😁 Edit: my only complaint is how easy it is 😆 and I never thought id be saying that but yeah Its very "beginner" friendly XD another Edit: Loved how Melee felt

Even the difficulty negative isn't really a "con". We are all playing on "Novice" servers after all (it's in the name even) and they will obviously add other ones in the future.
@@CatSixty6Yeah. Weirdly a lot of reviews so far make it feel kinda... lifeless. The monster design is great. There's a lot of cool stuff in the game, but it feels kinda like it's lacking an identity. I'm guessing it's just not coming across well in the reviews. It's like "Oh! It's an MMO survival crafting base building looter shooter PvE & pseudo-PvP with Lovecraft vibes..." It just feels like it has so many things that it does well, but nothing particular that stands out enough to give it an identity.
There was an old game called Game Dev Tycoon. You make a software company and make games, and as you get more advanced, you unlock the ability to do things like to multi-genres. This game reminds me if someone installed a modded "select all" button onto the genre selection from that game, and then published the output as Once Human. This game has so much to do. And I have to say, I like it.
People keep harping on the seasonal resets when I really think it's being looked at incorrectly. If you look at the things you keep (Blueprints including blueprint fragments, story progress, almost all of the currencies, weapon attachments) it's not that dissimilar from the seasonal content other games in the genre dole out. The biggest difference for me is that this way or releasing content could theoretically get away from infinitely increasing gear scores and the loss of older gear by it losing it's relevancy. I get more excited when I find a blueprint knowing that is a permanent upgrade or sidegrade for my character. A reset is just the wrong way of looking at it.
Having my progress / playtime effectively wiped and reset every 6 weeks is a huge waste of time and flat out makes me not want to play it. There is so many games i have to play (that dont do that) that i can sink my limited time in to over however long i please. If it had servers like Enshrouded where you have your own world then i would play it, but yea such stupid idea to reset. It also creates HUGE FOMO, which is 100% what they are going for to get people to spend and play so im 100% out.
Biggest issue this game has for me is how easy and often times brain dead feeling the enemies are, a lot of the more regular enemies feel like they have little to no AI other then periodically waking up and trying to hit you. The zombie like creatures are the biggest offense to this, they aren't a threat at all.
It hits a lot of bullseyes but sometimes it's a little rough around the edges but so far they're doing a great job. It has a magic X factor that makes it an adventurous experience and playing with friends feels real badass when you storm into places like special forces and I don't know why this is more immersive than other multi player games.
Just in case another person likes building as much as I do. You can put the FAN foundation into the CRESCENT foundation, to allow curved walls on a flat surface. Can't do it the other way round though which is weird.
60 hours in and i love it so much. And it seems only your level and the house gets rest, and the house you can save as a blueprint. The reset is made to give players all the Mystic Boxes that gives item puzzle pieces to get more gear like weapons and armor. And the Starchrom currency which they give you thousands each week when completing that event, along with letting you farm for it in your base with the Silo which lets you summon waves of enemies while you defend it.
I've been genuinely loving the game, not sure exactly why but it ticks whatever box my dumb brain desires. Proper amount of dopamine, grinding, and exploration and puzzle solving.
Biggest gripe is the faux open world. You need to go to hubs and towns, talk to the right npc to unlock content and it is linear. No way to bypass x and go straight to z. You need to x then y and reach z. Not a deal breaker, but why would I go into a zone early or explore if I absolutely need to talk to a npc for permission to do certain things. Biggest example of this js Intrest points. Dropping new there are symbols for them, for some reason and then come to find out 30 minutes of exploring trying to get the goodies, I need to do certain steps to unlock them. Also Devients are annoying to collect. You go to an area surrounded by messages telling you to do something to unlock a Deviant, but coke to find out NPC y gives you the side quest to get the Deviant and they tell you how to unlock it along the way. Why have whispers?
I literally have no idea what you’re talking about lol Having played it a lot so far this is so foreign to my experience just playing the game naturally. Most deviants (important ones) come naturally and from side quests.
60 hours in and can’t stop playing. Once you fully get into the game it’s so addicting and fun. I said to my buddy today I actually can’t believe this is a free game. Would happily of paid money for it.
One other positive for the game is that the game still runs well on older graphics cards. I'm currently playing using a GTX 760 and the game is running smoothly and looking good without any lag or graphical issues. This in an era where most new graphically rich games are beyond my rig's ability to play. While this only impacts a smaller subset of potential players, it is a welcome benefit for those of us saving up to upgrade.
I've heard unconfirmed voices about the 6 weeks reset, that we may not be forced to leave the old season and just play on the "old" servers beyond the 6 weeks time
@@vladaking91 you don’t lose it, it just goes into the eternal realm. Which just means it’s not gonna be part of the new season. It’s like Diablo. They want you to make a new character every season to keep getting season rewards.
Only thing that resets is lvls and base, u get ur base as a blueprint to rebuild no problem. You guys are cry babies and take the smallest things way out of proportion, no wonder why most game companies make milk simulators instead of actual games.
I'm really considering playing this. I took a look at The First Descendant, but Warframe is my main looter shooter and everyone is saying Warframe is just better. Once Human looks distinct enough with the open world survival experience that I might give it a go.
The fact that there are season resets and you have to start over every 6 weeks coupled with the fact that the battle pass is tied to a character/server and if you switch or start over you will have to buy it again are preventing me from committing to this. I DID enjoyed the beta tho.
I was cautious but my friends hopped on with me and suddenly the idea isn’t as daunting but we’ll see after the first wipe if it’s something that’s worth sticking around for.

THE MAIN PROBLEM in this game , as for me - NO PEOPLE !!!! if u lucky guy , you can see one in few hours , and it feels so EMPTY without in game people . Too many layers ! many structures , many signts of people , but no one....real post apocalypse
The territory is probably my favorite feature of this game. You can build the house of your dreams and move the ENTIRE thing to the other side of the map for FREE on a 10 minute cooldown. All of your crafting benches, all of your storage, everything brought to you instantly if you find an empty plot of land. If you cant find a plot nearby? No worries, fast travel to your current territory is free, with a 10 minute cooldown
Definitely had the reverse of you on this. First descendant had everything I have wanted in these grindy games. Compendium of everything to farm and where to find it in game, long term progression, and communication from the devs that cool fun builds arent going to get nerfed into the ground. With once human i couldnt get past the tutorial before the clunkyness of the movement made me give up. I was already on the fence due to the resets every month in a half also. Hope they both do well and improve the issues they have though.
Is the movement really that bad in this game? Because tbh that’s the main reason I’m not enjoying the first descendant it feels too much like I’m neck deep in mud when running and shooting aside from the grapple hook.
I never understand this point of view. Seasonal games give you a reason to start over typically, if done right. Most games, even valheim, I like to start from scratch each playthrough. Only MMO's do I care about maintaining my existing characters and gear
They will be addressing that issue, they talked with pirate software and many others about it and you still get to keep like most things anyways in the current model too
I'm pretty sure I'm on the right path with my theory. If people read what actually happens with the seasons. Your story and side quest continue over, that means your anchors do as well. Only thing that really gets deleted is your level and your buildings. But it's the fact your story progression and even side quests carry over. So everything you do and have accomplished still happens. It still builds up. The fact permanent seasons will be added later. This has to be some Langolier type Deviant resetting the island to slow your progress on your counter attack on the old ones and we will get the chance to beat whatever deviant is causing it.I mean it's hopeful thinking but the context clues lead me to believe this may be the case.
I believe this game will go down as one of the best of 2024. It has staying power and it’s fun. The devs and Once human team have really done a great job especially compared to various other game studios releasing games as of late.

I do not understand how these content creators can log this many gaming hours and pump out videos. I haven't worked in a year. All I do is play video games for like 80% of my waking life and they lap me on hours played.

I am real player and can make streamers their lives bad just by playing. Reason why only a few actually do PVP and succeed. I understand your point and I can fairly say they be in beta access or use cheats or real money. Very few people who stream and are geniune... very few indeed.
I think the most important part of this is that they have a beautiful/interesting world with it being an RPG and survival and yet it just is not confusing. Everything is explained and you never feel confused or stuck. You keep on keepin on and I love it. This is probably top 5 games ever for me. I love survival games in general and this game has probaably ruined other survival games for me. This game is way too good for a "survival game". I love it man!
The privacy issue is based on the line saying "government issued identification (in countries where the law dictates)", this is here because the game is also in China where your hours played are tracked and you can only play computer games by using your government ID. It has no bearing anywhere else in the world, get over it people or move to China if you think you are missing out. Game looks real good, too bad the 6 week seasons.
This game doesn't have real PVP it's a conditional PVP as an implementation goes but even if it was real PVP server ping and projectile detection is just terrible. PVE npc's are super dumb, you can cheese every boss... battlepass skins are bad, Loot feels meaningless. what else to say here this guy said everything else.

Im loving the game, Im enjoying the game a lot with my friends. We're all into it a bunch. Buuuuuuuut .... This is definitely a Live Service that isnt going to last past the first year. Netease is defo gonna pull this rushed unfinished slapped together does everything because the scope creep is its own Deviation. And its not gonna give Netease their expected profits.
I just really hoped they would get the dialogues, voice acting and bosses up to shape, it feels like very early access in these aspects. Otherwise really fun and addictive game.
I honestly believe like their original idea and design for this game was to be PvP oriented, something along the lines of the Rust gameplay loop, but they probably realized that they were going to capture a bigger audience if they included more PvE. I mean it doesnt make any sense otherwise to have seasonal wipes.
Seasonal thing is kinda why I want to play this game, every single mmo I get drained coz nothing to do this might be just what the game needs to thrive
I wasn't going to try it due to the wipes, but it turns out the wipes aren't half as bad as people say. I also though "2 weeks isn't enough time" i'm already lvl 21 and about half way through the season board after 2 days of playing. Playing A LOT, since i'm in a position to do that, and having a lot of fun doing it. The 8 different menu's to unlock things is kinda confusing at first, but you get the hang of it pretty fast. As long as they don't start to monetize the systems we have now, i find it fun to have so much to unlock and shoot for. It's a dopamine farm basically lol. Pull the lever, get the thing. Only it's not predatory. . . YET, as of August 2024. I can see them really messing this up with creeping overmonetization. But all in all it brings some of my favorite elements from past games into one game. Like Division, Defiance, Fallout 76 etc and somehow does a better job, again, SO FAR. Let's see how they do long term.
i played the beta and a few hours on release but i would add that the community of this game is real nice and helpful. a rarity in modern gaming. also my worst criticism is that building is expensive early game. 10 wood for a wall doesnt go far if you build a large base and complete early game crafting
Man people are so misinformed on the wipes. They’re barely even wipes. Like a guy said in the comments, you keep like 90% of your stuff. Yes, your stuff will get sent to a private instance, but there is an obtainable currency in game that you can use to bring it out of the private instance and into the new season. The only things that gets wiped is your level and the map. This is to introduce new scenarios and stories/quests etc. People are massively overreacting on the ‘wipes’ and have no idea what they’re talking about, despite the devs talking about this in depth. So frustrating that people are shitting on the game, for something they have genuinely not even researched, looked into or even absorbing the information that has been put out by the devs.
I didn't play Beta -- but in release there is this place called "Eternaland" where you can save things between seasons and spend a currency to transfer some materials from Eternaland into the new season. Also, Eternaland lets you build structures in what feels "god mode". It lets you ignore building support requirements to create unique structures. You also didn't mention how you can pick up various objects in the world (like exploding barrels) and telekinetically launch them at enemies. Also, there are the briefcases and headlamps that some enemies drop that you can use to attack other enemies. The quantity of variants in this game is staggering. I just wish they hadn't carried over that insane variety to the menu system, which I *still* haven't mastered yet.
I must say I was a bit hesitant to start this game but upon seeing your video review of it has changed my mind and I’ll give it a go, thanks for the really informative review great content
Us as gamers that enjoy this game we have to vote with our wallets I will say I will be buying a battle pass and skins within a month if I’m still playing it and cosmetics so I can tell the game devs that f2p games with no pay to win can work. As soon as that p2w opens up then my wallet will close!
Thanks for mentioning the keymapping issues, as that is often ignored by reviewers. The keymapping issue is keeping me from playing the game, which is sad because it looks fun.
