When Wolfgang Arschfresser left Germany to pursue a music career in the United States, he left behind a legion of adoring fans and risked everything for the chance to hit it big. His first few singles didn't make much of an impression on the general public, but David Hasselhoff took notice and struck up a friendship with Wolfgang. Eventually, after a night of intense cocaine consumption, Wolfgang revealed to his new friend that he had eaten Hasselfhoff's mother's ass during their drug fueled shenanigans and his first American hit single was born. "I Wanna Eat That Ass" rose to the top of the charts and became the theme song for the German international soccer team at the World Cup.

Our band opened for Arschfresser when we were touring the tiny Republic of Togo in 1983. We had been warned of the on-stage antics, but we were actually shocked when he came onstage with his band clad only in thongs made from banana skins. The Togolese people went crazy in appreciation, while we, wearing only our thigh-high stiletto fuck-me boots and nipple clamps, felt woefully consrvative. Still, good times.

Fun fact... Wolfgang Archfresser started his career on the show HR Puff N Stuff as the mayor himself. While the show launched his career, he wanted to be recognized instead of the costum he was in. After a few years of turmoil, he slid into a drug induced haze of fish paralyzers and Darvon and would chase them with a bottle on gin. He woke up in a gutter on the morning of April 6th, 1977 and decided to turn his life around. Attending rehab with Grace Jones and Rip Taylor, he found a keyboard in the trash and a star was born. Penning the classic , Wolfgang shot to the top of the charts and sold out stadiums throughout North America and Asia. The success however was short lived when he started living on a laxative diet and slipped into oblivion. He was a shooting star in the sky of wonder.

Kult! This song is a stunning classic that really showcases Arschfresser's musical and lyrical genius. His avantgardistic take on traditional topics, so often misunderstood, was what later cemented his legacy and earned him his spot in the Rock 'n Roll hall of fame. To this date it is still played whenever Germany hosts home games, and there is a petition to bring it back as the official song to be played after goals scored by the Nationalelf at the upcoming EUROs. It is basically treated like the unofficial national anthem. The original record is extremely rare to find nowadays (2769€ on discogs for the only available mint copy!!), but there are rumours of a repress with a remastered version by none other than the man Hans "Schwanzlurch" Zimmer himself, limited to only 500 copies of chocolate brown vinyl.
