I think because it wasn't coming from a place of attention seeking, and 'i'm getting married soon, I'm gonna do my shopping on her schedule!!', instead it was, omg I love this dress and you don't want it so i'm gonna try it on and we can be funny together. If another girl approached it from that angle, as a sense of humor and sincerity, it would have shone through.

I found a description that said her dress was custom made by Stephanie Handler, who designs and makes all Johnny's skating costumes. I was surprised the dress was much smaller and low key than the over the top dresses from this episode. She never mentioned lace either, as it's such a prominent feature on her dress.

Mehhhh.. I was not overly impressed. I was getting drama queen vibes from him.

I hate it. Just total limelight hogging. I’d that was her best female friend or her mom they’d be getting torn to shreds in the comments and rightly so. This is no different other than the fact he’s a man. Still an attention seeking crap friend who made her moment about him.

I'm really curious to know which one she chose, or if she ever went back to try them on again. I liked the second one, I think Johnny was correct that it fit her figure better, but it was still flowy and big.

I see in another comment that she had a dress made and it was nothing like these dresses! And Johnny wrote a suit😉

I liked both dressed but the bows on the first one, and that split panel thing on the other one needed to go. the bows reminded me of lingerie, and the other looked like it was trying to squeeze in historical romance but the rest of the dress did not match it

First dress was terrible. The bows on the boobs gave the alusion she was taking part in a cheap soft porn movie and the skirt was like someone borrowed come curtains from the theatre. The one Johnny tried was more red carpet than wedding dress and didn't fletter her hips. The sparkly tulle ballgown she had on was the nicest of them all, but was more prom dress than wedding dress. The last one made her look like a cake topper but was better than the first one.

Johnny doesn't take things so seriously. Nor do I. And, full disclosure, I have NEVER seen ANY drag queen who didn't have more sparkle and wow than I ever will. I say Johnny looked awesome in the dress, I love the spirit of play, and I think he supported his friend really lovingly and well.

He's nice he's just honest. He wasn't sounding mean when he said she was pear shaped or anything, just stating the facts (we all have to be some form of shape). Trying on a dress was no doubt encouraged by the producers because of who he is and his brand, but I think it's different for a guy than a girl and he was just mucking around.

A pear shaped body type is THE NUMBER 1 most desired shape after the obvious Hourglass body. Someone pointing out that you have a pear shape is only an insult if you happen to live in the twilight zone....

He is just adding a little pizzazz to the show. Usually don't see this, but did see one episode where the mom who was also engaged tried on a wedding dress. It seem to devastate her daughter, understandably. Johnny was just providing comic relief. I thought it was cute, not vindictive in any way as it was with that mom n that other episode horning in on her daughter's day.

I think it's just a schtick for the show. Whenever they have a celebrity in the entourage, the celebrity brings some drama. It's just silly fun.

Maybe it's her mother's wedding gift to her.

My daughter has a job, is highly educated and successful and I, her mother absolutely demand my right to pay for her dress and wedding. It's an honour that I will not be denied! To each their own, I guess?

@@kelsey2333 Yes, it took hard work and dedication to pull myself up by the bootstraps and out of poverty to make a better life for us. My daughter is the first person in my family to get a university education. We see opportunity in adversity and do not squander them. She's an exceptional person who was my chief cheerleader and reminded me why I should never give up regardless of how hard things got. So yes, I will give her the moon if I could. A wedding of her dreams is a very small trade off.
