I live in Nevada City and my choice of rides would either be the Pioneer Trail, or with that much power, down and up the Scotts Flat Trail. I can't imagine any ride more exciting that having enough power to ride up the Scotts Flat Trail. The switchbacks would be uber-cool.

Bob, i would like to see a picture of this bike!! You are running 2- 2160Ah batteries, this would be on average 120mile range per battery. What controllers are you running and how are you dealing with the battery drains, as well as the splits to each motor? I would really like to see your setup and how you worked out the wiring.

@@eddiebroxson6569 Hi Eddie, My phone's camera is on the blink but here's the picture....You take a BCA brand 29"21speed mtb, remove the pedal 6 assy. replace it with a bafang1000w mid drive. feed it with 72v through a ASI BAC 800 controller and NXT display(touch control. Use a NB 8000w rear hub with a 72v 150amp. controller. I use two 72v 30amp hour batteries and I combine all four pos. and negative wires with solder connectors. I use either two 72v chargers or my big 6amp into the twinned charge lines. The hub brings me up to speed then I shift to high (52/11 tooth) and let either or both take me ANYWHERE. We have a little rise/drop in Hwy 51 east of Tallequah Ok which will make you think you have fallen off the edge of the planet. It's called Eldon Hill. It smokes cheep controllers. The BCA bike is the last bike made I America and it alone has a rear axle mount strong enough to stand the 12800 watts the two systems generate. The ERT controller/display let you fine tune power to keep the old handlebar out of your teeth. The hub uses its own programmable 150amp controller. Range with pedal assist amounts to around 175 miles, probably twice that if you only use the 4800watt mid drive, good luck to you.

Tyler Koehn, My two test rides were about 5 minutes each and on the road mostly. I think the bike handled fine for its size and weight. It’s a big boy! I’m going to use it to ride around our small town and take camping in the mountains. I wanted a change from my carbon road bike. After some minor changes it should be a perfect change of pace for me when I need one. I can’t wait for it to come in. Hope this helps 👍🏻

The frame is ultimately all that matters on a basic ebike. Swapping out the controller, motor and display etc is relatively easy for anyone with the ability to follow directions, some DIY experience and basic tools. Just did a contoller (different brand) and display upgrade on my kids ebike this weeeknd, few hrs tops taking my sweet time.

Mac Cat: Most of us, probably all of (deep, down inside) agree with your sentiments. Specialized and Trek failed to be able to continue in business without offshore help, mostly from the Taiwanese (rather than China). Prior to their bankruptcy years ago, Ned Schwinn and Family opened a robotized plant in Alabama. For whatever reason, they Could Not Get that plant To Be either Efficient or Profitable (and Alabama is a non-Union, Right-To-Work-Law State). In all of this there were only Non-Electric bicycles.

If you find an ebike truly made in the US let me know. I am not aware of one that exists.

Also, there is a major difference between Taiwan and the CCP aka China. I consider Taiwan as NOT part of China and therefore on the list of countries I don't mind buying from.

without rear suspension ? if you go on atrail you will be catapulted off your bike, at speed.

Mid drives are great. I have a 2500w/50amp BBSHD on a KHS 5in tire fatbike with a 52v 21ah battery. Hauls my 290lb up hills (with peddling) no issues, not sure what top speed is maybe 30? I keep it to a safe 12-15mph on any trails. Going on 2 years now with it.

A lot of babble about nothing. distance?...weight?...manufactured by who in china?...customer service?...why would pay 3-5 grand for one of these bicycles?..conclusion 12:27 of bs. When the add man says get them while they last my brain tends to default to the off mode.
