I prefer sirloin, never have an issue , I buy mine from a butcher who cuts it to the desired thickness , a lot of butchers cut them to app 8oz but I prefer 12oz better results in cooking but for me only 2/3 minutes each side and let it rest for half the cooking time.
Hi Keith & Nat, We are sorry the steak was chewy. I know how you feel about the Robin coming in Nat. We have a cat that sometimes brings birds in, it's scary when they are flying around. I always run and won't go back in the room until my husband gets them out. We hope you are ok, we all send our love to you both xxx
Hi Keith & Nat. The secret to a tender steak is basting 🥩 3 minutes each side to start with, then turn and baste for another few minutes, depending on rare, medium or well done. The hot juices help to make the steaks so tender 🤷♂️ Love your channel Keith, you'll have a go at anything mate, pastry excluded 🤦♂️ the 👍👍
Hi from Scotland hope you're all safe and well my friends 🏴✌️😉👍🏴...what your calling fat is called silver skin, realy tuff & chewy to eat Keith 🤢 lol
Hi no what you mean with I call it offer steaks we have a place similar to that place what I do with mine them 2 you have left make a beef stew in you instant pot and use them but put them in hole don't cut them up don't fry them in flour just throw every thing in pressure cook for 30 mins they just melt in your mouth I do roasters or mash with mine it's awsome all the best to nat
steak was chewy because you overcooked it and in the airfryer too, you actually nuked it mate ! I was waiting for you to blow bubbles, it was actually funny watching you chewing like a cow chews the cud.
Hi keith and nat its lovely to see nat keith yes cookthe steak chopped up in slow cooker on high for about 4 hours and make pies with it it should be lovely and tender .i get the cheap steaks from aldi and braise it in the oven with plenty of onions and i have it with mash and veg it goes lovely and tenderlove to you both fran xxxx ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Keith, you must show us the cctv even if you have to bleep out our Nat swearing it would be really amusing as long as no one was hurt and the robin went out safely. for the future ones, when I was little and my mum bought beef and it was gonna be tough she hit it with this thing that had like wooden spikes on that she said tenderised it. maybe you can do something like that with the rest love to yo Nat and the boys Maggie x
Margaret lol I 💩 myself 😂😂 wondered what the hell it was just seen this thing wizz past my head 😂😂😂 i turned the air blue with my language Damien an me managed to get the robin back outside with out it getting hurt shame the camera wasn't on properly 😂😂😂

I wouldn’t recommend air frying a steak too powerful always best to pan fry your more in control of how you like it. my fave is ribeye 🥩 medium to well as the fat running through it keeps it juicy and tender 👍 great vlog though x get an induction hob also save you on gas easier to control instant heat etc all the restaurants use them now apart from Indian and Chinese where they need the flame . Best wishes from a sunny ☀️🏴🏴🥩🥩🥩
The price was a warning , sirloin is around £30 -£35 a kilos , can’t blame yourself on the cooking it was poor quality, slow braising might save it but even then maybe not 👍
It won't matter how you prepare, or cook them steaks. God knows what age the cattle were or the rearing they've had. Probably reared for exactly as you were thinking of doing, only for for pie meat and even that would take a hell of a lot of doing to get them to the correct texture for a pie. They're a con. If you want a proper steak go to a butchers, otherwise the shop you did the other day has not been cost effective at all. Even stewing them will be a disaster as they're too thin and because of the quality of the cattle used being below par and the butcher's didn't age it the fibres will never tenderise. They're broilers at best. BUT on a plus side Nat you're looking fantastic. Glowing! 😊😊
Air fryer ain’t the way for steak, decent ones in pan only. Sirloin usually ain’t brilliant anyway. Ribeye or fillet the best. Fats the best bit 😂 Rump or braising steak slow cook much better.
@@PotatoPirate123 maybe so, would like to see a comparison of one cooked medium in a pan. Must be something of an improvement but even then that cut is never amazing. For £2 a piece though, hard to complain if you’re hungry.
@@pauljinks8480 I’ve had really nice sirloin but it was a quality grass fed cut. A bad steak is going to be chewy and nasty no matter how you fry it. The only salvation is to stew/braise it, but then that makes it quite an expensive steak.
Robins have meaning up here. It is supposed to represent someone who is no longer here being near you, watching over you. Never understood it myself. They are seasonal birds 😂😂
Should have tenderised them overnight if you were going to cook them today. The Chinese method using bicarbonate is foolproof , exc🎉 results every time. You could use citrus as alternative. What a shame, looked good steak and cheap. Otherwise stew in a slow cooker for 5 hours with mushrooms and booze.
The steak was tough because, the is only one way to cook any steak and that is in a frying pan,not under a grill or in a oven or air fryer just don't work the same, but the steak was over done,so better luck next time 👍
Totally agree with this but I don't think it would have stopped them being chewy if my experience with these sort of cheap meat emporiums is anything to go by. I even cooked some rump from one of these places sous vide for a few hours, and it was still chewy and gnarly. Maybe he just got unlucky but it's also often true that you get what you pay for
@@fishypie unfortunately platforms like TikTok promote stupid cooking trends and they spread to RU-vid. There is absolutely zero reason to cook a bloody steak in an air fryer, but people have been 'boiling' eggs in them and all sorts. Ok the one hand it's just a bit of fun and on the other hand it's really bloody dopey.
Cheap is cheap. Same as all these meat vans just low quality meat. I understand if you are on budget it makes sense. But when you can support your local butcher.
When cooking steaks in an airfryer you want to cook them at a lower temperature for longer. 3-4 minutes each side was not long enough and probbaly why they are chewy.
People think air fryers are great for everything, but they're just not hot enough to get a good sear.for a steak. Cooking thin steaks like this in an air fryer is a bit silly in my opinion
I never buy sirloin steak, fillet steak is the best it’s very tender & worth every penny. But cook them in a frying pan. Probably not your fault as steak can go like leather if over cooked. 👍
