I must’ve missed the obvious point of the video - if you buy a pass, I’m assuming you can play all the machines for free, at least for a certain amount of time? Come on Steven, you’ve got to at least explain the basics!
I think that's absolutely fantastic, you pay £16 entry and then ALL of the games are FREE TO PLAY. To pay £40 entry for a family, wow that's excellent value for hours of entertainment. It's great that you have put Arcade Club on the map Stephen. There will be a lot of people who were unaware of it's existence, until now. Also it was very helpful of you to take the time to show people how to get there xx
Brilliant video. There’s nothing like being surrounded by those old machines, the aroma of the cabinets, the flicker of the CRT screens, the games looping in play with those all familiar sounds, all from years gone by in long forgotten arcades, They evoke a beautiful memory back to a care free life in the 80s & 90s, where life was simpler. I’d pay just to walk around there to evoke that feeling let alone play them! Probably my favourite video yet. Hope you got back to PlayExpo sometime too 👾🕹️🕹️
Brilliant arcade I had a great night there Last year. It was like being in coral Island back in the nineties so many great games. I thought the pizzas were delicious as well.
Looks fantastic! If only there were more of these establishments and less of those ‘gambling’ arcades with the one-arm bandits and fixed odds betting terminals.
Enjoyed that video stephen. Remember playing these games back in my younger years. Paper boy and Space Invaders. Hopefully Arcade club will bring more visitors to Blackpool.
Hi Stephen. Blimey, talk about a nostalgia trip! I remember spending many an afternoon on Space Harrier, Commando (really tough game), Hang On, Ghosts And Goblins, Donkey Kong, Berzerk, Defender etc. Next time I'm in Blackpool I'll defo be checking this place out (while my wife goes shopping 😂).
WoW I’ve never heard of this place it looks amazing I definitely gonna give it a visit I been to something similar in Walt Disney world but Blackpool is a bit closer a big thank you Stephen 🕹
Arcade Club not seen one of these before although if I recall Aston Villa fc used to do the pinball club not sure if that still runs. I used to love my pinball machines, Terminator, Gorgar, Star Trek, The Simpsons and my favourite Hook. I also love fruit machines and arcade games Galaxian always my favourite but yes Space Invaders a classic. Certainly brings back memories when I left school and would go straight down the arcade in my home town.
Great video, stopped at Blackpool for a couple of nights in December with the family for all the Christmas festivities - have a video of Arcade Club I did while there up on my channel.
Good video it's nice to see a new arcade in Blackpool it'll keep kids entertained this half term and through the Summer when blackpools heaving and busy good video can't wait for the next one
Brilliant Steve didn't know about this good price as well and all the machine are free never seen a arcade set up like that in uk all the retro machines lined up like that reminds me of an American arcade cafe and a bar on site as well brilliant 👏 😀
The Lyndene looks weird without the outside lights on. I remember when the football club was just 2 stands & the pitch that's a nice stadium. That arcade club looks mint I'll have to try that I remember playing paperboy in the arcade on the Pleasure Beach 🤣😂
The football ground looks really smart on the outside now Rachel (I visited it today on a trip to Blackpool). A lot different to when I last went on there there in the 90s to watch a game, when it looked a scruffy shambles.
Manchester has had something similar for quite some time, known as NQ64. I stumbled upon it accidentally 4 years ago when meeting with a friend. It blew my mind. Loved it.
This takes me back. Arcades used to be like this, now it’s all ticket machine games - bleh! I hope to visit this place for my birthday! Looks better than I’d imagined! Almost a museum in itself!
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool you highlighted a few faces such as Operation Wolf, Daytona and Final Fight. Many a happy summer evening spent pumping coins into those machines.
Great nite for u all stephen. Glad u all enjoyed yourselves. Good price and a goid nite out. Will go there in april when we visit blackpool. Glad ur well stephen. Thank u for video. Take care. 😊👍👍
Fantastic video Stephen, lovely to see you with Steve & Stocky again. It looks so much fun in there, might just have to drag you in there next time I'm down, we'll have a good laugh. Really want to try the pizza too xx
Thank you so much for showing us around when I’m in Blackpool next I’m Definitely going there. Out run and operation wolf my favourite not sure if sega rally 2 was there love that as well👍👍👍👍
Arcades are really not my thing Stephen but this was a really good watch. It's good for the town that a business as big as this can bring in so many people.
Ohh so looking forward to the re-build of St Chads then the Lyndene......only thing going for the Lyndene is the superb entertainment ..rooms need sorting..we love it years ago but needs sorting now.
Every arcade on the Golden Mile used to be like that. Would spend hrs in Coral Island alone. Spent so much money on Daytona USA. Still my fave even though home consoles have better graphics now. That retro Star Wars game is worth a visit in itself. I will 💯% be going when i visit in a couple of months. Had no idea it was even there. 👍
Every "arcade" now whether it's on the golden mile or any of the 3 piers isn't actually arcades at all. All those ticket machines or grab-a-teddy ones. Which you can actually buy in shops for about a fiver actually if you look closely enough.
What a brilliant concept to bring back like an old fashioned arcade with retro machines & make it a club with a proper bar & restaurant aswell. It means gaming doesn't have to be done at home. It means people can go out and socialise for real again and play the arcade machines. Multiplay xbox you are still on your own but if you go to the arcade with friends you can't beat proper contact with your mates from kids to adults. Like a snooker club where you pay for the light but with arcade machines where you pay a flat fee. You could have a club fruit machine club for over 18s only full of retro club fruit machines like JPM Club Casino Crazy etc & some new machines but with a proper bar & restaurant the same but make that members only. Great concept trying to get people back outside to enjoy gaming. Not stuck in the house which is long term unhealthy & the game play on the old arcade machines is still better than xbox etc as they were far more addictive somehow and simpler to play. I used to be addicted to POLE POSITION. Happy days!. Thanks Stephen for a brilliant insight into this great concept that surely can catch on massively
Thanks Chris. The business model has performed well for Arcade Club in their other venues at Bury and Leeds, so I'm sure the Blackpool venue will do equally as well, or better.
Would have visited the club ,but the prices are too steep . If my son and I went in ,it would only be for a couple of hours max . A tenner for a couple of hours seems reasonable.
Last time I was on a fruit machine was in the casino at Monaco. They have given about a third of the place to friut machines. Spoilt the experience a little.
Never been a gamer myself (I'm too ancient for all that stuff), but it's a nice place and a great idea to pay an entrance fee then play on anything you like. My surprise news! I actually walked past the place today when I went to have a look at Blackpoool F.C. stadium, and what a very smart ground it looks now with the club shop and hotel. Not to mention the superb statue of Jimmy Armfield a Blackpool and England legend, who was a real gentleman of the game. Don't know whether you're into football Stephen, but it might be nice if you could do something related to Blackpool F.C. for fans of the game (and that's coming from a PNE follower). Ps. I also visited the Yorkshire Fisheries restaurant today on my little adventure, and it was superb! I mentioned to the staff that your review of the place was my reason to visit it, and the couple across at another table said it was their reason for being there as well, so word is getting around. The lovely lady managing the place seemed aware of your review and your channel, so you might be getting a discount if you pop in again! 😄
The place doesn't look very busy. If you're gonna pay £16 to play a bunch of retro games you need to make a day of it or you're not getting your money's worth. Just seems dumb to pay that if you don't know what's in the place or if you don't plan to hang around for more than a couple hours. I can't see a business like this lasting much longer
hi Stephen I'm sorry but I would not pay £16pounds to go in their arcade that's a rip-off no not a chance you can play these games on the golden mile plenty of arcades you don't have to pay to go in to...there taking the mick ste...
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool I don't see how anyone could miss this information, it's in the live chat (approx 7mins 45 ) as well as in the pinned comment at the top of this page xx
I wouldn't step foot in that place when you can play these games on the main front ey stephen. £16 for 1 person & £40 for a family for enterance is a joke. It's an absolute disgrace 😤 😒
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool Hmmm 🤔 perhaps this person needs to have THEIR eyes tested Stephen. Either they have read Lyndene incorrectly, or maybe they just can't spell xx
