The seven turns in a row thing is my biggest pet peeve. I call this the "surprising spiders clusterfuck" because it happens most often when you surprise spiders in the weald. Spiders are so fast that they are all but guaranteed to go first in normal circumstances, but if you surprise them, they are forced to go last. So what this means is that if you surprise the spiders, they are going to get eight uniterrupted turns unless you manage to kill some of them, which can be difficult due to their high dodge.

This is actually very common. Which is why you bring heavy single target damage and stuns with you in pretty much every single situation. You focus fire a couple of them down, you stun something else and they get 0-1 turns off before you finish them. High level DD play is all about mastering turn economy and optimizing your turn orders. For example I like fast Vestals because they can heal people off deaths door before they can tick a bleed or get hit. They can also lead with a stun in turn one. Tons of stuff like that.

and just think, you are skipping the 2 content DLC's that add.... serious twists and pain. and aren't even playing the worst mode.... the one where you only get so many deaths and in so much time.

Asmon’s face on the abom shuffling through the void had me dying. I’d suggest doing the dlc before dd2 when you decide to return to the game.

Mike ascribing his own malice and emotional damage for his poor play to the game is absolutely the best part of this playthrough. He didn't even do Crimson Court, or the other wave based expansion.

I recommend all of the DLC for like $9 USD, Crimson Court save for a second playthrough, turn everything else on.

Mike goes into dungeon with 4 squish classes with no CC or consistent healing and then complains when he gets murdered by a single crit and loses action economy because he doesn't bother to participate in it, wastes valuable turns using bad aoes that kill nothing and then proceeds to blame the game for his attrocious play. I love it.

@@countryc0unt What gets the ball rolling is the spear crit to the grave robber, which is unlucky, but you know that move hurts and by now he should know its coming and have a stun/shuffle for it. You can't complain about focusing, because that's what the game is about. The CPU focuses because they want to kill you and that's the most efficient way of doing it. Big single target on high-value characters. This entire playthough he's played the game like its a Final Fantasy game and ignored every system the game has and not bothered to understand action economy, or the value of any kind of defense at all. You see him spamming AoEs and Marks, which are horrible btw because again DD is all about going first and making sure the enemy takes as few actions as possible and Mike is just completely oblivious and I LOVE IT.
