Richter was Chris in Resident Evil 1. I don't think he was ever given a lesson in acting, and he probably didn't feel he needed it with how popular that game was.
Having watched an HD upload of the original, Richter's VA actually _does_ inflect emotion... but it's masked by the warbly mic, so it's harder to hear (especially in lesser-quality recordings). And he's certainly not going _as_ hard as Dracula's VA.
In the original they make Dracula look bored and annoyed just for existing as he talks to another man. That posture aloone looks hilarous here as it looks like he's just looking down at him the whole time. It's like "Hehe look at that little guy! That's the best they could send to defeat me? I don't even need to get up, I'll just squash him with this wine glass!"
Loyale Soulation and you think the original Metal Gear was all great Voice acting? Sure you had some real gems but then you also had "HURT ME MORE" (and not the infinitely superior Twin Snakes voice.)
That would make sense, but the fact that is a mere stab the attack that can kill a player character, but they can survive apocalypse-like attacks that they themselves cause sometimes (like Neo Bahamut, for example) always strikes me as odd. In battle you can resist mind-blowing devastating attacks, but in a cutscene every wound can be fatal.

I'm not talking about that. What I said is that if that happened on a battle instead of a cutscene you could use a phoenix down to bring her back. In a battle you face deadlier stuff than a stab, like the always amazing Sephiroth's super nova. It's just that in most games, battles appear to be conveniently out of the canon of the game. The things that happen in battles usually barely affect the story.
I love how The Kid's body is SHATTERED APART BY A VIOLENT SHOWER OF BLOOD AND GORE... due to a glass of blood being thrown on him. And I agree with CrazyKoopaCat.
