I'd call you "Mister," but I think I'm older😂. I was born and raised fishing! No serious bass fishing here but trout galore! I was raised up watching Gaddabout Gaddis, the Flying Fisherman, back in his early days. My Dad tossed a handful of bugs in a trout stream, to prove there were fish in that crystal water. I eventually found you and your show, it was wonderful because if I wasn't splitting firewood or working the farm, I was hard pressed except for reading. I read everything by Roderick Haig-Brown and trout became the poetry in my blood! I started watching you constantly. You didn't trout fish too much, but fishing was good on either side of the river. If you teach your kids to love fishing they do not have the money to be stoned or drunk. I guess a few may but they don't last too long. Now you are on TV with your Granddaughter and I hope you see this opportunity. You are a "Gateway," to everything that is good about the outdoors and the more young people inside, the less that are spending money staying out of trouble. Very nice to see you out here again! I'm sure I'll run into you again!

LEGEND!! YOU'RE THE MAN HANK ❤. I was born in 76 while you were fishing for AOYs & Classics etc.😂 I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being one of the greatest ambassadors of our sport! Because of you and your entire generation of pioneers I have had the greatest pleasure to Bass fish as a career and most of all for fun!! And all the camaraderie and lifelong friendships I've built along the way due to this sport you CREATED! THANK YOU Mr. Parker! I'll save my thanks for NASCAR on another podcast 😁

I know there are a few really big voices in the industries history. Davie Hyte &, Zona being two of the most popular of the current time. But the voice of bass fishing from my childhood, is Hank Parker.

Thanks Hank. I was bass crazy in the years from ‘75-‘02. In my early years I would read Bassmaster magazine from cover to cover. Enjoyed your story on the podcast.

I spent a few days filming with Knight & Hale down at Earl Bentz's farm years ago. Ray Scott and Bob Cobb were there fishing. It was neat to meet Ray, but I will be honest, I was in awe to sit around and talk to Bob Cobb, he was a legend in my book.

Wow! Thanks, Hank, for the many good stories and history, appropriately told in a step by step manner. I do want to mention though, that The Out House was started by Ray Scott, not Johnny Morris. However, Ray's effort was probably greatly influenced by Johnny and his Bass Pro Shops success

Hank you've always been one of my favorites even though I from Tx but my family comes from North Carolina. I would love to hear you talk about being one of the last people to switch to low profile reels and stick with the round ABUs I was the same it took awhile to convert me.

Love this podcast because I get to learn so much about the history of bass fishing. Also I can tell just how awesome of a family the Parker’s are!!! Sarah Beth you will cherish these videos someday. I wish I had some of them with my grandpa telling stories now that he is gone. It has give me the idea of documenting family stories with other family members.

You are as good a story teller as my dad. I grew up watching you, and the other great fishermen on TV. And living it, with my dad. He was a local "pro" in the 70s and 80s, custom rod builder, and a good daddy. Our cabinet style TV, was covered end to end, with tournament trophies. He was in the local papers, winning Calhoun County classic, and Cherokee county classic, multiple times. Built enough custom fishing rods, to pay for his hydra sport boat. I had a great upbringing, that centered around fishing and hunting. You were one of my favorites as a kid. You looked a lot like my dad, or maybe its the other way around. Great memories. Love your story telling. Love the character you are. Thank you for being one of my heros.

@@ericmurray1300 that's awesome. He's still kicking around. Actually built himself a couple rods a few years ago from blanks he had left over from the 80s. He don't fish much anymore. But he's caught a bunch of um in his day.

@@Gunrunner223 i knew a lot of guys that he built rods for and the anybody that didn't have one wanted one, and he was the best shot I ever seen in a dove field.

I can attest to how great Forrest Wood was. I had the opportunity to be a driver for Forrest, Ray Scott, Bob Cobb and Blake Hunnicutt and his son-in-law to dinner at Alexander’s Steak House in Peoria Illinois during the Superstars touranment. This man invited me in to dine…shoot I was happy just to be the driver. The only thing that could have made it better was to have you (Hank Parker) come along. I met you, Hank during that tournament series and was just in awe of meeting my fishing hero. Thanks for sharing this history!!!

As much as it can be fun.....this is not a video game....its unprofessional and not real fishing to use livescan....its one thing find the cover and structure....and maybe see a fish....but to be to change your baits and cadence based on seeing the sonar image its like using cameras.....as professionals I would even entertain amatuers not seeing the fish is part of the experience!
