It’s sad how more and more people keep getting divorced. I talked to an 85 year old woman who said communication and being nice to one another is how you make it work. They have been married for over 60 years.

It doesn't always work out like that. I was married for nearly three years. It lasted that long before I kept hanging on. He told me " I don't want you, I don't need you, and I don't love ". Than he said that I can't move in with him into his new apartment so I had to move back to my parent's with my son. It's been 7years now and I still don't know what I did wrong. So it always takes two to tangle.

I saved up and paid cash for my house. Don't let anyone say it can't be done. I moved back in with my Mom when I graduated from college and helped out as much as I could around the house and worked as much O.T. as I could and I also sold my really expensive pickup truck that was already paid off. Don't take out a loan. It disconnects your time from money. Money is always more precious to you and harder to part with, when you look back at how much sweat and blood and time and lack of sleep you put into making it. Then you don't let people make you over pay for stuff. Remember you only get ripped off if you let people rip you off.

A Certified Financial Planner would tell her to take out a 30 year Along with life insurance so if she passes within the 30 years she can pass it to her son. Mortgage will be cheaper than renting in the long run

If no HOA fees, then that's really good. How much are taxes? couple of thousand a year? I always see Erie, PA on the weather channel getting couple of feet of snow in winter due to lake effect, so that wouldn't work for me.

There is good and bad debt. Mortgage debt is good. When payments are made you increase ownership of an appreciating asset via equity.

$50k house. Unless brand new is going to need some work. Like a used Mercedes Benz . Easy to buy but considering the maintenance and repair costs. Not so easy on the budget to keep it rolling. I rent in a rent stabilized apartment for the past 30 years. I pay gas, electric, and rent towards the unit and that’s it. The landlord pays, water,heat, trash disposal, taxes, common area expenses, and insurance. If your gonna buy a house make certain you have the income and resources to maintain it. Sometimes some people don’t realize how good they have it till they make changes they are sorry they did.

You can keep your TH for rent if you are comfortable with its additional responsibility and liability. If not, you can sell your TH and use that for downpayment (subtract selling fees.) There's no tax unless you sell more than $1mil.

He is an adult with disabilities. It’s probably cheaper for the state than putting him in a group home or institution. Even then there can be ridiculous waitlists for services.

@@mozellecrews6370 You should be against people getting paid just because SOME do. The more people being paid puts more of a tax burden on you!

Under Medicaid Self Directed services, a family member can become a full time caregiver for a disabled person and be paid for that service. It is considered cheaper and better for the disabled person who would otherwise end up as a ward of the state in a group home.

Unless you’re rich you have to go into debt to get the things you want. So unless you pay in full for the home then you’re going to be in debt. Debt ain’t even a bad thing. It’s just some green paper that society has given some value to 🙄 come on guys
