Oh, brilliant, Adam! Popmaster of all things. My late uncle, who I've mentioned before as appearing on Fifteen to One, always tuned in on the radio. He'd have tried morning, noon and night to get on if he'd lived to see the TV version. Haven't got round to seeing this series, yet, was glad to see it get a second run.
Well done Adam. For me win or loose the experience and meeting new people who can become friends is the most important thing. As you can tell from my pic I have been lucky to do a number of game shows with the original Deal or No Deal being my first in 2007. Bravo sir
Been a big fan of Popmaster since Radio 2, so was very excited to watch the newest episode after seeing your community post. You played a great game (especially since I thought some of the questions in a certain round were extra hard) . Hoping it's not the last time we see you on UK TV!
That's so funny like I was watching PopMaster TV yesterday and I was like "I am CERTAIN I have seen Adam somewhere!" 😂❤ You did so well that I was so gutted for you that you didn't get to the thtee in ten round!
Wow! You are really lucky to be chosen. Also, you did very well. 2 out of the 5 main terrestrial UK TV channels you were on so far. Only ones left are ITV, BBC Two, and Channel 5. Congratulations Adam.🥳🥳👍👍
I've been watching PopMaster TV since it started on More4 and love it! Have to admit I spent the whole show trying to get the answers before you did and wasn't always successful. Applied to be on Pointless with my brother once but we weren't picked - would have been fun!
Well done to you, brother. I couldn't imagine how nerve-racking that must have been, especially with the hidden feelings off making a fool of yourself even when you can't say or show that live on TV 😅❤️
I didn't catch it on broadcast, but I did catch a repeat on More4 at 12:05 that night. Well done, Adam, you did great, and I'm glad you had a happy experience. Congratulations!
didn't know you were on Popmaster, also didn't know you were up here in my ends in glasgow, great to know you like the city, time to go watch the episode now
You did brilliantly! I know exactly what you mean about it being nerve-racking - I've done Mastermind and Only Connect - but you wouldn't have thought you were nervous. You came across really confidently. Mind you, pass spirals are horrible when you get into them. My husband was surprised that I recognised you, though. I'm face-blind, but your hair made me sure it was you. Did you have to do your own hair and make-up, or did you get it done for you? Would you consider doing any other shows? I know you said in the video about Millionaire, but I think you'd do well on Pointless, especially if a music round came up. Well done!
Catching up with the new series and just watched your episode. The questions in the Original Popmaster were tricky! As for resetting the scores to 0, that's fair. Look at Tipping Point, in round 3 you could have someone on around £2,000 and the other be on just something like £500 meaning they have only a slim chance to make it to the final.
I only watched Popmaster TV because you were on it Adam, and holy f**k, was the show's concept boring as hell. You did really well, and I was happy about that.
Congratulations, Adam! It would be one of my dreams to take part in a quiz show about music, I would love to take part on Mastermind, my subject would probably be the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. "Clint Eastwood" is the Gorillaz song that has an actor's name in. 😃
Ooh! I couldn't watch it because I'm not in the UK, and there's a low chance that a TV channel I have access to would pick up and air the entire season (even then, it'd usually be 1 or 2 years late), so thanks for not only sharing your experience, but also explaining the format! (Edit: there may also be the possibility of clips being released on the Channel 4 RU-vid page)
It’s a shame you weren’t allowed to mention it beforehand because I would’ve recorded it if I’d known! (The Channel 4 apps are all terrible for accessibility, and I always record non-BBC programming by default so I can skip the adverts.) Hopefully there’ll be a repeat at some point and you could let us know that one in advance‽
I was going to audition for Popmaster, but I was put off by the fact that there’s no prize money (or prize at all other than a trophy). I’m not sure how many days you needed to be available for filming, but it wasn’t worth it for me without being compensated in some way.
Yrs ago i got inteviewed LIVE on Radio for something or other to do with my Job at the time as a bingo caller up north in the Manchester area at the club i worked in as a long standing employee at the the bingo club ( a national chain at the time who have since changed name!) i GOT no pre warning of the questions i was gonna be asked etc , i was nervous as hell lol and then they asked me there MUST have been some funny moments in my then 12 yrs of working there ...there were BUT i wasnt gonna say on live radio it i had to say what happens in the bingo hall stays in the bingo hall ( sans fight club) as some were to embarasing to staff , managment or customers ...even if they were funny at the time ( had a manger trip over a mic lead and got flat on thier face on the stage, i was calling a late session and someone in the customers let rip (an allmight fart) that was loud and echoed round the hall for example ...that was the only time i had to stop calling the bingo numbers (as i was supposed to be professional and ignore things like that even medical emergencys with customers to stop them gathering round etc) I just cracked up! well when i did the rest of the bingo hall did lol i have also been interviewed on local radio ( i know live in Bristol) about the amy local dentist going private duirg / after the pandemic as i am on Universal credit and cant afford private dentistry tec ......SO you can imagine how i would be on TV ! ...its realy weird to be honest as i could get up on stage and call bingo numbers to over 500 people ...and perform on stage as a drag artist in the local gay / mixed club i worked in too for 12 yrs but would fall to bits on TV!
The final or radio original looks even more brutal than the BBC Ripoff as at least on that it's a buzzer round and you can bypass what you don't have a clue. This one you don't know you are done for you absolutely have to pick the correct round of questions for you to begin or you lose. I believe Precious Stones was the easiest round this time around for either finalist to take but was still brutal if you don't know it's the way the cookie crumbles but the other contestant went the other way but you don't exactly know what one is going to be easier at the time this game is a real challenge hope you had fun taking part. I think as it's also by BBC Studios the other show on Saturdays if it's still going is definitely going to pick you up as well as initial points matters for the turnaround and entertainment in these music shows especially if things do go pear shaped for the opponents where it matters but you also want them to win too. Maybe even the BBC 2/MTV/VH-1/Sky Buzzcocks as well that one had too many deaths and channels to count. I think your journey on the music gameshows circuit has just begun you have the bug after this and want to get on all the variants.
Oh 5 contestants 5 shows and a 6th show final and you were the 5th that means next week is the final of that unless there is a twist for more than 5 contestants and finalist wildcards in the final and having a contestant drop each round in a more contestants final.
I bet Ken has a little Chuckle to himself His show that he created offered the rights to the BBC and they turned it down , so he kept it copyrighted and Trademarked it took it with him to GHR and C4 which is now a successful TV show for them and its made in a BBC studio.
There are only 3 music facts I knew that you didn't: 1. I knew that Al Green recorded "Let's Stay Together" 2. I knew that Christina Aguilera recorded "The Voice Within" 3. I knew the Gorillaz song named after a Hollywood actor was "Clint Eastwood"
If I was on there, I would’ve kicked off with that Kinks question. I swear to God that Ken Bruce said 1966 instead of 1964 so I said “Dead End Street” @ home
*SPOILER ALERT* Congratulations on having an impressive streak on the show, (untill you fumbled on the Original Popmaster round), still wonderfully played I would fumble on that round too. I'm lowkey mad that you're not able to answer that Gorillaz question correctly (song named after a legendady actor)
