This is not a Travel Guide or Itinerary, this is just a glimpse of what it's like to visit Paris when you already live in France. I think my perspective is unique and hope to give you an entertaining glimpse of what it's like to be an expat in France visiting some of the sites of the Marais District in Paris.
In July of 2023 I went up to Paris for the weekend on the train from my home in the French Alps. It was during the Paris Riots and demonstrations but I still got to explore the "Marais" District without any real inconvenience.
I saw the quaint sites like "rue cremieux" and the iconic sites like the "Bastille" and the "Place des Vosgues" but mostly I just explored, coming across canals and street art and skate boarders, and my favorite part of this trip, the "Promenade Plantée" or Paris High-line. A 3 mile long path and park on an abandoned elevated train line. A real Gem !
