She must be 93 years old! She has an amazing memory and powers of recall. Still having the identity card she wore on the train, and remembering her sister's identification number, she's a remarkable lady. We need to record their accounts now because people like this lady are a part of history.
when they were talking about how to talk about it she said "it needs to be repeated" and I think it's spot on, we need to keep talking, need to keep vigilant and keep remembering
Reminder to certain idiots in the comments that this lady has absolutely nothing to do with Israel. How about just listening to her story and showing her the respect she deserves for sharing it?
We are respecting her, and saying we should’ve learned from that atrocity by not letting another one happen. A lot of holocaust survivors who are still alive are actually pro-palestine and talk about how zionist propaganda are similar to what what said about them in nazis. If we don’t learn from history we’re bound to repeat it.
Agreed, we should continue to talk about the experiences suffered by these courageous individuals like Lady Milena and educate children about the horrors gone before. Knowledge and acknowledgment so that history can be learnt from and not repeated.
Far too many people aren’t aware or don’t believe in our history as a world and that’s a shame. We are doomed to repeat history if we don’t learn and grow from it.
@@fsociety.dat101 and there is No “innocent civilians in israel” if you chose to live in an apartheid state, you are not innocent, you are actively contributing to the occupation…
Tears came when I realised I had previously seen the footage of them in the studio surprising him, it’s amazing to watch google it. Some humans act as angels on earth
Today, we in Germany commemorate these People and their terrible Fate. Its good to see, that some have their reports is recorded in some way, because someday, no one of them will be alive anymore, who survived that hell.
It's sad that such tragedy has stayed with her all these years, it would be pretty hard to try and forget about those parts of her life even though you can see she's grateful to still have her life and to be able to escape those horrible kill camps but also saddened that so many in her family didn't make it. I remember learning about this in high school nearly 2 decades ago and it still affects me the same way it did back then. There's such a heavy toll this world can take on some people makes me sad that we still haven't learned from this 😢
To be fair Chamberlain never really thought it was peace. Everyone over there kinda knew it was war but they needed time to get everyone ready. Always more to it though
I have never understood this part of history why the Jewish people were and still are so hated by certain people. I took care of a Jewish women for 13 years until she passed away she was just another person no hate in her. Idk its ONE of the most horrific part of history that I will never understand.
Israel is really bad at genocide. Using the palestinian Arabs numbers there were 1.3 million Arabs in the territories in 1948. There are now well over 5 million people in these territories. Israelis are genocide bunglers.
You may mean well, but you should really look into why your comment is so so obnoxious and offensive. The Holocaust is a unique event. Conflating the Holocaust with what Israel is doing, however horrible, is simply antisemitic.
Her saying Holocaust education is important and THAT history should never be repeated while her people are actively perpetrating a genocide is the most flagrant display of cognitive dissonance I’ve ever seen. She only means her people shouldn’t ever face that again, not that they shouldn’t become the evil that was inflicted upon them. One day, there will be a chair placed in front of a camera and in that chair will be a survivor of the Palestinian genocide. They will tell their story and it will sound a lot like this woman’s story. Except for the part where other countries stepped in to help. No one’s smuggling kids out of Palestine. No military is swooping in to free Palestinians from their nearly 80 year nightmare. They say it’s important to learn history otherwise we’re doomed to repeat it. Yet, here we are. FREE PALESTINE 🇵🇸
Saying it’s no where near the same is ridiculous. What an uneducated statement. It’s beyond clear you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about or you wouldn’t have typed such an idiotic comment. Look into it and your narrow mind will soon realise it is.
Of all the lessons the Nativity story teaches us, it is to open our arms and hearts to those in need and those facing persecution. Just as Mary and Joseph fled persecution with their newborn baby, so did thousands of other Jews just like Lady Milena over the following centuries. This festive period, it is important to remember and recognise those facing similar hardships today.
